This is for you people who need some help getting through Super Mario 63. It may not be necessary but I just wanted to do it. Enjoy!
Mushroom Kingdom
(Tutorial)First off all, you should read the sign the game tells you to. Then, go right. Read the sign there, then keep going. Double jump up the cliff, then jump across the broken bridge. Squash the Goombas, and go into the next area. Spin into the Bob-Ombs (making them explode) and continue on. Ground pound the boxes and swim to the right. Jump through the log bridge and triple jump up the cliff. In the next area, squash the Goomba and get Hover FLUDD. Jump onto the mushrooms and use FLUDD to get up onto the cliff there. Kill any enemies on the way and hover over the pool to the next area. Next, squash the Goomba and grab the Water Bottle. Now jump up the circle platforms and go left at the top. When you reach the sign, hover up. Talk to the Toad if you want, then keep going right. Use Hover FLUDD to help you if needed. Enter the pipe you get to.
Castle GroundsSeveral cut scenes should roll and after them you should be standing in front of the castle. Enter it and go into the door Eddie is standing by. Here, go up to the top of the room where Eddie is and enter the door there. Go back to the Sling Star room and get on the left elevator. When it reaches it's highest point, jump and spin to the left.
Castle Secret Star:
Jolly Roger BayJump into the water and hit the switch (Be wary of the suction!). Go through the newly opened passageway to the next area. Here, jump up and get Hover FLUDD and climb up those circle platforms for a red coin. Go to the right. Two red coins are there (One underwater and one hovering above the tipping logs). Grab them and continue right. Another red coin is hiding under the water in the corner. Grab it and use the circle platforms to go up (Grab any red coins you see on your way). You should have five red coins. Go up and over the high hill and drop down. Two more red coins are hiding underwater and the final one is past the second one. Grab it and shine sprite will appear.
Once you are able to move, go up to the double doors at the top of the Main Hall (The first set of doors that Eddie was standing by) and jump on top of them. If you look closely you'll see a faint outline of a mushroom. Press Up beneath it.
Castle Secret Star:
Secret of the MushroomAlrighty. Now you can get all the mushrooms here, or you can just climb up. I'm just going to tell you how to get to the shine sprite the easy way. You'll have to find all the mushrooms on your own. Ok, first you should jump on top of the moving platform and then jump onto the platform to the right. Climb up the rotating platform pyramid and go to the right. Go across all the tipping logs and circle platforms. Jump onto the moving platform and go up. Go across the tipping logs there and jump (or hover) to the top of the structure there and ground pound the boxes.
A Star Coin is hidden in the course. Take the hard path. It's right behind a large flipping platform.
Before you go into Bob-Omb Battlefield, go into the second door to the left of the castle entrance doors and jump into the wall to the right. Destroy the box and grab the Star Coin. Now exit and go all the way to the leftmost door and enter it. Jump into the painting there (go under it and press Up)
Bob-Omb Battlefield
(Course #1)
~Battle with King Bob-Omb~Welcome to the first "real" course of Super Mario 63! To start, jump into the cannon and fire yourself straight up to get another Star Coin. Now go to the right and jump up to the path above the cracked blocks. Ignore the red coin for now and keep going right. Grab Hover FLUDD (it'll be useful) and go right into the next area. When you get to the big rock, double jump onto the peg and hover up to get another Star Coin. Keep going right into the next area. Proceed climbing up the mountain. About a quarter of the way up the mountain you'll see a Star Coin floating just past the edge of the mountain. Get it and use Hover FLUDD to get back on the mountain. Keep going up the mountain until you reach a heart. Fall off the edge and grab the Star Coin, then hover back up. Keep going up. Once you get to the top, approach King Bob-Omb and he will walk toward you. Keep walking away until he throws a Bob-Omb (be careful when he jumps. He sends out a shock wave when he lands). Use your spin attack to knock the Bob-Ombs into him. If you get too close to the edge, jump over him. Knock two more Bob-Ombs into him and you'll have another Shine Sprite!
~Island in the Sky~If you got Hover FLUDD in the last mission, you can take a shortcut. Jump and hover up to the higher land in the first area. Double jump off the top of one of the logs that are stuck in the ground and hover straight up. You should go up into a higher area. If you didn't get Hover FLUDD in the last mission, it's near the end of the first area.
If for some reason you can't do the above or you want to get up to that area the way you're supposed to, then from the start keep going right until you get to the cannon in the second area. Jump onto the high path to the left of it and follow it to the left.
Either way you choose to get to this area, keep going left and jump onto the moving platform. Ride it up and then jump onto the next one. Keep going up until you reach the Wing Cap (White Star) and jump into the cannon. Aim it just right and you can get the Star Coin up there. The floating island is to the right of the Star Coin.
~The Five Silver Stars~Get to the cannon in the second area. This time jump in and aim for the Silver Star. If done right you should get another one too. Jump into the Sling Star and blast up for another Silver Star. Now quickly hover to the left and grab another one. Keep going left and you'll find the last Silver Star and the Shine Sprite will appear.
~Collect the 8 Red Coins~I prefer to save the red coin shine missions for last, but sometimes it can't be helped. You can do Shine #5 now if you want. But anyway, first jump into the cannon near the start and fire yourself onto the high path for one red coin. Now drop down and destroy the blocks under the bridge to get to another red coin, then jump up through the bridge and continue to area two (grab the red coin on your way).
In the next area, grab the coin above the peg and keep going. Grab the red coin on the high path on your way to the mountain.
Keep going to the right (don't climb up) and you'll see a red coin. Go back to the high path in area two and follow it.
Another red coin is on a cloud above a Hover FLUDD box. The other is on the way to the floating island. Now drop down into the lower part of area one and get the Shine Sprite.
~Secret of the Mountain~Go all the way to the mountain. Instead of climbing it, keep going right and you'll see an outline of an entrance in the side of the mountain. Enter it. If you have Hover FLUDD, hover up to the nearby platform that has a Hover FLUDD on it to save some time. Otherwise, just go to the right and ride up the moving platform. After that, go to the right across the rotating platforms and climb the moving platforms. At the top, wait for another platform from the left to get you and ride it to the last Star Coin of Bob-Omb Battlefield. Go back to the right and ride the platforms to the right and up to get the Shine Sprite.
Now that you have completed Bob-Omb Battlefield, it's time for another secret course! From the entrance doors go right and enter the second door. Jump into the painting there.
Castle Secret Star:
Tropical IslandGo right until you reach the blue outline of the Shine Sprite. Grab the Silver Star there then dive under the water and go left for another Silver Star. Surface and go right. Climb the mini-mountain for another Silver Star and Hover FLUDD. Drop down and continue right. Dive under the mini-mountain and go left. To get the Star Coin, touch the edge of the moving platform and move away. Then quickly swim to it. Now go up and left to get another Silver Star. Be careful; touch any of the moving platforms and you'll be pushed back. Anyway, once you get that one, go right. Same thing over here, just you'll be pushed up instead of right. Once you get that Silver Star, the Shine Sprite will appear. Surface and go left to get it!
Now you could go face Bowser, but I think it would be better to finish up the courses on the first floor first. But right now, enter the star door at the top right of the Main Hall. Jump onto the platform and go to the 3rd Level Designer painting. Triple jump into the wall and climb up to get another Star Coin. Now go into the second door to the left of the main entrance doors. Then jump into the painting there.
