Level Posting Rules

NOTE: THESE RULES ARE GOING TO BE REWRITTEN VERY SOON, AS THESE ARE A BIT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. STAY TUNED.

When you post your levels, be sure to follow these guidelines:

-> If you do remixes of levels, post the original level too (with author name)! Of course, Remakes of SMB don't need credit since everyone knows.

-> Do not make glitch or sign levels. Glitch levels are old by now and there are way too much, and if you want to talk about something, there are the forums.

-> Use code tags for the code and italics for the description. If you do not do this, the level will not be displayed in the ingame level portal right.
Code: Select all
DESCRIPTION HERE
LEVEL CODE HERE
Optional things, but you should still do it:

-> A description is important! It makes the player want to play your level, so talk about it a bit - Story (if there is one), Goal...

And now for the most important rule...
-> Put actually some effort in the level!

Image
What's wrong with the no effort pic?
1) Length of the level
2) Cutoff lava
3) too easy
4) forced damage

-> no effort

Image
What's wrong with the no effort pic?
1) Cutoff ground
2) Lazyness
3) Oddly placed red coin (see next pic)

-> no effort

What's wrong with the no effort pic?
1) Really badly placed falling logs (Tip: Hold Crtl to enable accurate Item Placing)
2) Falling log overuse

-> no effort

I hope you know now what's meant.
If you submit too many bad levels, it counts as spamming and you get banned.

If you have questions, don't ask to ask, just ask!

Nedit: Also please, click the "process" button first before submitting the level, if you use the field above the text field. Thanks.

ATTENTION
Please make levels with the NEWEST VERSION OF SM63. You will usually find it here: http://runouw.com/index.html?page=playsm63.html
Use Level Transitions to reduce the lag.

When you post your levels, be sure to follow these guidelines:

-> Don't post all your levels in one topic, every level goes in a single topic. Exception: Course Series.

-> If the level is the first level in a level series, post it in the Main Level Designer Forum. Post the next levels in this topic.

-> If the level is a single level:, post it in the Easy or Hard Levels Section, NOT in the Level Designer Forum

Uhm Superyoshi, we dont have the Easy section/Hard Section you've gotta edit that post.

How do you take screenshots? And also, I don't like playing "BAD" levels either, but you didn't have to be so mean about it.......

I don't really know where to post this, but I think it would be a good idea to have a fps standardization. Just where people could post their fps for the default level in level designer. It would be possible to compare with the average or most common fps to know how a level would run on other computers.
