Distortion-Chapter 4 released

Postby Buff_ » January 26th, 2010, 1:43 pm

I will be solely working on this story. TAC will be a prequel to this, because I well... I wanted to do a giant fully blown story. Here be it.

Prologue

The sun balanced upon the edge, its shining brilliance leaving a golden trail over the nations. The evening air filled the nostrils of all those in its glow. The sun was setting, giving way to the light of the two moons. The salty air from the slowly rising sea was tasted by a man on Cliff’s Edge.
“There’s a war coming” he muttered to himself. The wind picked up, carrying the autumn leaves to sea, leaving only bear trees to look at from the ocean. The man glanced at the oncoming boat, its sails rippling in the wind. Slowly, the boat arrived at the shore of the man’s home. The man walked down the cliff to the shore, coming to greet an old friend of his. There was no-one there, it was an empty boat. “How can this be?” he asked himself, bewildered. He jumped in to search the whole boat for any sign of life. There was none. A faint laugh was heard from the distance, a storm quickly followed. A gas was released from the middle of the boat, weakening the man. Slowly, but surely the thunderstorm arrived directly above the boat. Static electricity built up, lightning was approaching. The laugh grew louder, coming ever nearer. The man grabbed the side of the boat, pulling his head just above the side, and into another man’s face.
“I have plans for this world, to make it a better place. Others agree with me; you on the other hand, sit in your house and do nothing. We used to be the leaders of a great nation, yet you turned your back on us, away from being the almighty war leader, to a slum in the wild” he nodded to the forest behind the man’s house.
“Your…customs” the weakening man breathed heavily “are…wrong.”
“Hah, you say that now Grash, what about five years ago when things were good. Luckily you won’t be living any longer, so to you my colleague, goodbye.” More static built, the sky grew ever darker, the sunlight now gone from all crevices of the sky. The air crackled, and a lightning bolt slammed into the boat, causing it to explode into a thousand shards. The war had started.

Chapter 1- The last link

Alex looked upon the shining city. This was it, her home, alive and well. The disaster gone from the world, the time gates locked and the whole world knew nothing. It was good to be back. She had missed her home, and many of her friends. Alex climbed off the balcony and onto a ledge lower down the building. She kept doing this until she was on solid ground. Something had gone wrong though, no-one seemed to recognise her, as if she never existed. Even her only family shunned her away, it was all a little confusing, but she would find a way to make things right. She headed down the nearest hill, along the paved ground and onto the field. This was her epiphany ground, a place she could talk to Charles, the last link between her and him. They had become great friends, like father and daughter, but that couldn’t last. Charles, with the help of a man from the Time Cradle Agency had created a tiny rip in the fabric of time to allow Alex to talk with Charles. It was already dark, so Alex took her time trying to find it, but with luck, she found the old well, deep in the woods. The field she had been in was still in view, and then she entered.

Due to her being connected with Charles, instead of ending up at the bottom of a well, she found herself in a room. It was a musty, old fashioned room. There were curtains over the windows, and a rusty old kettle. The weird thing was that there was nothing outside the windows. It was just, what appears to be white, then black. It seemed to be nothing, the light from the room, although no lights were present. She had been here before, once, when she had connected with Charles and Chris.
“Ah, so you have arrived” a voice sounded from the deep. An old, grey haired man came into view, slowly fading in.
“Erm, do I know you? I was supposed to be meeting Charles.” Alex frowned. This was not Charles, how could it be, he was too old.
“Don’t you recognise me? Well, you I haven’t seen you like this since… well since I met you in that prison hold.”
“Prison hold? I’m sorry, I don’t know who you are, please get Charles?” she pleaded uncertainly.
“I am Charles.”
“But how can you be? You…you’re old.”
“It seems time flows differently from our two different eras. The next time you meet me, I’ll be younger, and will not know of this meeting. At least now I understand why you acted so weirdly.” He trailed off, casting his glaze upon the empty windowsill, as if remembering a long lost past.
“So… Charles” Alex was still uncertain about this, it was like talking to a complete stranger “I need your help” His eyes lit up, and cast his glaze back on Alex.
“What do you need help with?” he smiled, it was definitely Charles.
“Long story short, I don’t exist” she said firmly, remembering the blank looks on her parents faces when she told them that she was her daughter, “no-one remembers me”
“Ah, that. You are in a different universe entirely” he said bluntly. Alex was astounded; this explained everything, just about.
“How can this be? I saved my parents and time itself.”
“If you remember, I helped, so did Chris and many others. I’ll look, just give me a minute and I’ll give you a direction.” Charles closed his eyes, he became solid, all movement lost. Alex stood there for a few minutes, Charles motionless as if a statue. Slowly the colour returned to his face, and he opened his eyes.
“So?” Alex asked immediately. She looked into Charles’ eyes, they were black.
“You will face that which no-one has seen, this world is branch between that which you have experience and that you haven’t. Death on one side, life on the other, it is coming.” As soon as he said this, his eyes returned to their original deep brown. “So what did I say?” he asked urgently.
“Well… you kinda said something about their being three worlds, one of them being death, another here, while on more that no-one has seen. Any ideas?” she asked anxiously.
“You seem to take this situation lightly. I think I am already in this other world, and I have seen it. I think it only refers to your the current time. You need to get ready, my dear, you’re adventure waits.” The room then started to fade. Charles faded away first. Soon the whole room was fading away, the nothing outside became something, and what looked like a distorted time gate appeared.

