These thoughts.... They keep reappearing in my head.. That's because... I was not born like the rest of the ''normal'' kids. I was.... How should I say... Found. Awakened. I've had a life before this one... But I can't remember it at all......



(Inspired by Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but not exactly the same story. Definitely not.)












I go to Oak Way Middle School. I am 13 years old.... I.... Go to a ''special'' school my, I would guess, ''father'' founded. Principal Ken. Only unique people are qualified to go to Oak Way Middle School. By unique, I mean carefully chosen people. I don't see anything special in this school though. But at least there are less students here, i'd say about 8 people per class. Still, I have this strange feeling, whenever I enter this school, I feel a burst of darkness.. Must be my imagination..

There was an assembly at school today. A strange assembly it was... Telling us how to lure the darkness in and out of your heart. Probably just something about controlling your feelings, maybe?

Diary Entry No. 107
Me and my best friend, Cail, hanged out after school today. He asked me if I remembered anything from my past. I knew I wasn't going to recall anything but, I closed my eyes for a while... Strangely, an image did come to me. It was me.. Looking out at the stars, and from far way were two people... That was as far as I could see. I couldn't quite tell who those two people were. I wonder if that was a memory from my past. Eh, probably just a silly thought... Maybe...

Day 1

''Who am I...'' ''Where am I...'' I said as I woke up just outside the fence of a huge manor. In the middle of a forest. A man in a black uniform came out of a path in the forest and walked up to me.
I looked down and said,''Who... Am... I...? Who Are... You?''
The man in the black uniform said,''My name is Ken. Do you have a name?''
I still looked down and said,''.... No.''
''No? Why are you all alone... Next to the ''haunted mansion''...? Where are your parents?''
'' Alone? Parents? I don't know... I just woke up.... And can't recall a thing..''
''You don't remember your parents?''
''.. I don't even know if I have any..''
''And you don't have a name...''
''...''
''What if... I give you one?'' I looked up. Ken handed me a strange orb made of light.
''Stare at it closely...'' He said. I did, and saw the word, Noel, appear in the middle of the orb.
''.. Noel..'' I said.
''That's right,'' Ken said,''I shall give you a new life. Since you don't know what happened in your past..''
''Thanks.... But what should I do now?'' I asked.
''For now... Why not stay with me? My house is in the town right at the other end of this forest. Just follow me.''
''...'' Ken walked back to the forest path and I followed. I surely had nowhere else to go. I know I had a life before this but I completely forgot about it.... So now I have started over. A new life. At least I have an identity, Noel. But my questions are not yet answered, who am I? What am I?

Monday

"That's right Noel, you have to go to school.." Ken told me. I didn't know what school was. At all.
"What is school?" I asked.
Ken said,''It's a place where every kid has to go to learn new things. Obviously, you'll need it.... A lot. Now hurry, put on your black uniform and get ready." Ken left my "room". Apparently your room was a space all for yourself.. My room was pretty simple, a bed in the top left corner, a closet in the top right corner, and some drawers seperating the two. That was it. As I said, simple.... And small. But I really didn't care. The black uniform was on top of my bed. It was.... Pretty much all black except for the collar.. Which had red and yellow stripes. The uniform had short sleeves too.. I quietly put it on, and left my room. Outside my room was a really short hall, behind me was my room. To my right was Ken's room. Locked. And to my left was the bathroom. In front was the dining room, in which Ken has made breakfast. It's the same thing he makes each day... 2 eggs, buttered toast, and a piece of bacon. Although, sometimes he does add sasauge instead of bacon.
The dining room had a small table in the middle, on it was my breakfast. After I ate Ken took me to school.
As we walked to school, Ken told me,''I'm actually the principal of this school, Oak Way Middle School."
"What's a principal?" I asked.
"A principal has to supervise the school and stuff. It's... Too complicated for you too understand now, because of your memory.." Ken said. He then took a folded piece of paper out of his pocket and gave it to me.
"It's your schedule... It tells you where to go during the day." Ken said. I looked at it.. I had 7 classes...

.. My schedule said that my first class is a class called, ~Dark~ Math.. The word ''dark'' was in it... I wonder why?

This one was different.. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I go to Weapons Technology.. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to Dramatic Sequencing... Wierd.

