Movie Topic

Postby MICrophone » December 8th, 2009, 12:29 pm

Talk about movies here! Your favorites, your least favorites, movies you've seen recently, anything you want, as long as it's about movies! Actors, actresses, and directors are also fair game…

Favorite Movies:

The Blues Brothers - Hilarity, Car Crashes, and Rock n' Roll. Doesn't get better than that.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Because everybody loves skipping school…
Arsenic and Old Lace - Haven't heard of it? Directed by Frank Capra and starring Cary Grant…from 1944. A really good slapstick.
True Lies - I AM ARNOLD!!! I'M GONNA BE MY USUAL BAD-ASS SELF WHILE BEING FUNNY AT THE SAME TIME!
Monty Python and the Holy Grail - What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Monty Python and the Life of Brian - Alien abduction scene is the most hilariously random of all time…
Crimson Tide - An intense drama right there. Really effective because so much is at stake, I think.
The Return of the Pink Panther - From the original series.
Life is Beautiful - Awesome Italian film. Bring tissues, cause you'll laugh so hard you'll cry in the first half and then the second half is heart-wrenching…
Iron Man - Cause Tony Stark is awesome.
Arlington Road - Talk about a perfect set-up…
Airplane - "Surely you can't be serious?" "I am serious…and don't call me Shirley."
The Dark Knight - You don't get a better villain than that. You just don't.

Those are just a few off the top of my head. Yeah! So discuss! :D

Yeah…LOTR is good…but it's been so long since I've seen them, so I can't honestly say I remember them well enough to put them in my favorites. You should also read the books if you haven't already…they're very good too.

I've read the books! Tolkien was a genius.

Another great film: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Halaxy.

I heard the film was only OK…but I've read all five books. They are the funniest books I've ever read.

Anyway, let's hear some other voices!

Oh crap…knew I was forgetting a superhero film. *Goes and edits list.*

I didn't realize that that had been released…but it probably doesn't live up to Douglas Adams, I'm thinkin'.

Call me weird (and I am, thank you very much) but nothing beats an animated movie to me.

Except for a Marvel Movie.

But I want to see Avatar and Sherlock Holmes.

Form (25quared)
This might be like nothing you've seen before.

Don't love animation, but Marvel movies are awesome, and Avatar (directed by the same guy who did True Lies from my list) and Sherlock Holmes do look good…

Nah…stick to movies please. And Ghostbusters is cool…but isn't one of my top favorites. (But it has Dan Aykroyd, who I love from Blues Brothers.)