Chapter 2-That world

The chief’s son took out his hunting gear. He had been waiting all his life to become a man. He would soon be able to go on hunting trips with the rest of the men from his tribe. Refdan was part of the Gedesan tribe, a sacred tribe who knew the art of telepathy. Naturally, there were men and women who used this method to survive. Others, on the other hand did if for glory. They had built great civilisations, exploiting other people’s weak points and using them for their own gain. They lived separately, on a giant island in the middle of the world, using all the natural resources and volcanic soil to feed off, and claiming the land for themselves. They were a horrible bunch, feeding off the weak and needy.

Refdan was the chief’s son, his one and only heir, and he was becoming a man. The initiating process would start soon, and he would have to kill the beast of the cavern. “I’ll make you proud, father” he said as he kissed a pendant hung around his neck. Walking from outside the wilderness area, he entered the ominous cave. It was dark at first, so he felt his way around. He would often bump into jagged rocks at the sides, not knowing where he was going.

Gradually his eyes adjusted to the darkness, and in that waiting was an Omkadrel, named after the Omka people, as their local beast. It was one of the most feared creatures in the world, its slimy mouth equipped with thousands of razor sharp teeth, not to mention claws the size of, well huge. It had beady little, pitch black eyes, a scaly snake like body and several insect like feet. It was a brownish-green colour with yellow splotches around its abdomen. To put it lightly, Refdan was scared. In fact he was completely and utterly terrified. This was the most disgusting, horrifying creature he had ever seen. Not only that, but it was 7ft tall, while he was a mere 5ft 5. This isn’t going to be easy, he thought. The monster sensed movement in the cave, and it rested its eyes on Refdan, prey had come wandering in. Refdan pulled out his spear as the Omkadrel turned towards him. He threw it at the beast, and then rushed forwarded unsheathing his sword ready to swipe, when he was knocked back. One of the huge claws had scraped his chest and knocked dropping his sword, he flew away from the best. He crashed into a wall, again slowly being killed by the sharp edges. The Omkadrel advanced on Refdan, using the time it had before he attacked again. On his hands and knees, Refdan stood up, grabbed his bow and arrow off his back, and started shooting arrows two at a time. The arrows flew, they were a perfect hit, but bounced off the scales. They were too hard, and the hide underneath too thick, no wonder no-one had survived against one of these before. Still moving, the creature barged through the rain of arrows and grabbed Refdan with its claws. Taking off many layers of skin, it secreted poison into the blood stream of Refdan, it brought back its free claw and was ready to smash his skull open when a boulder hit it from behind. It glanced back, a human in odd clothing had appeared from a weird light source, with another following behind. The Omkadrel dropped Refdan on the rocky floor, bleeding, and advanced towards the new beings. At once, the boy out of the two, since it was a boy and girl, lifted his hand up lifted the beast into the air. The girl was watching, a hard look on her face as the Omkadrel floated, and was smashed against the rocks. Never had the beast been against something more powerful than itself. Considering this, it turned back to Refdan and was ready to devour his limp body. Seeing this, the girl ran up, grabbed the sword, jumped and disappeared. Instantly she was on the Omkadrel’s back, plunging the sword into its head.