Snowman's Land
(Course #2)
~The Snowman's Head~Now things start to get a bit tricky here. You can go either right or left, but I suggest going left. Grab Hover FLUDD and go to the icy platform with the ice moving up and down. Jump down, duck, and press C when the ice starts going up. Then quickly press up and right to get out before you get squished. Squash the Goomba and go up the snowy cliff. Use Hover FLUDD to get past Chief Chilly, then keep going left. Once you get to the Snowman, jump up and start climbing it. Jump onto the mountain rocks and jump onto the platform to the right. Hop over the....(what exactly are those things called?)snow pushers? I dunno. Anyway, get past them and get up the wooden incline. Use the moving platforms to continue climbing the Snowman and once you get off of them, keep going left. Jump up the flipping platforms and continue right. Bounce on the penguins over to the Sling Star, but don't jump into it. Instead, hover over it and grab the Star Coin. Now jump into the Sling Star and shoot up. Keep going left and climb up the moving platforms. Bounce across the penguins there and you'll have yet another Shine Sprite!
~The Iceblock Maze~Go left again until you get to Hover FLUDD. Now double jump (on the snow) and hover up onto the icy platform there. Then jump to the right. Now is where it gets a bit difficult. The cracked ice are both go-through (if you know what I mean). Drop down, squash the Goomba, and jump up to the row of ice with the cracked block (if you're not using FLUDD I would suggest you turn it off to move faster). Go under the coins and get onto the first moving ice platform. Now go right to the next one and ride it to the top for another Star Coin (I would suggest that you try to knock the penguin off first). Go to the right when possible and get onto the last moving ice. Jump to where coins are and break the ice there. Squash the Shy Guy and jump to the row with the cracked block (use FLUDD if necessary). Destroy the block, jump up and ground pound and you'll have another Shine Sprite!
~Chief Chilly~Go left until you reach Chief Chilly. Jump onto the platform to begin. Use FLUDD and jump onto him on one side of his head. Keep doing this until he falls. Do this two more times and he's out!
~Red Coins of the Summit and Skies~If I were you I would go ahead and do Shine 5 before this. But anyway, head to the left and jump into the cannon. Aim for the cloud above and fire. Hover to the left to get a red coin and then jump into the cannon and fire yourself up again. Go left and grab the Wing Cap, then use the clouds for stepping stones to make a triple jump and then fly! Grab the two red coins in the air (grab the Star Coin if you can) and then head right to the mountains. If you still have the Wing Cap when you get to the mountains, triple jump up to the Hover FLUDD box. Grab the coin to the left and go to the right to grab another one. Go back left and use the platforms and stuff to climb up. At the top there is a red coin and another one is to the left. Grab them and head right. The final red coin is at the edge of the mountain. Grab it and the Shine Sprite will appear. Jump down and get it!
~The Secret of the Igloo~Go to the right and keep going (grab the Star Coin on your way) until you get to a house half-buried in the snow. Go right and press the switch, then grab the invincibility and dash back to the left. If you do it fast enough, you can knock the penguins down and get another Star Coin! Anyway, ride the platform up and go to the right. You should see the Igloo eventually. Climb up and ground pound the cracked ice and go in. Jump down and you'll get the metal cap. Use the platforms and such to go to the right. Grab the invisibility star and head back to the left. Go through the metal and use the Sling Star to blast yourself to get an invincibility star and go under the invisibility star and up, then jump onto the metal and jump up to the Shine Sprite!
Now head to the right-most door in the Main Hall and enter it. Jump into the painting to enter the first mini-course!
Shifting Sand Land
(Mini Course #1)
~Inside the Pyramid~This is one of my favorite courses (can't explain why). Anyway, start by heading right towards the pyramid. Go up and over the sand hill and keep going. Ignore the Star Coin for now (you'll die if you try to get it now) and enter the pyramid. Head to the right across the moving platforms and such (don't fall into the quicksand or you'll have to start over). Ride the moving platform and then jump onto the platform to the left. Keep heading left (be wary of the moving platforms) and jump onto the platform there. DO NOT MOVE while on it or you could fall off. Get Hover FLUDD and jump onto the moving platform. Now you must use the other moving platforms as stepping stones to get to the platform above. Same here: DO NOT MOVE while on it. You could fall off and have to start over. Destroy the blocks, squash the Goomba, and hop onto the green platform. Jump into the pyramid there and go left until you can't anymore. Back up a square, double jump, and hover straight up. Don't get the Shine Sprite just yet. Go to the right to get another Star Coin. Then jump back up and grab the Shine Sprite!
~Trekking for 8 Red Coins~From the start, run to the cracked block at the edge of the structure and break it open. Grab the red coin, then go to the right and grab another red coin. See that tall sandy-colored tower-thingy? Double jump and hover onto it to grab another coin, then head left. Grab the coin on the cloud, then drop down and grab the invisibility star on top of the black structure. Then shoot yourself with the Sling Star and head right to the metal cage. Grab the coin inside it, then drop to the ground. Now that you have invisibility, you can go through the hill and grab the red coin inside it. Then jump on top of the hill and grab another coin. Then double jump and hover onto the next sandy-colored tower-thingy and grab the coin there (get the Star Coin while you're at it). Now go get that Shine Sprite!
~Shining Atop the Ancient Pyramid~Enable FLUDD when you enter and head to the Pyramid. Remember the Star Coin I told you not to get? Well with Hover FLUDD you can get it without dying! Grab it and then jump onto the bridge above it. Double jump and hover into the Sling Star there to shoot yourself 3/4 of the way up the Pyramid (saves you a TON of time). Walk to the edge of the Pyramid and hover up to the next platform. The Shine Sprite is just 2 jumps away!
Now it's time to battle Bowser (dun dun dun)! Go to the top-left Star Door and enter it. Then head left.
Bowser's Trap
(In the Dark World)Go right and squash the Goombas (if desired) then jump across the moving platforms (be careful!). Jump onto the platform above and keep heading left. Jump onto the white platform and ride it up, then go to the right. Get onto the Evil Elevator and watch out for the Thwomps that come down! Once you reach the top and the elevator stops, get onto it. Once it starts moving, quickly jump back to the left platform (not required, but it helps if you fall down). Go across the tipping logs (watch out for the Bullet Bills) and jump up to the platform. Head up and then left. Don't go into the pipe just yet. Jump down where the red coin is, bounce on the Paratroopas and then go right. At the edge, jump and hover into the Star Coin. Now go up and enter the pipe. Now to fight Bowser you must dive at his tail. To do that, avoid his attacks until he jumps, then dive at his tail. Once you grab him, keep pressing Left and Right alternatively and then press C to release him. If he doesn't hit a spike ball, quickly run and dive at his tail again and throw him again. Once he hits a spike ball, he fly backwards for a bit then get back up. Do this two more times and he's out, and the key will appear. Grab it!
Once you get the key, you'll find out that it's cursed and you're sent far away!
There is a shortcut that goes straight to Bowser. From the start, go to the right a bit until you see several blocks that go up and down and a block that goes horizontal beneath them. Fall down to that block and press Down when it gets to its leftmost point.
~Red Coins~Go to the left to grab one of the red coins, then go right to the moving platforms. A gray platform is moving back and forth below the green ones. Hop onto it and let it carry you into the second red coin, then jump onto the non-moving gray platform for another red coin. Get to the platform above the green platforms and jump onto the Thwomp. A red coin is hovering above it's head, so grab it and jump off. Go left and jump onto the white platform then jump onto the circle platforms and continue right. Right before the Evil Elevator there are some Thwomps. Get onto the Evil Elevator and jump onto the last Thwomp. Run across the row of Thwomps for a red coin. Jump onto the Evil Elevator and let it take you up. A red coin is 1/4 of the way up from it. Now comes the tricky part: you have to climb the Thwomps that come down! Once at the top, jump onto the platform to the left. Keep going left for another red coin. Now jump down at the Bullet Bill base and go up. The last red coin is floating just off the edge of the green platform, so you must jump off. Grab it, then bounce off the paratroopas. Get FLUDD and walk to the edge of the platform there. Jump and hover up through the bone platforms up to the Bullet Bill base and climb up the platform for your Shine Sprite!