You have to learn these things in school? No.. Something dosen't feel right... But, it is right in front of me. School is supposed to be this way.. I guess..
''We're here.'' Ken said. I saw it... Oak Way Middle School.. A big building with about 3 floors.. It looked new.. As it was just built a couple of days ago.. It was colored brown outside, and had dark-ish windows. All the other kids wore the black uniform too. There weren't too many though.. Me and Ken walked towards the front entrance. As we walked, I noticed most of the students staring at me... I immediately started staring at the floor when I noticed the other kids stare at me..
Ken looked at me and said,''I already have you registered and everything, and now.... We seperate.''
I said,''What? You're the only one I know. How will I-'' Suddenly an old woman came up to Ken and said,''Mr. Ken..''
Ken said,''Yes... I'm coming, but let me introduce you to our new student, Noel. I.... guess I could say I... adopted him?''
The old lady said,''Hello, Noel. I'm Ms. Whites...'' I still looked down at the floor. Not saying a word..
Ken said,''Noel.. I have to go. Uh.. Oh. Let me call one of my most prized students...'' Ken looked at a blue haired boy and said,''Cail! Come here!'' Cail walked away from the two other kids he was talking too and walked towards us.
Cail said,''You called, Mr. Ken?'' Cail looked at me and said,''Who's he?'' I still looked down.
Ken said,''Cail. This is our new student, Noel. I need you to show him around school and where his classes are. I need to go. Bye.'' Ken and Ms. Whites both walked into the building.
Cail looked at me and said,''Sooo... You're new, huh?'' I didn't answer.
''Can I see your schedule?'' Cail asked. I gave my schedule to Cail. He looked at it and said,''Cool! We both have the same exact classes!'' He then gave it back to me and said,''Well then, our first class is Dark Math, know how to get there?''
''...'' I stayed in total silence.
''You... Can speak, right?'' Cail asked. I was still totally quiet. It was an akward moment... Everything was quiet. Until suddenly a bell rang.
''That's the bell... It signals when we should go to our next class,'' Cail said, ''Let's go... Follow me..''

The two of us walked through a hall.. Lockers were in both sides... And occasionally you could see another student or two.. Again, not so many people in this school... And it dosen't make any sense for how there are 3 floors here and only a couple of students.
Cail said,''C'mon, around this corner.'' We both walked around a corner, kept walking for a little more, and found our Dark Math room.
''Why.... Is it called Dark Math..?'' I asked.
''Finally! You said something! Anyways, our classes are different than ordinary classes from other schools. We learn, yes, but we also have another thing we do... We gather darkness.'' Cail said.
''Huh?'' I asked. Suddenly, our teacher walks out of the classroom door.
Our teacher said,''Cail.. And... ah, you must be the new student, Noel. Ken already sent me your student info and stuff.. Come in.'' We both went inside our Dark Math classroom. A room filled with darkness... All the windows were blocked.. And all the lights were turned off.... Speaking of darkness.. What did Cail mean by us having to gather ''darkness''? I sat in a desk right next to Cail. Since I didn't know anyone..
Our teacher closed the door and said,''Good morning, class. Today we have a new student, Noel.'' The entire class, or to say, 11 other students, all looked at me. They ranged from a kid with a scar... To a kid with a creepy smile.. Wierd and strange people they are....


... The rest of the day was the same, learning all about the different subjects the respective class had to offer. I can't explain it all... I just have to say that the subjects were somehow combinations of fighting and ordinary subjects.....


Day 8

Again, strange... Everyone here is very strange..


I''ll skip ahead to my Dark Math class. The only interesting class today.
Anyways, today we practiced our basic mathematical skills. Ms. Baik explained to me how to do problems like these:

and
8 ÷ 4
After learning these Math problems. Ms. Baik said,''Okay, class. Noel is new here, as you know. So we need to train him for the other half.....

.. Of our Math Class.. The ''Dark'' part..'' What's with these people and darkness?
Ms. Baik said,''So we'll make a small trip to the underground train station to teach him all about collecting darkness.. So prepare your things to leave. I'll write up a pass in case you're late to your next class.''
As we prepared to leave, I turned to Cail and asked,''Remember yesterday... When we were talking about why this class had the word ''Dark'' in it?''
Cail said,''Yeah?''
I said,''What were you going to say about us collecting darkness? You know... When Ms. Baik interrupted us?''
''Oh. This school is special because we do more than just learn. We our also a team that travels into another dimension to collect darkness... We don't know why we have to, but it is fun. And it makes school... Not so boring.'' Cail said as he put all his things into his backpack. A big bag in which you put things in.. Cail explained that to me yesterday in my fifth class. I don't have one yet... But Ken said he would buy me one soon.. Whatever that means.
''How exactly do we collect darkness?'' I asked as we both stood up.
''Don't worry, we'll explain it all in these tutorials they give for every new kid.'' Cail said as we all walked out of the school.
Once we were outside, Cail said,''Ah... TwinSide Town's fresh air..'' Apparently this town's name is TwinSide.. ''Fun fact, Noel. This town is built on a huge platform on the side of a huge mountain. Look up there...'' Cail pointed up at the big hill overlooking the town. On the bottom part of the hill were some more buildings from town.
Cail continued,''That's the upper area of the mountain we're on.'' All of us suddenly came across a rail.... There was nothing beyond the rail... But if you looked down, you could see more of the mountain and a large body of water...
''Why is there so much water over there?'' I asked.
Cail replied,''What? You don't know what the sea is?''
''The... sea?''
''You know.. Come to think of it... I just noticed that you've been asking a bunch of questions about basic stuff... Like.. You didn't know your basic mathematics.... Were you hit in the head or something?''
''No..... Ken found me beside a mansion... I woke up and couldn't remember a thing.''
''What do you mean?''
''I was just born 8 days ago... Like.... A birth by sleep... I had a life before this. But I can't remember anything from that life at all... Just a couple of basic stuff..''
''Hm... That's a little strange... I wonder what your past really was like...'' All of a sudden we made it to the entrane of the station.
Ms. Baik said,''Let's go in, class.'' The entrance was a stairway in a large building that took you underground. The building had a yellow-ish tint. No windows. I wonder what this tutorial is all about... And all this darkness stuff..

