TBN Series

Postby TrappedTime » January 28th, 2011, 10:44 am

Okay, as some of you know I am starting a series of science fiction stories. I have yet to find a good name for it, though(reply with suggestions). It's like a revamped version of "The Twilight Zone", but with less vampires and werewolves. Not a single story is like another, unless it's in parts. Expect the first story by tomorrow or Sumday.

First official title: “A Doomed Day” (You won't expect it...)

Spoiler: show
Sorry that I couldn't write it today. My hand is strained by clicking 'A' so much X_x

To inform people that I will be writing a series. And your proposed problem is...?

A Doomed Day ( Part 1 - Zero-G )

Well today was never meant to start normal. Nor was any day at all, really. But really it should have gone pretty well. The only problem was the meteor. It was headed towards earth and... unfortunately the worse of it happened. No, it did not collide with an explosion, but missed the earth by half a million miles. This was just enough to... well you'll find out.

Jack was only shopping with his mother in the open mart in Greensville, Pennsylvania. He wore a dull grey sweater and skinny jeans while his mother, Kandra, wore an ugly yellow spaghetti strap with... jeans. The embarrassment almost killed Jack, if the meteor's effects didn't. "Mom, can we go now?" Jack asked, obviously annoyed in all ways.
"Well I just need to find the right pomegranate. They say the ones that are the most bright will bear the seeds with the most flavor." Kandra responded.
"My gooood!"
"Don't complain. I just have to choose between these two. Which one do you think looks brighter?" she asked, shoving the two fruit into Jack's face.

Jack tried to politely push them back, and doing so he said "The right one. Now let's go!"
"Fine..." she said as they walked towards the cashier.

One of the worst spots to be when the meteor passed. Everything and everyone started to fly east, a lot of things just floating in the air. People screamed and panicked, but it was no use. Oranges and fruit splattered on impact with walls and signposts. One person flew straight into a light pole and their head imploded on impact. Blood spurt everywhere. As for Jack and Kandra, they slammed into the top of a car that had hit a ramp and landed on a wall.
With only one bit of consciousness, Jack started to arise from his deep sleep. He tried to stand up, testing this new gravity. Shakily, he finally stood up with confidence. He surveyed the scene before his eyes and wondered What the heck is going on here?” Jack looked for a platform, anything to cross onto. He finally spotted some thrashed corvets which belonged to the gold club members. He didn’t bother waking his mother because… well he couldn’t think about it too much. He started to walk on the corvets and noticed a peculiar tv screen behind a glass pane. It was a store that went old fashioned with its advertisement. Putting the tvs in public view.

A news cast came on and Jack turned his head sideways to watch. On the screen a woman with brown wavy hair started the tragic report.
“Today, tragedy struck our mother earth. As a meteor passed the planet at such a close distance, it literally “stole” the gravity from it. There have been numerous reports of people falling in all directinons, so this is no lie. Fortunately, and quite mysteriously, it did not shift the earth in any direction. If you are a survivor of this event please find a safe place to stay, but for the mean time we will be sending out planes to rescue survivors. Just hang in there, we’re coming.”

“ ‘Just hang in there’ ? Wow… “ Jack said in no surprise. He heard a soaring sound, one sort of like… an airplane! But when he looked backwards, he saw nothing in the sky. Maybe it was somewhere else. But for now, he had to climb p to safety. Only God knows the fate of this horror, but people will find out soon. Very, very, soon…

Yeah, that was very short, but expect it in many stories. This is the first one, and unfortunately, it's in parts.