Outskirts of Castle Grounds
(Tutorial #2)Head to the right and jump onto the hill above. What's that grey box I wonder? It's another FLUDD! It's Turbo FLUDD! Grab it and press and hold C to blast forward with lots of power! Use Turbo FLUDD to dash across the water until you hit a hill. Now dive underwater (use Turbo FLUDD as a booster) and hit the two switches there. Once you hit both switches, a platform will appear. Surface and jump onto it. Now go right to the cloud beside the circle platform. Jump and Turbo yourself onto another cloud. Repeat (use the coins to help you). Now go into the next area. Like before, keep heading right. Another FLUDD? Yup! Rocket FLUDD! Grab it and press and hold C to rocket upwards! From the Rocket FLUDD box, rocket yourself up, then jump onto the mushroom and rocket yourself up again. Now once you land on one of the moving platforms, rocket up when it reaches it's highest point. You should land on some mushrooms. Open the Rocket FLUDD box to refill (did you know that? Each time you get a FLUDD, your water refills to the max!) and then rocket up again. Grab Hover FLUDD and go to the left. Once you reach the cloud with the sign, press Shift and rocket up to the next cloud. Then at the top cloud, press Shift again and Turbo in the direction of the coins. Grab the Hover FLUDD for a refill, then hover (or rocket) up the platforms. Then at the top, rocket up and head to the right for the Shine Sprite!
Now would be a good time to get the 16 Star Coin prize! Head to the Level Designer Room (top-right Star Door in the Main Hall) and go right. Enter the first door. Jump over to it and grab it!
Now if you didn't get the Red Coin Shine Sprite for the Dark World, I suggest you do that now. When you're ready, enter the wooden doors on either side of the main entrance doors and enter the high door. Then head to the right to the next area.
Castle Grounds:
Peach's GardenDestroy the block and get the 1-Up, then jump into the field on the right. Kamek will be there and you'll have to fight him. He'll send a lot of enemies out. Just keep killing them and eventually he'll create a King Goomba. Ground pound his head three times to get a Green Shine Sprite that's needed in the basement!
Now it's time to go to the basement! Enter one of the wooden doors in the Main Hall and enter the Star Door at the bottom.
Alright, before we go to Hazy Maze Cave, how about we do some more secret courses, eh? Go to the right. If you look closely you can see the outline of a door. Press Up in front of it for a secret course!
Castle Secret Star:
Frosty FLUDDThis is the Turbo FLUDD secret course. Anyway, go right and hop across the ice. Grab Turbo FLUDD and turbo forward until you hit a hill. Dive underwater and use Turbo FLUDD to navigate to the other side. Jump up the ice and break the cracked ice too. Go left and climb up the clouds (Be careful you don't fall. It's a long way down and an even longer way back up). Then turbo and get to the ice runway. Here, turbo and jump where the ice is curved. If you do it right, you can get the Star Coin! Anyway, jump to the ice sculpture and ground pound the cracked ice for a Shine Sprite!
Go back down to the basement. This time, go left. Don't jump into the Hazy Maze Cave painting just yet. In the ceiling just past the HMC painting, you'll see a Sling Star. Jump up into it and shoot yourself up.
Castle Secret Star:
Secret of the SkyThis is the Rocket FLUDD secret course. Here, you have to collect 8 red coins to get a shine sprite. Anyway, you get Rocket FLUDD when you enter. Go to the right until you come face-to-face with a wall. Rocket up to get a red coin. Drop down and continue right. A red coin is trapped in a draft from a pit. Jump in a grab it. Now jump back to the grass and rocket up. Now jump to the cloud above the draft. Now jump off and ground pound. Aim for the Star Coin. If done correctly you'll get the Star Coin! Anyway, from the cloud above the draft, rocket up to the moving platforms and head right. Grab the red coin and head back left. When you see an upward draft, go past it and rocket into the little section of the grass floating island to get another red coin. Now take the updraft higher into the sky (get the red coin on your way). Go left at the top. Now, dash (double tap left) toward the red coin to save some time, grab the coin and run back to the right. Jump across to the cloud and jump into the next updraft. Go right and grab the red coin on the edge of the tipping log. Now turn around and go left across the moving platforms for the last red coin. Use the final updraft to get the Shine Sprite!
Go back into the basement and jump into the Hazy Maze Cave painting.
Hazy Maze Cave
(Course #3)
~The Underground Lake~This is one of the most aggravating courses in the game because of its length. Anyway, go to the right and grab Rocket FLUDD, then continue right. Grab Hover FLUDD and go into the next area (Pit Room). In the Pit Room, jump across the bottomless pit using the moving platforms and such. At the other end, watch out for the black rolling balls! When you see three coins hovering in the air in the middle of a vertical passageway, rocket up and go to the right for a Star Coin! Drop down and go into the next area. Here, ground pound down the long drop (for safety) and grab Turbo FLUDD. Now shoot back up with the Sling Star. Drop down again, but hug the left wall. You'll get damaged a bit, but the Star Coin you'll get will be worth it. Drop down and go left. Turbo over the water to get your Shine Sprite!
~The Deadly Toxic Maze~Go back to the Pit Room but instead of crossing the bottomless pit, drop down the vertical hallway and go left when possible. This is the Side Room. Go all the way to the left and drop down the hole. Now it gets a bit tricky. Jump onto that moving platform and grab the blue coin, then drop down and run to the right and take the high path. Don't go up the moving platform there, that's the emergency exit. Now keep going right and run through the heart. The trick is to stay out of the toxic gas as much as possible. Go up from there and grab the Metal Cap. When you have the Metal Cap, you won't lose health under the gas. Run back left, drop down to the low path and go back right. Take the high path and keep going (If you return to normal you can use Turbo FLUDD to go faster). The second vertical passage on that path is the one you need to enter. Go to the right and up for a Star Coin. Then drop down, grab the Metal Cap, drop into the gas and run to the right. Jump onto the tipping log and keep going. If you fall down, use the Rocket FLUDD to rocket back up. Anyway, drop down into the passageway to the right and go to the right to get your Shine Sprite!
~The Caged Shine Sprite~From the first Rocket FLUDD box, rocket up and go right. Repeat and go into the next area. Jump across the rotating platforms. When you see an up arrow, rocket up for a Star Coin. Drop down and jump onto the moving platform when it comes by. Ride it and then jump onto the tipping log. Jump down and go all the way to the right and rocket up. Then go right into the next area. It gets a bit tricky here. You have to jump across all these moving platforms and then rocket up and over and drop down. But to make it simple, jump onto the first moving platform and rocket to the right. Land on the rotating platform and rocket up, then drop down and you have your Shine Sprite!
~Excavating the 8 Red Coins~Argh! This shine mission is so frustrating! Anyway, once you start, quickly activate Hover FLUDD and hover to the right to get a Star Coin. Keep going to get a red coin. Jump up and then rocket up through the ceiling. Go left for a red coin. Then go back to the right and drop all the way down. Go to the right into the Pit Room. Go all the way to the bottom of the Vertical Hallway and go to the right. Rocket up and go right. Now keep climbing up and getting the red coins on the way. After that you should end up in the Pit Room. Go to the right and drop down into the passageway, but hug the right wall. When you land go right and rocket up. Get the red coin and drop all the way down. Shoot yourself back up and find your way to the Side Room. The rest of the red coins are in there. Jump onto the Magic Carpet and ride it. If you see a red coin, jump off it and grab the coin, then quickly get back on. After you get the eighth coin, don't get the Shine Sprite. Drop down and jump across the rotating platform and rocket up for another Star Coin. Now drop down and get the Shine Sprite.
