Chapter 1: The First Day Of School: show
Well, here is where we start our story. I'm Curly. I'm known as Curlyguy06 to websites, such as Runouw.com, and that's why my nickname is Curly, even in real life. My real name is Joshua, though, so call me by that, if you wish. Anyways, I start off in 5th grade at the Academy of Heroes. I just got promoted to the school, and I'm pretty psyched. All the people there are fighters- Warriors, Wizards, Alchemists- You name it. So it's pretty convenient that our story is like this, huh? Well, don't worry. It won't be boring. Or will it?
I walked off to the Academy for my first day. I'm a little nervous, of course, everybody kind of is on the first day.
"Wow, this must be it!" I said to myself, as I ran ahead. The academy was pretty huge, so I was guessing there was lots of classrooms. That made me feel awkward inside, like a little voice was saying "Oh my gosh! I hate lots of classes!", but i had a feeling it would be pretty fun. I pushed open the front gate, and walked inside.
"Woah..." I gazed upon the large hallway. Students were talking everywhere, and teachers were guiding students to their classes. So this is where it starts, I thought, I guess I should get started. I looked around to see if I had to start somewhere, and then I saw- "Hey!" I turned around, and some guy was running toward me. "Heh? Who are you?" I said, examining the guy.
"You must be the new student... Curly, right?" The guy questioned. "Yes, I am." I answered. "Well, the principal wants you to come to his office. He needs to provide you with the class schedule and information about the school." He exclaimed. Boring, I thought, can I just hurry up and start? "Oh, thanks." I said to the guy, as I started walking toward the office (I think).
After some guidance, I finally got to the principal's office. He told me to sit down in the chair next to his desk, so he could go over stuff with me. "So, Curly, welcome to the school." The principal smiled at me. "Uh, sir, it's actually Joshua..." I corrected him. "DID YOU JUST CORRECT ME? SHUT UP AND LISTEN!" The principal shouted. "Oh- Sorry, sir." Gosh, the principal is strict. "Now, you start in fifth grade, right?"
"Yes, sir."
The principal opened up a drawer in his desk, and pulled out a folded up paper. He handed it to me, and I opened it up. It was labeled "FIFTH GRADE CLASS SCHEDULES", so, I guess these must obviously be the schedules. "Your first class is in first hour, which is Exploration Training." Did he say what I just thought he said? "But first, you shall pick your class." Yay! Now I can take what I want. "Oops, I mean job class." What is this? Final Fantasy? "Before nine, when you start first hour, you should hurry up to the gym and tell the coach you are there for your first job." Huh? "You will be able to change jobs as much as you'd like in the future." Maybe this is Dragon Quest, instead... "Also, you have eight hours each day to complete your classes." Man, this conversation is getting boring. "If you miss a an hour, YOU SHALL GET DETENTION!" Is he freaking serious? "No, I'm just kidding!" Curses. I hate when people joke like that. I'm hungry. "Lunch is at ten thirty every day, and if you you come early at seven thirty, you can order breakfast in the cafeteria." Best thing I've heard so far! "Oh, we're wasting time. Hurry off to the gym, now, Curly- I MEAN Joshua." The principal finally finished. "Okay, thanks for the talk!" Dang, I thought, that conversation seemed as if though it would never end.
And so, I quickly ran out of the office, heading toward the gym.

Chapter 2: Curly's First Job Class and Battle: show
When I arrived at the gym, it was pretty big. Not extremely big... Just big. I spotted a man (who must be the coach) and I ran to him to ask him for my first job class.
"Hello, you must be the coach," I said to him, "well, I'm here for my first job class." The man blinked. "Coach? Heck no. I'm Jack, not the coach!" Jack pulled out a sword and pointed it at me. I backed away a bit. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill you," he explained, "the coach is out currently at the toilet. Sorry. Oh- Wait! Here he comes now!" Jack and me watched the coach as he ran toward us.
"Hello, gentlemen! Oh, looks like a little fifth grader, eh? Alright. What would you like as your first job?" Said the coach. The question came way to quick, so there was no sound. Because of this, I made "hmm" sounds to break the silence. "What jobs are there to start out with?" I didn't really know. "Well, that's basic! You wanna start as a warrior, wizard, white mage, or thief?" So those were the choices. Nice, I guess. "Wizard will suit me for the time being." I answered. The coach stared at me for a minute, an snapped his fingers. "'Kay!" he said out loud. "Here's your first weapon!" The coach raised a hand, and a wooden staff was suddenly in his hands. "Whoa, that's-" I couldn't finish my sentence, the coach quickly handed it to me. "You shall train to learn your powers. Try on this thing!" A goblin appeared in front of me instantly. That was way too quick, also, and I jumped back quickly. "Hey- What the heck is this?" I obviously knew what it was, but I didn't want there to be an awkward silence again. "A goblin, duh!" Jack said quickly. I prepared my weapon for my first... Battle.