The beast died instantly, its life force left it, and the empty body fell to the floor. Refdan was next to it, also lying on the floor. Blood was flowing onto the ground from cuts all over his body. The arrivals ran over, seeing the limp teenager.
“We have to find a place for him to heal, Chris” the girl said.
“Yeah” Chris said as he looked out the entrance of the cave “it’s getting dark, we’d better get out of here quickly.” The girl looked up at Chris, who bent down and picked Refdan up. She glanced at the flickering light. “Alex, we can’t go back.”

3 hours earlier

Alex fell with a thump. The old well was behind her, but different somehow. Moss was growing through cracks in the surface, and there were blocks that were shaded a different colour. How much time had passed? Lying on the ground she looked at the stars, a faint whisper of Charles lingered in the air, with just this Travel East. She guessed it meant something, and so picked herself up, and, yes you guessed it, walked east. She knew the stars well and easily spotted the North Star, and so knew where to go. Across the field she walked, no home, no friends, it had all been lost in a desperate attempt to save time. Ah, time. She had travelled far and wide in time and space to get here, meeting many people with powers like her own. Alex guessed it all started with the death of her parents, and her finding of the first time gate, but that was all over. The time gates were gone, stranding her in her own period of time. Although they are non-existent, that last one she saw looked strangely like one of them. That was a vision, a look into the future, she would find it again.

Getting to a hill, she stopped; something caught her eye, a light source in the wood. There highway was a few minutes South, but this intrigued her. So, like the curious girl she was, walked into the wood to find out about this light source. Upon falling over logs, and trudging through mud, she came to a clearing. The trees weren’t so dense around here, and the moonlight could find its way through the leaves and onto the ground. Where the moonlight struck, was the light source, or two light sources. One of them had a yellow outline with what looked like the same wood she was in, inside. The other was green, but was pitch black inside. Alex guessed this was what Charles meant about the different worlds. Going for what looked like the best option, stepped into the yellow outlined gate.

How wrong she was. As soon as she stepped foot, she knew she had taken the wrong path. There was death and destruction everywhere. Lifeless bodies were piled around her, and the trees were on burning ablaze. Taking all this in as quickly as possible, she turned around to find that the gat had gone. There was no trace, just pile of rotting, flea ridden bodies. Eyes alert, Alex ran from the stench and into the burning woods. Inside there were monsters not of this era, obviously from the far future. They, what looked like the results of trying to fuse two different disgusting animals together. She saw a snail and a rat mixed, and a spider and slug. It would be alright if they were normal sized, but these were 4ft tall, much bigger than if you fused their normal counterparts. There was their size, but not to mention they were bared with fangs and pincers. Quietly as possible, Alex stepped by and out of the forest.

Out there it was no better. Streets had been burned and there was a massive indescribable creature. Without knowing it, Alex had run straight into its gaze. She turned just in time to see its foot looming over her. She ran. This was not her day. Falling in mud, finding giant creatures, falling in mud and falling in mud. Running, she saw a corner behind half a building. It was covered in blood, and there were cracks streaming straight through it. Still going, she sprinted the last stretch and dived behind it. Luckily, the creature was dummer than a post, and so forgot about Alex almost instantly.
“Phew” she breathed. She had just run quite a stretch and was out of breath. Someone was there with her, breathing loudly.
“Alex?” a voice sounded. Alex was scared now, a German accented male voice had spoken to her, “Alex is that you?” A face came into the light, and Alex recognised it.
“Chris?”
“It is you Alex. I thought I’d find you around here”
“You seem pretty calm, what’s with the beasties?” She asked, then after “and why are you here?”
“Skipping your first question, I was sent here by Charles and…”
“Charles spoke to you too?” she interrupted.
“Yes, he told me I would find you here, and I must go with you”
“I see…” Alex was struck by a thought, “I see you’re much better at English now”
“Yeah, I started…” he started “that’s not why I’m here. We must go, this world is finished.”
“Go where?”
“The way you came in, my gate disappeared before my eyes”
“Same here, but there was a strange ominous glowing”
“So take me there, we need to out of this place”
“…ok, get ready”

Alex reached out her arm and placed it on Chris. Concentrating, she evaporated with Chris, and they landed in the spot where Alex had entered in from.
“This is the place?” Chris shouted. There was a loud growling from the forest, a creature had spotted them.
“Yes!” She shouted back. The growling grew louder, but as well as that, the glow came back, the gate had appeared again. With no hesitation, they walked through, and landed on a peaceful other side. This peace wasn’t going to last long though, the growling came again, and a creature plunged through. Chris quickly reacted, using his telekinesis to lift up the half breed in the air and slam it on the ground.
“It found its way through” Alex said astonished, “we should go in there” she pointed at the green outlined gate.
“Do you know where it leads?” Chris asked.
“No, but it’s better than here. Soon this place will be overrun, and we will be dead. There’s no place for us here” Hesitating, Chris walked into the gate, followed closely by Alex, leaving this realm forever.