~The Secret of the Lake~Get back to the Turbo FLUDD near the Underground Lake. Go to the wall and rocket up and go left. Grab the Metal Cap and drop back down. Dive underwater and find a cracked block. Ground pound it and go left. Five Silver Stars are hidden here and you must find them. Dive underwater and use Turbo FLUDD for a boost. Go down and left for Silver Star #1. Go farther down for #2. From there go south-east for #3. Surface and go to the right as far as you can. Dive underwater and go down for #4 and go all the way down for #5. Now go up and left for the Shine Sprite!
From the Hazy Maze Cave painting, go all the way to the left and use the Green Shine you got from Peach's Garden to open the door. Go right and jump into the first painting you come to.
Boo's Mansion
(Course #4)
~Big Boo's Balcony~I don't like this course....anyway, go to the right and enter the mansion. Go right and enter the unlocked door. Go all the way across and enter the door there. Then go left and grab Turbo FLUDD and proceed to climb the platforms in this room. At the top-right of this room is the key needed to unlock the door on the first floor. Go back there and unlock the door. Climb up the stairs and enter the door there. Then go across the gap and grab Hover FLUDD. Enter the unlocked door. Jump across the platforms here (do NOT get the invisibility cap) and grab the key. Exit and unlock the door and enter. You'll need to climb all the way up the cable room to get the shine. Once you get to the top-right of the room, enter the second door. Go to the right and enter the double doors there. Now all you gotta do is jump to get the Shine Sprite!
~'Switch' to the Secret Room~Enter the mansion again and enter the far left door. Jump across the rotating platforms and enter the door there. Now you gotta climb the platforms in this room! Get to the top-right of this room and press the switch. Get back to the main room and enter the second door to your right. Go to the top of the stairs and enter the door there. Jump across the gap and enter the door to the right of the far left door. Go to the end of this room and jump onto the green platform. Jump onto the next one then the next one and hover up and to the left. Climb these green platforms and press the switch. Jump up and hop across the platforms there for a Star Coin! Get back to the main room and enter the 1st door on the right. Get to the top of the staircase and enter the door there. Enter the door to the right of it. Use the platforms and such to climb the room (grab the Star Coin on your way) and enter the right door. Grab the Rocket Nozzle and rocket up to your Shine Sprite!
~Basement Shine Sprite~Equip the Turbo Nozzle and enter the little house on the left. Drop down and go to the right to find the Shine Sprite. Just jump...HOLY CRAP! A Big Boo! You'll have to fight it to get the shine! You have to hit all the switches to open all the windows and then Turbo into it. Once you hit him, he'll close all the windows. Do this two more times and he's out! The Shine Sprite will appear. Go get it!
~Hunting for Red Coins~Ok, this is one of the most annoying red coin shine missions in the game and you gotta select Shine #2! Anyways, go into the basement and dive underwater. There are two passages underwater that contain red coins. After you grab those, exit and head into the mansion. Enter the far-right door and the door at the other end of the room. Rocket up the left wall and grab the coin, then go back to the main room. Enter the first door on the left side. Rocket up and grab Invisibility Cap. Jump to the right side of the room and drop through the cage (or Rocket up from the bottom) and get the coin. Return to the main room and enter the left-most door. Jump across the rotating platforms and enter the door on the other side. Run to the right wall and Rocket up to get another red coin. Activate the Green Switch and return to the main room. Enter the second door on the right side. Climb the first set of stairs and use the platforms to get to a red coin. Grab it and drop down, then enter the door at the top of the second set of stairs. Enter the door to the right and run to the right side of the room and Rocket up. Grab the red coin and head back to the main room. Stand where the big hologram doors are and Rocket up and go left. Enter the far door. A red coin is hidden here in the cable room (and so is a Star Coin). Once you find it, exit. The Shine Sprite will appear across the room. Go grab it!
~The Secret of the Library~Equip the Rocket Nozzle. Now run to the right side of the mansion. Grab the Invisibility Star and enter the mansion. Rocket up and to the left. Then rocket up and to the right. Enter the door and jump into the middle of the huge open book above the entrance. Go right and rocket up where the coins are. Use the platforms to the left to climb up the books. At the top head right across the rotating platforms. Run and grab the blue coins then quickly run out. Jump on top of the book when it's closed and jump to the platform behind it. Rocket up and use the platform to go up. At the top, go left. Grab the Water Bottle and go to the edge. When the book is closing, jump through it. Go to the left and grab the Water Bottle and jump through the top flap of the book as it is closing. Go to the left and jump onto the orange platform. Rocket up, rocket up again, and wait for the platform. Jump onto it and jump onto the stack of books. Don't get the Shine Sprite just yet. Drop off the edge and grab the Star Coin, then quickly rocket back up. Grab the Shine Sprite!
Two Star Coins were not mentioned above, so I'll just tell you how to get them here. Get up to Big Boo's Balcony and go to the left. Jump onto the moving platform and enter the double doors. A Star Coin is in that room. Exit that room and Rocket up and to the right. The last Star Coin is at the top of the mansion.
From the Boo's Mansion painting, go right. Jump into the painting there.
Wet-Dry World
(Mini Course #2)
~Top of the Town~From the start, go right and hit the switch. Use the platforms it creates to get up to the top of the structure and hit the blue switch. Now go to the left into the next area. Dive underwater and get Turbo FLUDD, then surface and start climbing up the structure using the moving platforms and such. Go right when you can and then use the platforms there to climb higher. At the top, go left. Don't get the Shine Sprite just yet. Go to the left and grab the Hover FLUDD and get the Star Coin. Then get the Shine Sprite.
~Red Coins in the Underwater City~Raise the water like you did in Shine 1 and jump into the cannon. Fire yourself in the preset direction to get into the metal cage. Go down and use Turbo FLUDD to get through the water easily. Once you get to the Lost City, do NOT get the Metal or press the switch. Go under the platform and get the Star Coin first. THEN hit the switch. Once you hit the switch, follow the arrows down to find a red coin and another switch. Hit this switch to *almost* dry out the place. See those buildings above the sunken switch? Jump on them and use the platforms to climb up and grab two more red coins. From the big circle platforms, hover up to the high switch, but DO NOT press it. Hover to the left and destroy the blocks for another red coin. Drop down through the hole and use the platforms to go down. When you find a cracked block, break it to get a red coin. Now go all the way to the right from where the low switch is. Destroy the block and grab the invisibility. Quickly run back all the way to the left and grab the coin and more invisibility. Use the platforms above the buildings above the low water switch to get to where the Rocket Nozzle is caged. Go through the cage and get it. Now drop back down. See that orange switch to the right of the low water switch? Ground pound the block and get ready to beat the clock. You'll have to go through lots of blocks and such to get to the last two red coins. Once you get them, the Shine Sprite will appear. Nab it!
~The 5 Secrets of the Shallows and Sky~Hit the orange switch to the right of the start as usual and climb the blocks. A Silver Star is accessible when the blocks have appeared. It is to the right of the blue switch on that structure. Now dive underwater and hit the switch on the ground to lower the water. Destroy the blocks to the right of it for another Silver Star. Now go left to the next area. Jump and ground pound the cracked block that's underwater and get the Silver Star there. Now if you aren't invisible, go back to the first area near where the Silver Star on the ground was and grab an Invisibility Star. Anyway, go through the cage and get the Silver Star, then jump up the circle platforms and get the final Silver Star. Hit the water switch on your way back to the first area. Rocket up and get your Shine Sprite!
Now before we head to the second Bowser area, there's one more secret course we can access. Go to the room with the Shifting Sand Land painting and jump into the left wall. If you've beaten the first Bowser, there will be a hole in the floor. Drop through it to enter the basement. Head to the right and enter the pipe to enter another secret course: Thwomp's Castle.