We all then went into the underground station. Down the stairs... Around a corner... Across a hall.... And into a small room.
Ms. Baik then said,''Noel... This part of class, or should I say, the school, is all about trying to collect darkness.'' The entire class looked at me. Everyone was so quiet... As if they were never there... Are they... Real? Or not? I looked at Ms. Baik.. And decided to actually speak for the first time.. To ask what they mean about darkness.
''... What is... Darkness?'' I asked.
Ms. Baik said,''This..'' She took her hand out and made a black orb appear. ''This is the darkness. In order to collect it.. You'll need to be trained in physical ability..'' Huh? ''Jump up at that platform over there..'' Ms. Baik said as she pointed her finger at large stone brick. About 4 feet tall.. Above the brick was an entrance into another room... But it was blocked off by a gate. I walked up to the brick and attemped to jump to the top of it. It was too tall... I couldn't do it.
Ms. Baik said,''Class... Demonstrate.'' Suddenly all the students jumped up onto the brick. Then back down. How did they jump so high?
''You see... These students jumped high because they took a bite of a special mushroom..'' Ms. Baik said as all the students took out a bitten mushroom from their pockets and held it up in the air.. The mushrooms' top part's were red with white dots.. The bottom part had two eyes...
''If you want to jump high... Bite a piece of that mushroom..'' Ms. Baik said. I was confused... Which mushroom was I supposed to eat. I looked at Cail, and took a step towards him.
''No. If you want your own mushroom.. You'll have to look around the station for a chest we hid that is full of those mushrooms. You have to look for it by yourself. Without any help.'' Ms. Baik said. The three students blocking the exit to this room stepped aside... And I knew that I had to look for that mushroom.... With that, I left.
To my left, is a corner that took you to more of the hall. To my right, is where we came from and a room blocked off by a gate. I decided to go around the corner..

I followed a hall. All the rooms were blocked by gates. I wonder why? Another thing I noticed is that there is nobody here... I walked around another corner... Walked up some stairs... And saw it. The chest full of ''special'' mushrooms. I carefully opened it, picked up the white dotted mushroom, and took a bite out of it.
...
It tasted... very good actually. I ate the rest of my mushroom and thought of eating more, so I tried to grab some more mushrooms, but the chest then immediately closed itself.. I was unable to open it. Where did they get those mushrooms? I then felt a power surge through me.. I jumped. The jump was higher than before..
I returned to the room where everybody else was and jumped to the top of the brick.
''Very good, Noel.'' Ms. Baik said. Suddenly everyone clapped.
''Where did you get those mushrooms..?'' I asked.
Ms. Baik said,''We got them from another dimension.. A very strange dimension.''
After that we all left.. I skipped almost the entire second class. But my teachers somehow understood why and didn't say anything.
What Ms. Baik said... About another dimension. How did they get to that other dimension... It makes no sense. The rest of the day was the same. But I know that my other classes will be different later. Very different.