Chapter 3-The town of Omadeir

Lifting someone up and running at the same time was tiresome work. Alex had run on ahead, looking for a place to rest. The sun was going down very quickly, much faster than it did in Chris’ own realm. He stopped slowly; Refdan was getting too much of a burden, and so he laid the teenager on the floor. Chris checked the boy’s pulse, it was slow and faint, but clearly there. Where was Alex? He sat down, tired of running. Along the way, Chris had noted several differenced between his world and the one he was in, some really obvious, others more subtle. For starters, the sun was smaller, and a day much smaller. It only seemed that the day was ending soon when they ran out the cave, but it was already dark after about an hour. Other more subtle was that the grass was a different shade, and the flowers were just, not flowers. They all seemed to have different attributes, some in the shape of a crescent, and another, what looked like an exploded ball. Something else bothered him; it was that there were no humans near. Where was everyone? As Chris was pondering over this, someone tapped on his shoulder, it was Alex, and she was smiling.
“I’ve found a place to stay, now just hang on” she said. Alex bent over and placed a hand on the boy, as well as on Chris. Less than a second later, they were in front of a small town, more of a village really, but the sign on the front said town. Chris noted down the name, Omadeir, and picked up Refdan. It was only a few metres to go.

Alex led Chris through the town, many of the townsfolk crowded round to see what had happened. They were not rewarded with a pretty sight; Refdan was bleeding from cuts all around his body, pus seeping out the wounds. They kept going, Chris, with Refdan in his arms, following Alex to a wooden shack on the edge of the town. Stepping into the shack, they were greeted by an old woman, acting as the nurse of the village. Chris laid Refdan on a premade bed, stepped away and let the nurse do the work. As soon as they walked outside Chris asked “Who is she?”
“She is the nurse of this town, the healer”
“I got that, but she seemed to warm to us so quickly, as if she knew us”
“Well… I ran up to the town, getting weird looks from the folk and bumped into her. She led me to her hut and told me to bring the injured boy. I guessed I never thought about that.” Alex stared off into silence. As she was thinking about this, the old woman stepped out of the hut.
“He’s going to be fine” she said, in a very weird accent, “he just needs rest now. I’ve done the rest. Now tell me, how did he get hurt?”

This was a hard question for them to answer since they didn’t know what had attacked them. So they improvised.
“It was huge, 7 feet tall, and it was drooling”
“And had claws the size of bigger than your head, and it was green, like a snake”
Alex and Chris described the creature for the next few minutes, a look of horror creeping in on the old woman’s face. A minute of silence past, before she finally said:
“You are talking about the Omkadrel, the most feared beast in the land, why do you not know of this creature?”
Chris answered first, being the eldest of the two “We aren’t from here, my good lady”
“Speak clearly; you can’t cross the border without being attacked. Explain”
Alex answered this time “We came through a gate” she said, “a rip in the world. It was in the cave the Omkadrel was resting, and we attacked the beast when we saw that the boy was going to die.”
“His name’s Refdan, the heir to the Gedesan tribe, a leader in the making. He was on his way to become a man, and you deprived him of that.” The old woman said, “But you saved his life, and he will be thankful. Now tell me strangers, what are your abilities? You couldn’t have beaten that creature without those.”
“You know?” Alex asked instantly.
“What do you mean ‘you know?’? It’s a common fact that you either have an ability or not, depending on your nation or tribe” responded the old woman. Then, after looking at their astonished faces, “That man was right; I am talking to people who don’t know anything of this world.”
“Someone knew we were coming” asked Chris, astonished.
“You really don’t know anything do you?”She said bluntly, “A strangler of the Cogpre walked past a week ago, and gave us insight”
“What’s Cogpre?” The woman stared at them.
“It’s a nation, across the waters in Patem, a city of seers.” She answered, “Now answer my question, what ability do you two have?”
“Well…” Alex started.
“I have telekinesis” Chris proceeded, “And my friend here has teleportation”
“What are your names?” the old woman asked, a hard look on her face, seemingly skipping the question she had tried hard for them to answer.
“I am Chris Caloni, and this is Alex Oropen” Chris answered.
“Oropen? Oropen? Why does that seem so familiar?” the woman muttered to herself. Suddenly, she rushed back inside the shack. A lot of ruffling was heard from inside, papers being thrown on the floor, boxes being moved. Finally, the woman came out holding a piece of parchment. “Here it is, it’s a prophecy” Alex was astonished by this, how could her name cast all the way to a different world altogether?
“How can that be?” Alex asked.
“I don’t know my dear; it was cast 500 years ago, after the Great War.” The woman handed Alex the prophecy. It was crumpled, and hard to see in place, but still eligible. It read:

When the time has come for a new fight to begin, from the shadows and light, a saviour will come. This saviour will travel with another, a powerful being, and find an injured royalty. This person will come to destroy which threatens the good in this world, with what that has not been seen before, and this person will have a name, and this name is Oropen.

Alex stared at the paper, reading it over and over. There was no doubt that it had her surname on. She preceded to hand it to Chris. He was also surprised at seeing her surname, it was all very confusing, but this brought Chris to a question he had been dying to ask.
“What do you call yourself?” Chris asked politely, he could see that this woman could become a horror.
“My name? I am Delengui. I am one of the few Heorsei left. I can heal others, like the boy you gave me.”
“Delengui?” Alex asked uncertainly, “where can we stay the night?”
“For now”, she answered, “you can stay with me, but you must find a place tomorrow.”

Over the next few days, Chris and Alex staying in the local inn, kindly paid for by Delengui, caught up on the world around them. They were taught, by Delengui, about the different nations, the prophecy and the kinds of creatures you get. Refdan also recovered quickly, his wounds healing much faster than normal, with the help of Delengui, and gradually getting back on his feet. The Omkadrel damaged Refdan very badly, and without the help of a Heorsei, he wouldn’t have survived. News spread quickly around the town, of the saviour’s, Alex’s, arrival and she soon became a celebrity. Everyone would greet her as Oropen or saviour, rather than Alex, so to avoid being crowded by lots of people; she confined herself to the room in the inn.

Chris came back after shopping. The fruits and vegetables were a lot different, and frankly, to them, looked disgusting.
“While I was out, Delengui talked to me” Chris started.
“And? What did she say?” Alex asked.
“The usual, Refdan’s much better, but she did bring up something different” answered Chris, “we have to leave soon.”
“What? Why?” asked Alex, “We’ve hardly been here for a week, I still don’t know half of what’s going on!”
“Because, Alex, we’ll have people on our trail. Word has got out that you are here, and soon there will be people after us, we cannot wait around. Besides, it’s about time we moved on, you have a destiny to fulfil.”
“But what if I’m not up to it? I’ve only recently been taught about this world, and my so-called legacy.”
“Hey, you may only be a teenager, but you have a strong spirit. Not to mention, you could beat me in a fight.” Chris and Alex kept on talking when there was a knock at the door.
“Not another townsfolk guy” Alex moaned. Chris walked over, and had a welcome surprise when he opened it.
“Hey” said the person, giving a slight wave. It was a teenage boy, roughly the same age as Alex. It was Refdan.

Chapter 4-Satyk

The role of travelling for threats was a boring one. No-one these days fought back, and those that did had either been captured or still had a stronghold. The war had been going on for a decade now, from the king of the Blizdrom killing the man who held the information to destroy them, and yet not much had happened until recently.

Satyk sat meditating in his room on the warship. He was a lone soldier, a novice in his ability. Satyk was one of those who were born with an ability, the ability of foresight. Despite being a novice of his power, he was not able to learn from masters, it was not something that he could be taught. Many of those born with an ability never developed it, it was just an unused trait; but this was something Satyk strived to learn. To become a master at his ability meant a master at his job, and then a formidable foe. At the minute he could see the future, but not tell when or what it was; it would come suddenly, and he couldn’t tell if it was the immediate future, or the long term future.