Castle Secret Star:
Thwomp's CastleHead to the right, under the Thwomps, until you reach a Hover FLUDD. Grab it and climb upwards, and then head left. When you reach another tower, watch out for Thwomps; they will come down in an attempt to crush you. Avoid them and use them to climb up the tower. At the top, head to the right. A Shine Sprite awaits.
From the Wet-Dry World painting, head right into the Star Door. Drop into the water and enter the door there.
Bowser's Second Trap:
The Ancient FortressJump onto the moving platform, then jump and destroy the cracked blocks. Then jump onto the island nearby (beware! It'll sink when you land on it!) and jump back onto the moving platform. Jump over the pillar of fire and jump across the fire using the platforms as stepping stones. Keep going right (jump over the pillar of fire) and jump onto the platform, which will take you up. Checkpoint! Drop down to the heart and then onto the huge circle platform. The dark gray blocks next to it will sink when you jump onto them. Quickly jump from platform to platform and jump onto the gray moving platform to the right. Continue left and take the platform up. Checkpoint! Go left and destroy the blocks. Wait for a moving platform and jump onto it. Destroy the next set of blocks and wait for the platform (beware the pillar of fire). Destroy the next set of blocks and continue left. Jump onto the sinking island and quickly jump to the next one. If you're quick enough in climbing it, you can get another Star Coin! Stand on the top and wait for the island to sink enough where you can jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself upward. Checkpoint! Continue right and grab Turbo FLUDD, then Turbo over to the platform to the right (beware the pillar of fire). Turbo onto the gray island and keep Turbo on and jump into the hole in the fortress. Destroy the Bob-Omb and grab Rocket FLUDD. Rocket up and knock the Bully off. Jump to the right and destroy the blocks. Jump down, and push and hold C at the second coin and Rocket to the right. Dash across the log bridge and enter the portal. Bowser's harder this time. He creates a shock wave when he lands and you have to throw him into 4 spike balls, not 3. And he also spits fireballs. Other than that, he's the same. And you can't spin Bowser around too long, because the platform will sink.
~Red Coins~Keep going until you reach the huge circle platform. A red coin is on the left side of it. Now keep going through to the lift. Two red coins are here; one at the ceiling and one under the lift. You'll have to step on the lift, then step off and fall down onto the red coin, then climb back up. In the next area, a red coin is where the pillar of fire is in this area. Another red coin is on the sinking hill where the Sling Star is. In the last area, a red coin is inside the area where the second pillar of fire comes up. The seventh red coin is floating just above a 1-Up that is hovering just above the lava. Drop down and hold C when you almost get the coin. The last red coin is on top of the structure. Rocket up there and get it. The Shine Sprite will appear, so grab it!
After the cutscenes, enter the castle and go into the double doors at the top of the Main Hall. Use the key you got at the Ancient Fortress to unlock the door. Go up the stairs and enter the door there, then go to the right to the cloud painting and ground pound under it.
Castle Secret Star:
The Cave of EmpuzzlementDrop down and ground pound the block and keep going down. When you hit the bottom, go right and grab Rocket and Turbo FLUDD. Keep going to the right and Rocket up where the coins are. Press the switch and go back. Surface and jump onto the floating platform, then Rocket up and to the left. Press the switch there and go right. Notice the locked cannon, but you can't do anything about that at the moment. Go to the end and dive down into the vertical passageway and grab the Invisibility Star. Go left through the cage, then go left and through that cage and go down. Then Rocket back up to the metal cage and go back through it. Ground pound the block and go to the right. Rocket up and grab the Metal Cap. Go back left, jump up through the bone platform, go left, and ground pound the underwater block. Turbo to the right and press the switch to unlock the cannons. Go back left and, using the technique you did at the beginning, get back to raising the water as high as it'll go, then jump into the cannon. Aim a bit to the left of the top-right corner and fire. You should land inside the vertical passageway. If not, jump into the cannon again and aim a little more to the left or right (depending on where you shot). Anyway, once you get in, drop down and ground pound the blocks to get your Shine Sprite!
Get up to the Upper Hallway again and enter the Star Door on the left. Jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself to another secret course: Kamek's Castle.
Outskirts of Bowser's Castle:
Kamek's CastleAlrighty. You're at Kamek's Castle. The thing to do here is simple. You just need to keep heading to the right toward his castle. The thing is, the camera moves slowly and Kamek throws stuff at you, so be patient and careful. Sometimes he drops a blue coin and you can grab it to refill health, so take advantage of that. Once you get to his castle and defeat lots of enemies, he'll summon a big bully. Just deal with it like it was Chief Chilly and you'll have a Red Shine Sprite that's needed to access the Top of the Castle!
Get back up to the Upper Hallway and jump into the painting on the left.
Lethal Lava Land
(Course #5)
~The Bully's Tower~Start off by going to the right and entering the Toad Fortress. Swim up the water on either side of the fortress and use the Sling Star to shoot yourself up to where the General is. Talk to him. When you finish, exit the fortress and start heading to the right. Once you get to the Bully's Tower, fall into the lava in front of the two Bill Blasters. Use the leap to get to the doors to the tower. Enter, grab Hover FLUDD, and start making your way up to the top of the tower. Once you get to the top, jump onto the platform to talk to him. Now battle him like you battled Chief Chilly and the Big Bully at Kamek's Castle. Once he's out, another Shine Sprite will appear!
~Into the Volcano~This can get a bit tricky. First off, you have to get to the volcano. You can go either left or right, but I suggest left. Anyway, make your way to the volcano. Once you get there, grab Rocket FLUDD and Rocket upward, then enter the volcano. Here, FLUDD's water will drain oout because of the heat, so I suggest you unequip it. Make your way to the left and down the platforms (be wary of the pillars of fire). At the bottom, keep heading to the right. After the circle platform, head to the left. Grab the Metal Cap and quickly go back right and run through the lava. Hit the switch and use the platforms to climb up. Once you get to the sign, wait for the time to run out and you to fall to a moving platform, which will take you to the left. Jump onto the next platform and then start heading left. Once you reach the Sling Star, shoot yourself up. In this next area, the lava is rising! Keep jumping from platform to platform to get to the Sling Star at the top to escape (Try to grab the Star Coin on your way)! Once you escape, the Shine Sprite will appear!
~The Lava Wheel~Start off by heading right and going past the Bully's Tower. Things get a bit tricky here. Shoot yourself up using the Sling Star and stay on the right side! They're not much more I can say...other than good luck! And try to get the Star Coin caught in the wheel too! Once you get all the Silver Stars, the Shine Sprite will appear. Get out of the wheel and go get it!
~Red-Hot Red Coins~Start off by going left. All the red coins are in this area. Ok, here we go! Keep going left (grab stray red coins on your way!) until you get to a green platform. Step onto it, then step off and grab the red coin underneath it. Then wait for it and then ride it up to the top of the structure. Jump onto the moving platform to the left and then climb the logs to the right. Two red coins are up there, as well as a Metal Cap and a Star Coin. Grab the Metal Cap and jump into the lava. Two red coins are hiding under the tipping log just to the left of the low elevator. After you get that one, get back to the second structure and go left. The final red coin is around there. Once you get all eight red coins, the Shine Sprite will appear. Grab it!
~The Secret of the Fortress~Enter the Toad Fortress and go all the way to the left. Destroy the block and get ready for a secret course. At the start, you'll have to use some of the Bullet Bills as mini-trampolines to get through here. Once you're past that, jump from platform to platform as you go upward. Now at the top go right. Here's where you really have to use the Bullet Bills. Don't forget: Use the Spin Attack to slow your descent! Extremely helpful here. Good luck with this! At the end of the horizantal Bullet Bill bounce event you'll have to use Bullet Bills to bounce vertically! Good luck! At the top, head left. Keep going left across the moving platforms and you'll eventually see your prize (try to get the Star Coin too!).
Go back to the Upper Hallway and jump into the painting to the right.
