This little composition was actually a homework. I had to use some real people's names (not all), which made the end quite... awkward. I was only supposed to write up to 120 words, but the first draft had 350 and this one has 237 =p
So, without further ado...
It was a cold morning on December 13. Nora walked out to her apartment's balcony. The sun would only liven up the skies for eight hours, but at that Friday, it didn't rise at all. The young lady couldn't resist the yearning to know what was happening and ventured into the darkness.
As she walked through the asphalt surface covered on snow flakes, it seemed like half of the town’s inhabitants had just left. She was petrified. Oxford used to become a quiet city by then, but this time was different.
Then, she noticed a shadow approaching. Nora gasped when she realized that the lonely woman behind her was Lilly, her younger sister, although she didn't look normal at all. She had a glowing grin on her face, her skin was as pale as cotton wool, and held a knife on her right hand.
"You got your hands burnt this time, sister. Never will you forget this lesson, I assure you, like a silver blade easily cuts through a cake." Suddenly, a second person walked towards Nora, but she was too distracted with her maniac sibling about to kill her.
It was actually Philip, one of her teaching colleagues, holding a chocolate cake on his hands. Even though it wasn’t her birthday, he bought it to celebrate Lilly’s return. The three of them then walked back to Nora’s apartment, laughing as the solar light escaped the eclipse.
