Well, let's talk Contests. Back in the day, Suyo and I hosted the very first "Official" Level Designer Contest, and it turned out very well. As the days passed by, we noticed an increase of ordinary-user-hosted contests, which after a week or two, became rather severe. Everywhere you looked, there was a Contest, most of which with zero replies, and as a result, more and more people lost interest in Contests overall, and the "Level Designer" forum was brought to disaster! For this reason, at that time I decided to compose of this very topic. At the rate it was going, I had no choice but to enforce this rule. Read on to find out more, please.

Only the Admin (Runouw), and any one of the moderators can now host Level Designer Contests. I considered looking into "average user hosts", where any user could be nominated to be able to "legally" create Level Designer Contests, but in regards to multiple reasoning, it doesn't quite seem like a good idea after all. This method of Contest Hosts seems to be the most organized and sufficient way of keeping a balanced, and... well... civilized community here in the Level Designer thread.

If you think you've got a good idea for a contest theme, please, let us know about it! Who knows, it may well be chosen for the next Official Level Designer Contest! I've made a separate topic for suggestions here. Please don't PM me regarding your suggestion, though. Too much of a hassle that way.

Please note that if you choose to ignore this and find it necessary to create your own contest despite what I've just said, it will be deleted. We don't want this forum flooded with contests, as it deters people from posting in even one of them. If you've previously created a unofficial contest and signed in to find it missing, this is the reason. Sorry for any inconvenience.