Tall Tall Mountain
(Course #6)
~Scale the Mountain~Start off by heading left. Jump into the draft and ground pound. You should be blown way high. Ground pound again and aim for the Star Coin to get it. Now start heading to the right. You could grab the Star Coin that's on your way, but you'd lose a life getting it. If you don't want to die getting it, wait until you get the Hover or Rocket Nozzle. Anyways, keep going to the right. In the next area, head right until you find a place you can go up. Jump up all the floating platforms as high as you can go, and then go left. Keep heading left until you get the Hover FLUDD. Use the updraft to rise up, then continue left. When you get to the waterfall, double jump and hover into the Star Coin, then, if possible, keep hovering until you get thorugh those logs. Then go right and climb up the platforms and then go left. Use the logs to jump up to the Shine Sprite!
~Silver Stars in the Skies~Climb up the mountain until you come to the spot where you got Hover FLUDD. When there, go up and to the right. Five Silver Stars are hidden here. Jump into the updraft to the left of the cloud with the sign to get one, then take the updraft opposite the cloud and grab the Rocket Nozzle. Rocket up from that cloud to get a Star Coin! From there go left. The rest of the Silver Stars are there. Go grab the Shine Sprite when you're done.
~Blast off to the Lonely Mushroom~Get to the area with the floating platforms with the red coins. Instead of going up, keep going right. You should see a spot with an arrow pointing into it. Jump into it and fire yourself out at the preset direction. Rocket up to the top of the mushroom there and jump to the tipping log. Rocket up and keep going right until you get to the top moving platform, then Rocket up. Rocket up again at the next point and start heading left. At the next mushroom Rocket up and left for another Star Coin, then Hover right and get the Shine Sprite!
~Red Coins of the Mountain~Head back to the area with the floating platforms with red coins (grab any stray red coins you see on the way). Six red coins are hiding in this area...find them (and grab the Star Coin here too, while you're at it). Once you find all the red coins, go collect your reward!
~The Secret of the Mountainside~Alright. Equip the Rocket Nozzle and be ready to launch. Rocket up to the floating platform beside the waterfall, then jump into the waterfall and Rocket up again. Keep Rocketing up until the next area. Then, go right and you should see a hole in the mountain. Enter it. Grab the Invisibility Star and keep going to the right (Don't destroy any of the boxes!). Hop from box to box as you proceed right. Once you get to the Invincibility Star, grab it and head back left. But now you have to jump from metal platform to metal platform while going left! Head all the way back to the start and go through the flames. Then, shoot yourself up with the Sling Star. Now you have to find five Silver Stars! You got one as you stopped spinning. Now you have to find four more! Go to the right and wait for a blue platform. When one comes, jump onto it. When it carries you up into a Silver Star, grab it and jump to the left and climb up the platforms for another one! Then wait for another blue platform. Let it take you into another Silver Star, then jump onto an orange platform and finally onto a green platform. The green platform will carry you into the final Silver Star. After getting them all collect your Shine Sprite!
Now it's time to go to the Top of the Castle! Yayz! Go all the way to the right of the Upper Hallway and use the Red Shine Sprite you got from Kamek's Castle to open the door. Then go to the right side of the room and use the Sling Star to shoot yourself up through the ceiling into another secret course!
Castle Secret Star:
A Galaxy of StarsFive Silver Stars are hidden here. Might as well start! Ok, from the start go right and jump onto the moving platform at the edge of the grass ground. Jump onto the next one and then the next one and then the final one and grab the Silver Star. Get back to the grass, jump onto the circle platform and use the Sling Star to shoot yourself onto the rotating island, then use the Sling Star on the opposite side to shoot yourself onto a cloud. Head left until you see a hole. Drop down and tip the log and slide off it onto a moving platform when it gets under the side. Jump from platform to platform and get the Silver Star there and get back out. See that water? In the top-right corner of it is another Silver Star. Grab it and head back to the 'planet' you were on. Jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself onto the big rotating island. The other two Silver Stars are there and the Shine Sprite will appear there.
Get back up to the Star Room, jump onto the clock, and jump into the clock face.
Tick-Tock Clock
(Mini Course #3)
~The Top of the Clock~This mini course can get aggravating. Anyway, go left and jump onto the moving platforms and use them to climb up, then go right. Ride the moving platform to the right (beware the pendulum) and jump to the platform on the right. Jump onto the moving platform there, then jump to the left onto the rotating platforms. Jump up them, then use the Sling Star to shoot yourself into the next area. Go left and use the Sling Star to shoot upward, then go left and then right, then left, and finally right. Ride the moving platform (beware the pendulum) to the other side and grab Hover FLUDD. Go right and climb up the rotating platforms for a Star Coin, then go left across the conveyor belts. Work your way to the Sling Star and use it to shoot yourself up into the next area. Work your way up to the clock hands at the top of the stage and ride them to the Shine Sprite!
~The Flippin' Red Coins~Make your way to the second area of the clock. Use the Sling Star to shoot yourself up and then jump into the maze of flipping platforms. Eight red coins are hiding inside it...once you have all eight, claim your prize!
~The Pit of the Pendulums~Get to the top of the first area. Instead of going right to the Sling Star, go left and hop from pendulum to pendulum to get another Shine Sprite (grab that Star Coin on your way)!
Go to the left side of the room and jump into the painting of the clouds.
Rainbow Ride
(Course #7)
~Cruiser Crossin' the Rainbow~Jump onto the magic carpet and let it carry you up up and away....oh crap! Gotta jump! Make sure you jump when the carpet goes through an obstacle, but get back on quickly! At the top, grab Hover FLUDD and jump onto the magic carpet at the top. Ride it to the next area (grab the Star Coin on your way!). Now take the Magic Carpet on the right and let it take you to the ship (be sure to grab the Star Coin). At the end, head left onto the ship and grab the Shine Sprite!
~Tricky Triangles~Keep going until you reach the first intersection. Go to the right instead of going up. Enter the next area and step onto the moving platform there. Ride it to the other side of the Tower and jump through the logs.Go to the right and jump across the triangles, then swing to the other side and jump from platform to platform, going up and then left. Then swing to the left and go up, then to the right. Jump from the first swing to second, and from there onto a triangle. Then go left and hit the switch and then go right, up, and then left. Keep going and you'll find a Shine Sprite!
~The Floating Mansion in the Sky~Head towards the Floating Ship but at second intersection and go to the left instead of to the right. Step onto the carpet and let it guide you to the mansion, but be prepared to jump off for a few seconds for an obstacle (grab the Star Coin on your way). Once inside, go to the side and grab the Rocket Nozzle, then keep Rocketing up the things in the mansion until you get to the top. Grab that Shine Sprite!
~The Maze of Red Coins~Keep going until you reach the first intersection. Go left (grab the Star Coin!). Keep going left until you get to the maze. This place can get confusing if you don't know what you're doing. Anyways, jump onto that green moving platform at the beginning. Jump up and hover into the little spot there to get a red coin. See that circle platform? Use it and start climbing up the maze! At the third circle platform jump onto the lift and let it take you into another red coin. Then climb back up, go farther up, grab that red coin and bounce on that paratroopa's head! Anyways, after you get the red coin above that paratroopa, go to the left ofr where it was and drop down. Now use the platforms to climb up to the top. Go left and drop down the hole for another red coin, then drop down the hole and go left for another red coin. Jump back up through the hole and go right. Jump up through the hole above and use the platforms to climb up and get two more red coins. Drop back down and right. Jump and hover to the left, go to the wall and jump and hover up. Grab the Star Coin by Rocketing up the small vertical passageway and then jump into the pasageway to the left of it and use the platforms to get the last red coin. After all eight red coins are collected, go claim your reward: A Shine Sprite!!!!!!
