This is only a preview of my next story, The Other World, which will be the sequel to my current story: Our World. Be aware that this is ONLY a preview, and Our World is still far from completion. This is only to show you whats ahead.
The Other World (Preview)
Screams were all around me. Screeches, shrieks, and whatnot; I felt like I was in hell.
But I ventured on through this maze of torment, confronting my fears. My experiences have taught me to not follow my fears.
“Come on!” Ginger exclaimed. “You’re falling behind!”
We both new what would happen to me if I were to fall behind, and get lost forever. The demons of hell would pick my bones, and I would disappear into nothingness. Nothing…as if I never existed. I carried on, and ran up beside Ginger, to insure my safety…as long as she was safe, that was.
I looked behind us as we were running, and saw a wall of fire heading straight for us. Apparently the ruler of this region—wherever we were—didn’t want us here. Instead, he wanted us scorched alive.
We kept running, but I tripped on something. I nearly fell, and that would’ve been the end of me. But Ginger caught me, and pulled me up, or in other words: saved my life. I would’ve said thank you, but now was not the time.
We kept running, but we both saw something that meant death: a dead end.
Our only option was to keep running, and hope there is a way out.
As we approached the fiery-looking wall, I searched all around for a button, a lever, ANYTHING! But there was nothing out of the ordinary. Well, okay, I take that back. When you are in a chamber maze leading to another realm about to be scorched by a lava wall created by what sounds like the devil himself; NOTHING is ordinary. But you get the point; there was nothing that could save us.
As the lava approached us at a devilish speed, Ginger said to me “Listen. I’m gonna try and stop it. All I’ll be able to do is slow it down, but it should buy you some time to find an exit!”
“You’re gonna WHAT?!” How on earth would she be able to stop that thing?
“If you reach the other side, then you’ll be able save your mom.”
“Wait!” I yelled.
“Don’t worry, Bryan. I’ll never forget how you saved me” With this, she kissed me. But soon after she did, I broke the kiss.
“If you go, I go as well.”
“No Bryan. You can’t stop it. Don’t worry. It won’t be the last time we see each other.”
That’s weird how she could possible know that.
She pulled a glowing red pebble out of her pocket, and held it in her hand. She gripped it hard, and it made her whole body glow.
“AHHHHH!” She screamed, as she jumped in the wall of fire. And surprisingly, the fire….stopped.
I knew it wouldn’t last long, though. As of now, I didn’t even know if there was a way out. The fire was acting like it was…fighting something. And it looked like it was struggling.
“Nooo! You accursed girl! You shan’t stop me!” That devilish voice said. The screams seemed to get louder.
I searched the wall more and more, but found nothing. “DANG!” I yelled, and I kicked the wall.
You know in those movies how when you usually get frustrated because you’re at a dead end, and so you kick the wall, and that usually activates some sort of exit?
Yeah, well, that didn’t happen to me. Why? Because this isn’t a movie. This is the real deal.
I could literally feel the heat of the fire, which looked like it were hundreds of degrees. It was still struggling, but it seemed to be winning that struggle. I said “To hell with it” and I sat down, and gave up, waiting for the fire to win that fight, and kill me.
But as I leaned against the wall, I felt something sticking out. I turned around to look, and I saw a big orange button. I immediately pressed it, and the entire wall transformed into stairs. They were leading to…outside. An exit, I thought.
I immediately ran up the steps, and before I knew it, I was outside. I didn’t know where I was, but by the looks of it, I was in an old village. It was night outside; about 1 in the morning, I guessed.
I turned around, and the exit I came out of was…gone! It just vanished, as if I was never even there, as if I was never about to die; as if Ginger never existed.
I felt a presence. I didn’t feel like I was in the real world. Almost like a dream. But I knew I wasn’t dreaming. And I felt like I was being called…
“Welcome to the other world, Bryan” I told myself.
Well, there ya have it. The preview of the upcoming story. Now as far as the release date for the story itself, it won't come out until Our World is finished. So I'd say around 2 months. But who knows? Anyways, leave comments.