Day 9

Wednesday

Mr. Daniff and Ms. Inseaver.... My teachers for my second class.. A band class. The room was larger than my Dark Math class. The western wall is used only for storing instruments. The southern wall had two windows, some posters about guns.. And a drum set blocking off some of the posters. The east wall had a computer and the north wall had two doors. In the middle were a bunch of chairs all lined up. Some kids were already sitting down in the chairs. Cail sat down with his friends... I got my Trombone that I have been assigned to play and sat down in the second to last row. Ms. Inseaver locked herself up in one of the rooms in the northern wall as always... And Mr. Daliff stood up in front of the chairs.
He said,''Class... Today we are going to learn about the other thing our instruments can do other than play music.... The ''deadly'' part..'' Mr. Daliff then notices me and says,''Noel... You're probably not going to understand this without a tutorial...'' He then looks at a boy with long brown hair and a bow... ''Marel. Please teach Noel outside about how to properly use these instruments..'' Daliff said.
Marel stood up and said,''Will do,'' He looked at me and said,''Let's go, Noel.'' I stood up with my Trombone and followed Marel outside.
We ended up in a small field of grass.
Marel took out his instrument, a Flute, and said,''Our instruments are not only designed to play...'' Marel pressesd a switch on his Flute which caused two blades to appear from opposite ends.
He then said,''They are also used to kill.''
''... Kill.... ?'' I said.
''Yes. Do you know how to turn your Trombone into a weapon?'' Marel asked. I stood still and quiet looking at my Trombone... Wondering how to turn it into a weapon.
Marel said,''Like this.'' He pulled a small lever on top of the Trombone which turned the slide into a sword..
Marel then said,''Let's try it out.. We use these weapons to gather darkness, and in order to get darkness we have to kill whatever we find... In that other dimension. We have to destroy everything.''
''What is the other dimension?'' I asked.
''It's.... Some type of Kingdom filled with wierd mushrooms and stuff... We discovered it when we entered a strange green pipe..'' Marel said.
''So... What do I have to do now?'' I asked.
''You need to practice your fighting skills... Against these wooden dummies.'' Marel said as he approached a switch in the floor and pressed it. This caused wooden dummies appear from the floor all over the field of grass.
''Slash them with your trombone to pieces. If you do, darkness orbs will appear. I need you to collect 10 of those orbs for practice.'' I ran up to the wooden dummies and stabbed onr of them. I jumped over to another one and sliced it in half. I ran to three dummies lined up in a row and stabbed the first one, then kicked it towards the next one. After that I created a spin attack that destroyed the last dummy in the row. Surrounding me were five black orbs, the darkness orbs. They all flew towards Marel.
''Doing great, Noel!'' Marel said. I slashed another dummy. Then jumped up and stabbed another one. The last three were also in a row too. I sliced the lower area of the next dummy and kicked the dummy up. I jumped up and hit the dummy with the non-sharp part of my trombone making it head towards the other two and destroying them. The final five orbs flew towards Marel.
He said,''Good job! Marel! I think class is over by now so let's head back...''

While heading back I started thinking.. What is that Mushroom Kingdom all about? And why do these guys want darkness so much?

Day 10

September 10

My third class really isn't that interesting... Just a regular science class while sometimes making potions for ''The Later Trips''... Something Ms. Jenxion said.
Although, today, my ordinary 4th class, technological stuff. Today we have to construct a blade with electric power. Now, I know my schedule said I had dramatic sequencing today, but Mr. Holl wasn't here today.. And so I had to go here.
As I entered the classroom, Ms. Herx greeted me telling me to sit down in one of the three tables in the center. The tables were surrounded by computers, one for each student. We all designed our ''Electrical Blade.''
Ms. Herx said,''This blade... You may all keep it for your own personal protection. Dissmissed.'' So... That's what I did. I put my sword in my pocket. A small white sword with a blue wire wrapped around it to give the victim a shock while he/she is hit or something. There is also a brown plastic handle so that I won't get shocked also. At the bottom of the handle is a switch that turns the electricity on or off. It's off right now, that's why I didn't get shocked by electricity when I put the sword in my pocket.
My next class.. Dark Arts. Normally an Art Class, but today was different. We had to draw a magical spell... And make it come to life.
Ms. Taix, my teacher, said,''Today we're going to make a magical spell..'' A blue haired kid, darker hair than Cail's, said,''... Using those special markers!'' He pointed to a box that said,''Create your very own spells!'' The dark-blue haired kid then said,''I can read peoole's minds. I just read yours. And that's what you were about to say... Isn't that right... Dexy Taix?''
Ms. Taix said,''Yes.... How did you-''
''Read your mind? I'm psychic. I can't pick up things with my mind, but I can hear other people's thoughts.'' He turned to me, pointed at me and said,''New kid... Let's see what your name is....'' He tried to read my mind, but I could see him struggle.. ''That's strange...'' He said as he started concentrating harder,''I can't... Read your mind..''
Ms. Taix, with a louder than usual voice, said,''That is enough, Tatele. Anyways, today we are going to create the original Fire magic spell. It's simple. Using the markers Tatele pointed at you shall draw a picture of a small flame. If you carry the picture around with you.. You'll be able to throw fire from your hands by yelling out fire. Do not worry, the building itself cannot catch on fire because of the special walls it's built on. Now, begin.'' I turned to look at Tatele and noticed he was frowning at me... Was he still trying to read my mind?