~The Secret of Triangle Tower~Go to the right at the first intersection (the way you went for the Tricky Triangles shine) but don't get onto the platform. Instead, Rocket up and enter the pipe there. Here inside the tower, you lose your FLUDDs. So you must traverse this place without them. Start off by going to the right and using the platform to go up and then come back to the left. Use the swing to jump onto a cloud and then use the circle platform there to climb up. At the top, jump onto the swing and go to the right. Jump onto the platform and ride it to the left (grab the Star Coin on your way!). Then use the platforms to climb up, then go right. Jump onto the platform at the right and hop across the triangles, up the circle platform and across the last set of triangles to the Shine Sprite!
It is actually possible to get into the pipe using Hover FLUDD with Luigi. Double jump and hover at the highest point of the second jump. I have tried it and it works, so you can do that too if you wish.
I would suggest you challenge Bowser with Luigi (since he can jump higher), but you can't directly enter with Luigi. Here's what you have to do. Go into the Main Hall and triple jump at the wall past the top-right Star Door. Now inside the secret passageway, triple jump up to the Star Door there and enter it. Go to the right and grab Rocket and Turbo FLUDD. Now go back to the Main Hall and enter the Shifting Sand Land room. Jump into the left wall and over the gap. Grab Hover FLUDD, drop down, and exit. Now go to the double doors at the top of the Main Hall. Equip Rocket FLUDD and Rocket up through the ceiling. Now jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself out.
Bowser's Castle
(The Final Challenge)Any FLUDDs you get in Peach's Castle should be with you in this course now, so it's a good idea to grab all three FLUDDs before coming to this area. Also, if you are Luigi in the castle, certain times you will temporarily turn back into Mario (for cutscenes and such) because there are no sprites for Luigi for those certain things. Also, if you are Luigi here, you have to press C when you get a key instead of Z (don't know why, it's a strange glitch). Anyway, keep heading to the right until you come to the castle doors. Enter them.
At the bottom, go to the left. Keep going until you see double doors. Enter them. Go left from here and use the platforms to get across. Keep going left (beware the pillars of fire) and destroy the cracked blocks. Since you have FLUDD, you should be able to Hover up to the platform with the sign (run through the heart if you need health). Once there, Rocket up and head left and fall down the hole. Grab the key and exit to the main room.
Once back in the main room, keep heading right until you come upon two double doors. Enter them. Here, head across the circle platforms and keep heading right to the Metal Cap. Grab it and wait for the platform to sink, then run across the lava. Quickly jump out at the platform and then use the moving platforms to continue up. Once there, get on the gray platform and go down. At the bottom, jump down and keep heading right (beware the pillars of fire),jump up through the platform and grab the next key. Then Rocket up and head left to the Invisiblity Star. Grab it and head left through the metal cages and exit to the main room.
The cannon is now unlocked, since you have two keys. While you've still got invisibility, quickly drop through the cage above the entrance doors and grab the Star Coin. Jump to where the blue outline of the Red Coin Shine Sprite is and head left. Enter the doors you find to get to the outside. Head left and then up the tower for another Bowser Key. Head back to the right and re-enter the castle.
At the top of the main room, keep heading right. Enter the doors there. See the Star Coin up there? You need to use Hover FLUDD to get it. Head to the right but when you see parts of the floor missing, jump and hover all the way to the right and then go up. Go all the way to the left for a Star Coin, then head back and jump up for the final key!
Now since you have all the keys, go to the top of the Main Hall and jump into the cannon. Fire yourself along one of the paths on the way to get to the doors at the top. Enter them. Go to the left and enter the doors there. Equip Rocket FLUDD and get ready for multiple launches! Use Rocket FLUDD to get to the top of the room and enter the doors there. Jump to the main tower to the right and enter the doors there. Go left and up. Then right and down. Then left, down, right (beware the Thwomps). Jump and Rocket up and then take the platform up. At the top, jump to the left and get onto one of the moving platforms. Keep going left and then get onto the green platform to go up. At the top, go to the right and ride the platform there. Use the same technique you did in Rainbow Ride with the carpets. Jump off the platform only because of obstacles and jump back on quickly. Jump into the Sling Star.
Keep heading left and then go up at the bone wall. Hover to the platform above the Bill Blasters, grab Hover FLUDD for a refill, then Rocket up. Then bounce on the Bullet Bills to the top, then head right. Jump into the Sling Star, then head left when you land. It gets a bit tricky here. See those red bricks with the arrow inside them? Jump onto them and wait for them to go down almost to the lava, then quickly go left and up the grey structure the bricks pulled down. Think of it this way: what the bricks do, the obstacle does. And the bricks raise up if you're not on them, so move fast when you get in a situation like that (although you may not see the obstacle the bricks are lowering, keep standing on the bricks until they almost sink in the lava and head left/right (whichever way you are instructed to go)). At the next one, stand on the left brick switch and then enter the doors when you get to them. Outside, climb the stairs to the top and enter the shining red doors (ooh...spooky...). Boss battle!
-Boss Battle 1: Bowser-Dodge his flames and when he comes down low, jump on his head. He might drop some magic spells which will make Goombas or Bob-Ombs. Sometimes they will drop a blue coin too, so grab one if one does come (if you need health). And don't get under him when he's at the edge of the room or his craft will come down at you. Here's a little help: Blue Fireballs bounce high, Purple Fireballs bounce low and Green Fireballs follow you until they hit the ground, which they explode then. There's not much more I can tell you, other then good luck! After three hits, it'll explode...wait! That's a robot! You've been fooled! Jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself into the next area! Or, if you want, enter the pipe to go back to Peach's Castle. If you do enter the pipe, there will be another pipe at the top of the castle (where the Sling Star to Bowser's Castle is) that you can enter to skip back up to where you beat the fake Bowser.
Go to the right and use the circle platforms to climb up (beware the small meteorites!) and then go to the left. Jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself upward. Head right and then up. At the top, go left. Use the Sling Star and shoot yourself into the next area. Keep going right and climb up the flipping platforms and then go left at the top. Keep going and then climb up the ice and go right at the top. Jump onto the spinning platform and jump to the right and destroy the cracked ice. Go up, then defeat the Paratroopas and jump into the Sling Star and shoot up into the next area. In this area, keep going up. At the circle platform, go left. Use the falling logs to proceed up (grab the Star Coin on your way). At the top, jump into the Sling Star and prepare for another Boss Battle.
-Boss Battle 2: The Real Bowser-Fight him just like you did in the Dark World and the Ancient Fortress, but this time you'll be in the air and flipping when you grab his tail. Same thing, though. Aim for a spike ball (be careful! They move!). Three hits and he's down!
AHH!!! The castle is being destroyed! We gotta escape! Keep heading to the left!!!!!! But you have no FLUDDs unfortunately...oh well. KEEP RUNNING TO THE LEFT!!!!!! AND AVOID FALLING INTO THE LAVA!!!!!!! At the third area, jump into the Sling Star and shoot yourself to the left to escape!
Once you escape, eventually the credits will roll. But this is not the end of the game! Oddly enough, beating Bowser's Castle gives you one more shine Sprite even though you didn't collect one. Anyway, if you want 100%, read on in the walkthrough!
~Red Coins~On the way into the castle, you'll find the first Red Coin in the middle of a bunch of moving platforms.
The second Red Coin is in the bottom-left door of the main room, under the leftmost Thwomp.
The third Red Coin is in the bottom-right door of the main room, under a row of floating logs.
The fourth Red Coin is in the top-left door of the main room, floating above a Paratroopa. The fifth Red coin is in that same area, in the middle of four circle platforms.
