SEASONS
DARREN’S WINTER
Winter was a fun, chilly season. Birds heading home for the season, snow falling
steadily, as brisk winds blew the flakes sideways, and people played in the snow.
Yes, old man winter has returned.
Darren woke up excitedly. He heard children screaming, as he opened up his
curtains.
Darren smiled brilliantly in awe,
He blasted down the stairs, and yelled, “Mom! Mom! It’s snowing!”
His mom jumped off her couch, “Really? Already?” She looked. White fluffy stuff
coming down.
Now she screamed in elation, “Let’s go outside, and have some serious fun!”
Darren had never seen his mom this cheerful before. He grabbed his sweater, and
watched her from the view. His mom dived into the pillows of snow. She didn’t get
one bit of scratch. That’s how much snow fell in 24 hours.
Darren’s sweater wasn’t enough to protect him from the freezing cold. He raced
inside, and retrieved his coat. He went outside once again. He had so much fun, he
barged out the door, as quick as the wind.
“How do you think of pleasure?” Darren asked, smiling,
“Not bad. Not bad. Being boing is boring though.” She answered, “But it is
important to my motherly nature.”
“I’m glad you like it.” He said, as they created snow angels, snowmen, and snow
forts.
Going inside, after they played for a hour and so, they made hot chocolate and
made conversation. They are near the fireplace, where it can warm your heart with
its twisted heat. They watched, as the snow continued to fall, slowly.
A thought dawned on Darren’s mom, “Oh right.” She reported, “I almost forgot.
Christmas is three days away. We should get a tree.”
Christmas was Darren’s favorite holiday. It makes Darren’s winter more
exhilarating, for him at least.
They dressed up, and they gone to their car. Darren’s mom didn’t have her key, as
she noticed. She rummaged through her purse. Nothing. She bolted back to the
house, captured the key, and dashed back to the car.
They screamed, in a happy way, “HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!”
The other people replied, “HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!”
Darren and Darren’s mom went shopping for a Christmas tree. They can hardly
wait.