A man walked in, clearly a grunt soldier, with his uniform all neat and the crest of the Cogpre, a seahawk with a purple triangle through it, and a scroll in his hand.
“Lord Satyk, I have news that might interest you” the soldier said, raising the scroll.
“Let me see” Satyk responded, taking the scroll out of his hand.

On the scroll was lots of information about neighbouring islands and nations. Included with this information was a map of the area, pinpointing all the places where battles were ensuing.
“What am I seeing?” Satyk asked calmly, a definite tone in his voice.
Slightly intimidated, the grunt replied “We have information that a threat has been sighted.”
“And what is this threat?”
“A great one. Two master’s of their abilities, one of them different.”
“Different how?”
“No-one has seen anything like it. Some say this person can be at two places at once.”
“Where did you get this information from?” he asked, still calm.
“But my lord, the prophecy..” he was cut off.
“Don’t talk to me about the prophecy! I forbid it” Satyk shouted, angry all of a sudden. “Now tell me, has anyone else heard about this?”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside his quarters, all that could be heard was thumping and frustrated cries. Satyk desperately went through the shelves nearby, pulling them out three at a time, scattering them across the floor. He was clearly looking for something, but he couldn’t find it. It must be here somewhere, among the masses of books he had about folklore and history. He found many a book about the history of different tribes, but nothing of the prophecy; it was like it had been ripped out of all the books it was mentioned in. In fact, some books had torn pages throughout. Something was going on here, and he didn’t like it.

“You have been very useful er....” a voice sounded.
“Jyril” the crouching figure answered.
“Yes. Jyril” the voice repeated, remembering the name “I assume you have got it?”
“Yes, Admiral Iwa”
“You remembered my name, very good.” Admiral, the highest order of the Blizdrom. Iwa succeeded in becoming one of the most capable Clime Conductors, exceeding past the ranks she needed. “I like you Jyril, your files on Satyk have been very good. Your stealth is admirable, and I just love thieves. Now will you pass those.” She pointed at the books on the floor.

Jyril’s face was briefly shown in the candle light, giving a glimpse of a hard-worn face. Not much else was revealed, as he figure quickly moved away. The words ‘Can you see me again?’ rattled around his brain. He was not one to put his service in for someone more than once, but this woman seemed serious. She was a ladies man, and an admiral, he knew that much. He would not make the mistake of denying someone an assignment again.

Satyk was still looking, but to no avail. He was on the verge of shouting in frustration, this was something he must have. Something vital for his upcoming quest, something that would let him know his enemy, and defeat them. This was a mission set before him, destiny had given him a chance. Well, he believed that anyway. Something had been set before him, and if he remembered right, the saying was that someone would step up to the so called ‘saviour’. Satyk was very focused on the jobs he gives himself, any other, he would dismiss unless it helped him personally.

His eye twitching, his mind set on this, Satyk barely heard the footsteps outside. They were quick and quiet, obviously by someone light footed. Though he did not remember someone this light footed on his ship. He quickly switched his gaze to the door and stood up. Quietly, without shifting his gaze, he rested his hand on the handle of a sword he kept under the desk. Slowly, he watched the door open.

Mysteriously, that’s all that happened. It opened, but nothing else appeared. There it was, standing ajar, and yet nothing was there, just an empty opening. Satyk released his hand off the sword, and slowly walked to the door. He peeked outside, all was quiet, the candles were still lit, the wax depleting, but all was well.

This was when he felt the presence of someone else. Slowly, he gripped a dagger from his waist, as to avoid being noticed to have moved. Suddenly, he span round, releasing his grip on the dagger. It twisted sharply, and plunged into his desk. Satyk caught a glimpse of a hooded figure in black before it disappeared. The window was open, the drapes rippling in the night wind. Looking out the window, Satyk saw nothing; nothing but the emptiness of the dark sea. Returning back into the room, he went to close the door to avoid suspicion when he noticed something was lying on his desk next to the embedded dagger. It was a scroll, but one word to him stood out; and that word was ‘prophecy’.

Hmm…quite interesting. Of course, you'll need to explain some things, but quite good so far.

Chapter 3 was very nice. A little cliché with the whole "prophecy" and all, but I liked it! You've explained to some extent where this is going without revealing everything which is good. The one thing left to do is reveal how Alex and Chris got their powers and stuff. But quite good! :D

There will be an explaining chapter for them sometime in the future, not much else will happen. It'll be them telling others, I think...still haven't worked out everything.
