I thought the humor and seriousness was well balanced; the difference in tone between the first half and the second half really accentuated how serious business the second part was.

This was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. However, I would've preferred more description about the setting and the characters themselves. The imagery in my head wasn't as flawless as I would've hoped it to be.
