Prelude

Brie woke up to a water drop on her cheek. It was chilling. Another drop landed on her cheek. She sat upright in the bed, staring at the ceiling. A noticeably dark spot on the ceiling gave her an odd feeling. This couldn't be possible, for Emily's room was just above hers. It was like this because she loved Emily a lot, and always wanted to make sure she was safe. Brie tried shaking Jeremy awake, but with no success. She decided to investigate the matter herself. Opening the door, she called out to Emily, wondering if she would be the cause of this wet nonsense. But after taking one step her foot contracted like a snake. The floor was wet. She could see the moonlight reflecting off the stream of water flowing carelessly down the steps of the stairs. This was now an emergency, according to Brie. She quickly made it up to the door to Emily's room, careful not to slip on the water. It was obvious that there was some source of water coming straight from the room, as it was leaking heavily under the door.

Brie's eyes were wide open in fear of what could possibly be behind the door. She gripped the doorknob with a shaky hand, slowly saying Emily's name, trying to reach to her child. As she turned the knob and pushed against the water, a wave of one foot came rushing out of the room. Brie stood her ground though, also holding onto the door frame. Pencils, paper, and some clothing washed out of the room and into the hallway. Oh my god! she thought. Emily was not in sight, rather a soaked floor replaced her presence in this moment. Brie cried out for Jeremy, and began dialing Emily's phone. The ringtone was heard on her desk where her homework was partially completed. Jeremy hastily made his way to Brie, cautious of the water.

"Brie, what in God's name happened here? And where's Emily?" he asked with a stern fatherly concern.

"I don't know, but we have to call the police! Something terrible could have happened to her!" Brie replied in a shaky voice, in a shaky body.

That night was a mark on Emily's journey.

My comment would spoil the story: show
I'm guessing Emily turned into water or something.

Chapter 1: A Dark Place

White noise woke Emily from her slumber. She had been sleeping on a white platform, with a straight path leading to sphere. As she got up, she observed the chaos surrounding the area. Notebooks filled with curse words, pencils, stray homework assignments with "F"s stamped in red on them; these were all flying around the platform. Emily retracted her arms to her chest.

"What is this place..." she wondered, hardly able to comprehend the situation. As she took a step backwards, one of the pink notebooks slammed against her back, causing her to fall forwards. After that, another notebook crashed into her shoulder. Then paper balls started berating her head. She screamed loud into the void, upsetting further the assembly of school supplies. More and more items came flying at her. I wish Michael was here to save me she thought.

"Hey!" a voice shouted, scaring off the notebooks and paper balls. Emily turned her head, and recognized the figure standing halfway down the walkway. It was Michael, unsurprisingly. She couldn't believe what had happened, but was too scared to ask.

"Michael we have to get out of here!" she shouted back, getting back onto her feet. The notebooks and sheets of paper were close by, aiming for Emily, ready to lunge at her and bring her down once again.

"I don't know what that means! How are you doing?" Michael asked, unaware of the danger. Emily started to run towards him, with the notebooks chasing her closely. She took Michael by the arm and they ran towards the white sphere. Once there, she touched it. There was a sort of chill to it, but not exactly cold. One of the failed homework sheets crumpled itself up and whacked against her face.

"Gahh! What even is this place?! I have to get out!" Emily shouted in angst. The notebooks once again began beating against her. She was screaming loudly, shouting for Michael to help. Although, Michael couldn't help. Eventually she figured that they weren't really hurting or bruising her. After a moment of realization, Emily calmed down enough to stand back up. The notebooks and papers and pencils backed away. A look of calm flushed her face, showing an improved motive. She touched the sphere once again, but this time with confidence. A doorway faded away and she stepped in, leaving Michael behind. He waved goodbye, and Emily had a smile on her face.

In a flash of white light, Emily reappeared on her bed, in her sleeping position. The water in the house evaporated instantly, clearing any damage done. The police, and her parents, noticed the sudden miracle. One police officer was scouting the upstairs, and found Emily on the bed.

"She's in here! Brie, Jeremy; Emily has been found!" he shouted. The couple ran to Emily's room. The moment Brie set eyes on Emily she shouted her name and gave her a hug, waking her up. Emily was as confused as everyone.

"What happened, where did you go, are you okay?!" Brie asked quickly, not giving Emily a chance to respond in time.

"I... I don't know what happened. I was in here, and then I got overwhelmed with my schoolwork and..." she said timidly.

"And what? What happened?? Emily please tell us, we need to know." Jeremy said in a stern but worried voice.

Emily responded "I was transported to a dark place, where notebooks and papers were attacking me. Michael was there too... that's all I remember"

"We're just glad you're safe. We can talk about it later. Thank you officers." said Brie, once again hugging Emily. Jeremy embraced the two as well.

Spoiler: show
I know this was kinda short but that's how the story's gonna go. I can't write extended scripts...
