Once upon a time, there was a fox who lived in a small cottage at the edge of a wood. One day, the fox got a letter from his friend. It read-
'My dear friend, I'm missing you. Would you like to come over for a visit?
With love
Your friend.'
So he set out for his journey, along the dense jungle to his friend's house. There was very little food and water for the fox. But he didn't give up and carried on and on, for about three days.
On the fourth day, he came across a lake. There was some inscription on the bank of the lake, which was written in very sacred language. The fox couldn't understand the writings, so he didn't care about it. He quickly lapped up the water in the lake, and carried on for his travel.
Few hours later, the fox began to move slower and slower. He couldn't walk fast. He began to feel tired. Soon he completely stopped walking. He felt his eyes and body has begun to dry up. And eventually the fox lay on the ground, as still as dead.
His body was washed away in the sea. He was unable to swim. Slowly and slowly, his body dissolved, turning into water.
Then comes the scene of a kingdom. A river flowed within the kingdom, which supplied water to the reservoirs. A swan, sitting at the edge of the reservoir, drank some water from it. The swan smiled. And do you know who this swan was, and what did the water contain?
The swan was God and the water contained the dissolved fox who turned into water.
Explanation: The inscription in the story stated that God's kingdom resided near the lake. Due to man misusing the Earth's resources, the kingdom in the story had to shift to heaven. If this kingdom gets destroyed by man, the whole planet would get destroyed. The lake is the only piece of the kingdom remaining on Earth. When the fox drank the water in the lake, it gave him the route to enlightenment.
In the above story, the fox had to endure a lot of hardships i.e. lack of life resources. In spite of these hardships, the fox managed to cross the wood. God felt very happy, so God decided to free the fox from all future hardships. When God (the swan near the reservoir) drank the water, which contained the dissolved fox, the fox became one with God, and thus attained enlightenment.
