This is Mario's Final Fantasy, a fanfic of Mario and Final Fantasy... Mixed together! It's a little weird, I know, but hey, it's called boredom. Oh yeah, each Mario character within this story will have a Job/Class, like in Final Fantasy. So, enjoy the story!

Chapter One: A Visit to Princess Peach: show

Chapter One: A Visit to Princess Peach
It was a peaceful day in Mushroom Kingdom, and-
Wait, that's not how this story starts.
Once upon a time, a plumber named Mario lived in a small house on a hill in Mushroom Kingdom, with his twin brother Luigi. And one day, they received a letter from the castle.
Dear Mario and Luigi, plumbers of Mushroom Kingdom,
I invite you two over for cake at the castle. Come no sooner than 10:00 A.M tomorrow.
From, Princess Peach
Mairo and Luigi went to sleep that night. And the next morning, they put on their best clothes, and went down to the castle. But, when they knocked on the door, there was no answer. They tried to get in, but the door was locked. They looked around for a key, but they never found one.
"Luigi, where do you think the key could be?" Mario said, looking around. "Gee, Mario, how would I know?" Luigi replied, looking around, too. They suddenly saw a rabbit hop pass them, holding a small gold object. "Mario, I think that rabbit has the key!" Luigi was already running after the terrified rabbit. "Wait up!" Mario chased after Luigi. Once they cornered the rabbit in the hedges, the rabbit spoke up.
"Geez! Who are you lunatics!" Mario and Luigi looked puzzled, and backed away a bit. "Uh, little bunny, we just want the key you're holding." Luigi slowly pointed to the key in the rabbit's tiny hand. "Oh, this thing? Fine, yeah, you can have it. I thought I could make a fortune out of this gold, but you might need it for better uses." The bunny dropped the key. "Now don't do that again!" The rabbit hopped away madly.
Mario picked up the key, and ran back to the castle, with Luigi running after him. They unlocked the door slowly, and they emerged into the huge main room.
"Luigi, this is luxury!" Mario said, as both he and Luigi gazed all around the place. They then saw a small mushroom person running toward them. "Mario! Luigi! The plumbers! Get out now! It's not safe!" The mushroom person jumped up and down quickly. "Calm down, fella, what's your name?" Mario knelt down next to him. "I'm Toad, and practically Princess Peach's best friend. It's so horrible! Bowser left this letter!" Toad pulled a note out of his blue jacket's shirt, and showed it to Mario and Luigi.
Dear Mushroom kingdom,
I have kidnapped Princess Peach. I just wanted to let you know, so you won't run around screaming curiously and getting on my nerves.
Hahaha! Mario, Luigi, I'm guessing you two will be reading this at some time.
Don't even bother to come and save her, because you will never, ever find her! Mwahahaha!

"Bowser! I should've known!" Mario stood up and clenched his fists. "Mario, calm down, breathe." Luigi put a hand on Mario's left shoulder. "We'll just have to find him again, and-" Mario interrupted Luigi's sentence. "Luigi! Bowser could be anywhere!"
"Plumbers! You should go and try to find her!" Toad clenched his fists, too, with a mad face. "But be careful," Toad stopped for a minute. "Bowser's a Dark Knight! His powers could instantly kill you." Toad said with a worried face. "Yeah, what's with that? 'The Dark Knight'? Bowser's dark enough." Luigi put a puzzled look on his face.
"Well, you see..." Toad looked up at Mario and Luigi. "People around Mushroom Kingdom have been opening the powers to something called a Job. Almost every person in Mushroom Kingdom has a Job; some will let you cast magic, while others will help you fight with swords and junk." Mario stopped Toad. "Swords!?!?" Toad nodded, and continued. "It's a really weird thing. People could do this because of strange crystals appearing in random places around the Kingdom. Bowser didn't get a normal job... He and his servants experimented with a crystal, and they ended up having that crystal turn Bowser into a Dark Knight. It's a tragedy! He uses his Job for evil." Toad fell to the ground, crying. "Oh, Peach! Be okay! Please be okay!" Toad kept on crying, and Luigi knelt down to talk to him. "Don't worry, Toad, we shall find Princess Peach, no matter what it takes! No matter how Dark Knight-ish Bowser is! We'll rescue her!" Luigi said bravely.
"Well, in that case, a lot of the paintings around the castle will strangely teleport you to weird places. You should start off in Bomb-omb Battlefield. Good luck!" Toad got up, and put a thankful look on his face. "Thank you!"
Toad pointed to the room with the painting of the Bomb-omb Battlefield, and Mario and Luigi went inside the room. They looked up at the rather large picture, and nodded at each other. "Mario, let's hope we get through this alive." Luigi looked back up at the picture. "Me, too." Mario looked back up at the picture, also. Then, they jumped through the painting.
The next thing they knew, they heard cannonballs flying everywhere.
