Vocaloid Topic

While this does not qualify as new news at all, I still think this should be something that all of you should take a look at.

The Japanese have made a lot of crazy things, but the fact that they have this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UzuCVDZSv0&feature=fvst

Definitely tops as one of their best works. A Projection. YES. A Projection has made thousands of people swarm the ticket offices to watch virtual people sing.

What are you thoughts? I personally enjoyed the music, but is it really necessary to sell this for a concert?

I want to go to Japan even more now. @_@

I suppose calling it a concert is a bit cheap since its basically a lip-syncing hologram, but I guess it would still be entertaining to see an anime character moving around on a stage in a 3D form.

Well actually, it's a program called Vocaloid. The sounds were originally human, but they did something with the recorded person's speeches and made the song out of that.

. . . *searches Vocaloid on google*
Okay then. But the synthesized song is coming from a speaker, right? The hologram was programmed to lip-sync it?

Or is it actually 'singing' it?

True, but I dunno, lipsynching just implies something... Worse. Eh, anyways, Japan has found an easy way of entertaining folks, and the good thing is, if the singer is a snob, they can just reprogram her.

Ohai Bump. I'm changing this to the VOCALOID topic for everyone to share their Vocaloid goodies.

Speaking of which...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwJ_tkgx ... re=related
I found this thing called MikuMikuDance, which is basically a program to make 3D models dance to songs and such, and while I see some of them as a bit too robot like, there are some very good ones out there. This one doesn't have dancing, but it was still very excellently made.

THE CREED: Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.
"...That's rather cynical."

"It would be if it were doctrine, but it is merely an observation of the nature of reality.
To say that Nothing is True is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shephards of our own civilization.
To say that Everything is Permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious...or tragic."
-Ezio Auditore da Firenze explaining the Creed, 1514, Masayaf.
