The Spirit Of Music - CHAPTER 1 DONE!!

Postby Avo » March 27th, 2010, 4:23 pm

I make A LOT of forum stories, but I'm trying something different. Here's a real-life story for ya! Enjoy!

===============================================================================================================================================================================================================

I apologize for the short prologue....

Prologue

Ever since I was born that day, I loved music, LOVED it. Every time I heard it, any kind of music, I would feel the rhythm and sing or dance along to it! My parents knew that one day, I would become a famous rock star! Well, not necessarily rock. Like I said. I love all kinds of Music. And I could tell that there are some other kids out there who like all kinds of music, rock, pop, classic, country, instrumental, you name it! My name's James, James McConnell. And I'm a tunaholic! Or simply a music lover! And this is my story......

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It all started when I was born, the doctor pulled me out and I started to cry, just like every baby does. I opened my eyes as I was still crying and I saw my parents, George and Maureen, they were smiling at me. Then I stopped crying and faintly smiled back. A few nights later, my parents and I were driving home. The motion of the car was soothing and made me fall asleep. When we got home, my parents took me to my room. It was almost midnight and I was dead tired. I guess my parents couldn't see it then, you know, how much I loved music, until a few months later.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were all driving to our cousins' house, it was around 1:00 PM when my mom turned on the radio. That's when Leave Before The Lights Come On by the Arctic Monkeys came on. Of course, I was asleep. I like the motion of the car moving. But I woke up to that song. I liked that song, then I started dancing to it in my car seat. No one noticed until my mom looked back to see if I was still asleep, when she saw me she started laughing about how cute I looked. We stopped at a traffic light when my mom said: "George, look!" My father quickly looked back and saw me dancing to the song. He started to laugh at how cute I looked, too. The light turned green and my parents were still watching me, so they didn't notice until the cars behind honked at us. Then my dad quickly started driving away as I laughed. Trust me, if you were there, you'd laugh, too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So If you were to ask what my favourite song was. It would be Leave Before The Lights Come On, and the Arctic Monkeys would be my favourite band. But I still like every band and every song out there! So it's hard to play favourites. Anyway, I'll be starting Pre-school in a few months, so I better get ready for that.....

Chapter 1

Today was the day I start Pre-school. Personally, I think pre-school is a HORRIBLE idea. I mean....you start learning things when you're flippin' 3 years old! But i guess it's a good way to make friends, right? So I might as well grin and bear it. As I
enter the doors, with my mom holding my hand, I see other kids running around and having fun. The pre-school teacher, Mrs. Miller approached us. I was VERY shy so I hid behind my mom's leg. "So this is James. Hi James! Nice to meet you! I'm Mrs. Miller, your teacher!" She said as she held out her hand, wanting me to shake it. Of course I didn't because I was shy, and also for the fact that I don't know how to shake hands. "He's very shy." My mom said. "He doesn't like it when I'm not around." That's a true fact, one time my mother just left the room to go to the bathroom and I started crying. So this whole Pre-school thing is gonna take a while to get used to......."He's a BIG fan of music. He always dances around when he hears a song." My mom said. "Oh that's nice! He have a lot of music games so he'll enjoy that!" Mrs. Miller said. Pre-school was just about to start so my mother gave me a hug and left. "MOMMY NO!" I said because I didn't want her to leave. "Don't worry, James." My mom said. "I'll be back in a few hours. You'll have fun. I promise!" After that she left and of course! I start crying. As I'm crying I hear the other kids laughing at me. Yeah sure, like they never cried in their life, eh? I can understand that. Mrs. Miller tried to calm me down but I kept crying, so she picked me up and sat me down in the circle where everyone else was. Eventually, I calmed down, and then I listened to Mrs. Miller talk.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"OK everybody!" she said. "I know you're all gonna have a great time today! Today we are gonna Start our Make-a-friend program! Everyone will pair with someone else and make friends! Then we're gonna play some music games and then play outside!" Music? Alright! Something tells me I'm gonna enjoy this! "OK so everyone find a partner and get to know them, and remember. Have fun!" Mrs. Miller said. This Make-a-friend program sounds interesting, so the first person I saw was this girl. The ONLY THING I WANTED TO KNOW WAS: "Do you like music?" "Um, what's moosic?" She said. I just left right after I heard that. I can't really blame her, I mean, when you're 3 years old, you don't know a lot. So I looked for someone else and I found this boy. I went over to talk to him and again, I asked: "Do you like music?" "Music? I love music!" He said. Well I can tell I'll get along with him.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"So um, what's your name?" I asked him. "Max, what's yours?" He asked. "James, so, what's your favourite band?" "The Arctic Monkeys, I really like their single Leave Before The Lights Come On." OH. MY. GOD. I feel like I'm actually gonna faint. This guy is exactly like me! Well, I'm better looking but still. "No way! They're my favourite band, too! And that's my favourite song!" "Really? That's awesome!" He said. As Max and I were talking, we heard someone laugh behind us. We looked back and saw this big guy staring at us. He looked mean, so I didn't wanna get near him. Apparently, this guy was thinking of a plan to embarrass me. Why me? I don't know. He's a bully, that's what bullies do.....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I never knew what this guy was thinking but I didn't want to look too much into it. Besides, it's time for the music games! But as this went on, I realized this wasn't the music I thought it would be. I thought it would be REAL music. But, I guess Ring Around The Rosie is still music, am I right?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The musical games are over and I have to say, I loved it! And now it's time to play outside! Remember that bully that was snickering at me and Max? Well that "plan" of his was gonna be unleashed during recess, ON ME. Anyways, me and Max were playing on the swings until I saw a quarter. I know the whole "a coin on the floor is lucky if you pick it up" deal, so I picked it up. Bad idea. Apparently, the coin was put there by that bully. He was behind me, if only I knew what he was gonna do, and then, SPLASH!! That bully pushed into the mud. Everyone in the playground was laughing at me, except Max, who was very angry at the bully. "Hey! What did you do that for?" Max said. "Move it, shrimp!" The bully said, then he punched Max on the nose. He started bleeding then he cried, but I was too busy cleaning myself from what he did to notice. Everyone was still laughing, then Mrs. Miller heard what was happening and came outside. "Henry! Never ever punch people! I'll be calling your parents and telling them what you did!" She said. I guess that's his name, Henry. Mrs. Miller didn't know EVERYTHING that Henry did. She thought he just punched Max but he also pushed me into the mud! Well, she didn't know that. I was still lying in the mud when Mrs. Miller looked over and saw me. "James! Get out of the mud!" She said. After she took Max inside to see if he was OK, everyone burst out laughing again, at me. Geez, could this day get any worse?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, it did. Once I finally cleaned myself from that "mud incident", I saw an Ambulance parked in front of the pre-school. It turns out Henry broke Max's nose when he punched him, poor Max, that must hurt. And Henry finds that funny what he did to Max. Ooh! Someday I'll get him back from what he did!

I can't really rate it yet, but I have to say this story is the most grounded in real life that I've seen yet here.

Wow…this kid writes really well for a pre-schooler! I kid. Yeah, like MOY, it's a little early for me to form an opinion about this. We'll wait and see, I suppose…