"Okay! Concentrate!" I heard the yells of the coach. "Just attack it, use an ability, cast magic on it, or use an item! Or run and be a wuss. Pick something to do!"
I barely knew what he meant. But... I didn't know magic, I didn't know any abilities, and I didn't have items, and I don't wanna be a wuss, so... "I'll attack!" I said loudly. "Well," said Jack, "what 're you waiting for? Do it!" I ran toward the hideous goblin, and pounded it with my staff. "5 damage!" I heard the couch say to me. "Say what?" I answered. "It's the goblin's turn now!" I heard Jack yell. The goblin pulled out a knife, and cut me. "Ooo, 7 damage onto you, fifth grader-" I interrupted the coach. "It's Curly." The coach blinked. "Well, go again!" I rolled my eyes, and then yelled "attack!". I felt like an idiot in an rpg, but I pounded the goblin again. "9 damage!" Yelled the coach. "The goblin faints! You win!"
I felt a burst of energy, as if I just gained more confidence and power. "What happened?" I said. "You gained experience! EXP, for short. Get a little more and you'll level up, and maybe learn some abilities!" Said the coach. Weird. "Okay. Cool." I could care less. "Here, take this!" The coach threw me a small electronic pad. "It's a recorder. Find out your party's stats, and the enemies stats. Also keep track of your classes, job classes, inventory, and other junk." Hey, this is actually getting fun. "Once an item is acquired, it'll go into the pad right into the inventory. Click on the 'Inventory' button to acess the inventory, and take out items and stuff." Complicated. "Okay! Thanks for telling me!"
Well, let me think about this, because I'm in "what the heck!?!?" mode.

Chapter 3: First Hour and First Party: show
After reviewing with the coach, he told me I should hurry up and get to first hour, as it was almost starting.
First hour was exploration class. We are going to travel through a small part of the forest on the other side of the creek beside the academy. I'm excited to see what we will find!
"Alright, alright! Calm down! Welcome, fifth graders, to your first time at exploration class. We will travel a bit of ways through the forest at the other side of this creek, and we will learn how to collect items, and battle foes." The teacher's eyes narrowed through his dark glasses. "And I want no fooling around. Understood?" All of the students nodded. "Good." He started walking back and forth the way teachers do when they have something important to say. "We have twelve students here today- And we shall divide into six parties, each with three students in them." A lot of the students nodded. Well, I though, at least I'll be with some friends. "Alright- Joshua, you will pair with these two." The teacher pointed to a blonde-haired girl, and an orange-haired boy. "Okay," I said, walking over to them, "hey guys."
After we were all arranged into parties, we started across a small bridge of rocks to get over the creek to the forest. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. My party is me, Danny, and Lyla. Danny is a warrior, and Lyla is a white mage. So the team pretty much works out if you ask me.
Once our parties got across the the bridge, we were at the entrance to the forest. "Now, everybody, stay with your party. Whoever you are with will be your party for a long while, so get to know each together for a minute. We will all stay together, so nobody will get lost. I'll give everybody a few minutes." Small conversations started breaking out at the edge of the forest. I talked with Danny. "So, uh, where you from?" Always the first question. "I'm from nowhere special. Just a few blocks away from the academy, I walk to school everyday." I looked over at Lyla. "Where are you from?" Lyla glanced up at me, for she was looking down at the ground. "Oh! Sorry! I was daydreaming. I'm from the house a few blocks over from the town grocery store. My mother works there, so we bought a house nearby." Lyla said. Danny and Lyla started talking to each other about something, and I turned around. I saw Jack walking across the path. He glanced over at the chatty fifth graders, and started walking again. "Hmm..." I said. "I wonder what class he has in first hour."
"Alright! I gave you enough time!" I heard the teacher yelled. "Now, we should start down the forest, so you guys will be able to have some free time before you leave." Some "yays!" came from the students. I raised my hand. "Yes?" The teacher looked down at me. "Um, don't we have second hour?" I looked up at his shadow glasses. "No, today is a half day, just so you can get used to the place. Pretty short half-day, though. Anyways, let's go."
We went down the path ahead of us. Our party was the first in line. I was looking around, when suddenly, out of nowhere, jumped two goblins. "Holy crap!" I heard some of the students yell. "Don't worry, we released these for battle training. Joshua, will your group fight these hideous creatures?" I looked at them. "Sure." I said. I took out my electronic pad to record the battle.

Danny ran toward the first goblin, and slashed it with his iron sword. "8 damage." His Recorder said. "Enemy fainted." Danny smiled, and put his sword in the ground. "Attack!" Lyla lightly said, pounding the remaining goblin with her staff. "3 damage," her recorder told, "7 HP remains for the enemy." The goblin ran toward Danny, and whirled a punch at him. "Ouch!" I heard him say. "9 damage." Said a Recorder. I attacked the goblin, obviously. My Recorder said it took exactly 7 damage, and it fainted, We all gained some EXP.
"Nice fight!" The teacher told us. There was some applause from the other parties. "Now off we continue!" Our party nodded at each other, and followed the shade-wearing teacher.