The sixth and seventh Red Coins are in the top-right door of the main room. Instead of hovering over the fake floor, drop through it to the room below. Go to the right until you reach an invisibility star. Grab it, go back left, and talk to the caged toad. A platform will be revealed, so use that to climb the room. The sixth Red Coin is at the end of the platform's path. Keep going to the right and climb the vertical passageway there. The seventh Red Coin is in a corner above and to the right of the large four-way spinning platform. Continue up and then left to get back to the room with the key.
The final Red Coin is above the cannon in the main room. The Shine Sprite appears below the cannon.
Make your way back to the room with Rocket and Turbo FLUDD. Enter the passageway at the top-left of the room.Make your way back to the room with Rocket and Turbo FLUDD. Enter the passageway at the top-left of the room.
Castle Secret StarStrangely, Runouw didn't put the Magma Maze name into the stage title. Anyway, go to the right once you land, then make your way up. Jump through the bone platform and go to the right. Grab the Hover FLUDD, and drop down (go right at the same time). Come back into the area and get back to the top, but don't jump through the bone platform. Instead, take the passageway to the right of it. Head all the way to the right and go into a little indent and grab the Rocket FLUDD. Make your way to the top-right of the room and grab the Star Coin there (you'll know you're in the right place if you see two red Bill Blasters. The Star Coin is to the right of them). Go to the top-left and go up into the higher area and get Turbo FLUDD. Go back through the bone platform you went through at the beginning to get the Hover FLUDD and drop down into the water. At the current, Turbo to the left. Surface and go left for another Shine Sprite!
Go outside, go to the right and jump into the cannon. Aim and fire Mario/Luigi onto the top of the castle. Climb up and get into the Sling Star. Sling yourself up and grab the Wing Cap, then quickly dive to the right and fly through the sky. If done right, you can make it to The Edge of Mushroom Kingdom, the final stage of the game. If you miss, jump into the cannon and aim high and to the right.
The Edge of Mushroom KingdomThe final area of the game, containing the sixty-fourth Shine Sprite and Star Coin. You need 63 Shine Sprites to access this area. I recommend using Luigi for this area.
Keep heading to the right, across the moving platforms. Note the metal platforms and the breakable boxes. Do not break the boxes; you will need them for later. Keep heading right until you find Turbo FLUDD and an invisibility star. Now comes the hard part. You now have to get back to where the Rocket FLUDD was. Since you are invisible, you will go right through the metal, so you will have to use the breakable boxes (that's why I said to not break any of them). Use Turbo FLUDD to assist you. Once you get back to Rocket FLUDD, grab it and rocket back up through the revealed passageway. Keep rocketing up until you reach another Rocket FLUDD. Grab it to restore your water, and the rocket to the right. Hold right and repeatedly press X to spin to the right until you see a Wing Cap. Grab it and go back to where the second Rocket FLUDD is. See the two arrows pointing up? Jump onto that cloud, and then double jump and rocket upward. At the peak of your rocket jump, dive to the left. Fly to the left to the cloud with the Hover FLUDD (don't forget to grab the Star Coin on your way). Grab Hover FLUDD and climb upward, to the next section.
In the second area, refill your water with another Hover FLUDD if you wish. Now there is two ways to do this. I'll explain both ways here:
Normal way: Continue to the right until you see six fire pillars with moving platforms under them. Rocket up the gap inbetween them and hold left. You should land on a higher platform (if you're good enough, you can burn yourself on the fire pillar and use the resulting knockback to make it up there). Up on this platform, climb the structure until you reach the top. Once you reach Hover FLUDD, use it and the moving platforms to climb higher up.
Shortcut: At the very start of this section, switch to Rocket FLUDD, double jump, and rocket up. Keep bouncing on Bullet Bills until FLUDD charges back up, and then rocket up and onto the platform above. This way skips the first half of this section, but it's a bit hard to pull off. (Credit to ~MP3 Amplifier~ for pointing this shortcut out)
Either way gets you to the same point. From here, keep heading right. When you see a tilting log in between several fire pillars, dash across the log. Continue right until you see four flipping platforms. At the top lies the final Shine sprite of the game!
Now you can get the secret ending of the game. Go back through Bowser's Castle, defeat Bowser, and escape the castle. You will get a different ending this time.

Enemy Guide/Bestiary:
Goomba
Size: Small | Threat Level: 1/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spin
Goombas are the trademark enemy of the Mario series, and they haven't changed much, aside from graphics.
Big Goomba
Size: Big | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spins
Just bigger versions of Goombas. Same strategy as regular Goombas, except you may have to spin into them several times to kill them.
Mini Goomba
Size: Tiny | Threat Level: 1.5/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spin
Tiny versions of Goombas. Same strategy as regular Goombas, only they might be hard to see due to their size.
Shy-Guy
Size: Small | Threat Level: 1/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spin into a wall
Shy-Guys are a little tougher than Goombas, but not by much. To kill them by spinning, you have to knock them into a wall, lava, or oblivion, otherwise they just get right back up.
Fly-Guy
Size: Small | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spin
Fly-Guys are just Shy-Guys with little propellers on their heads. If you stomp or spin into them, they will lose their propeller and turn into a regular Shy-Guy.
Koopa Troopa
Size: Medium | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Spin
Koopa Troopas have been around since the plumbers' very first game. If stomped or spun into, they retract into their shells, and you can then kick them around. It is not known if they come back out or not, and the only way to kill it is to knock it into oblivion.
Paratroopa
Size: Medium | Threat Level: 2.5/5 | How to kill: Stomp or spin
Paratroopas are just Koopa Troopas with wings. Like the Fly-Guys, they lose their flying capabilities if stomped or spun into. However, they can be placed in spots where it is impossible to get past them without getting hurt.
Bob-Omb
Size: Small | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Spin or let explode
Bob-Ombs are living, walking bombs. The instant they see you, their fuse is lit and they chase after you. Knock them away with a spin, but be wary of the resulting explosion. You can also just dodge them and let them explode on their own; whichever works.
Bully
Size: Small | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Knock into lava or oblivion
Bullies are black balls with horns, eyes, feet, and an attitude problem. If they see you, they start charging at you. Fortunately, they cannot directly hurt you; they only knock you back. Though, you could fall into a hazard (such as lava or oblivion), so they can still hurt you. The only way to kill these guys is to knock them into either lava or oblivion.
Big Bully
Size: Big | Threat Level: 3/5 | How to kill: Knock into lava three times or oblivion
Big Bullies are bigger and stronger versions of Bullies. They are harder to move, knock you back further, and they can withstand the heat of lava twice, but a third time, and they're down for the count. It's easier to just knock them into oblivion, but sometimes it's not always possible. They also sink if knocked into water, but that doesn't kill them, it just may get them out of the way.
Cheep Cheep
Size: Small | Threat Level: 1.5/5 | How to kill: Spin
Cheep Cheeps may look innocent and cute on the outside, but they are anything but. When they spot you, they start chasing after you. However, they aren't that hard; just a spin attack and you have dinner! Or breakfast... or lunch... depending on what time of day it is.
Mega Cheep Cheep
Size: Big | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Spin
Mega Cheep Cheeps are bigger versions of Cheep Cheeps, but size is the only difference. A simple spin, and it's fish fry time!
Boo
Size: Medium | Threat Level: 3/5
Being ghosts, Boos are invincible. The only thing you can do is bounce off of them or spin into them and knock them away.
Big Boo
Size: Big | Threat Level: 3.5/5
Big Boos are bigger, badder version of Boos. You can only bounce off of them or knock them away with a spin.
Penguin
Size: Small | Threat Level: 1/5
Also known as Bumpties, Penguins are invincible. Spinning hardly does anything, so the best thing to do is just avoid them. If you are invincible, you can knock them away, but otherwise, don't bother.
Flying Penguins
Size: Small | Threat Level: 1/5
Going against all laws of physics, these penguins fly in mid-air. They cannot be moved except by use of an invincibility star, and in that case, they turn back into penguins when touched. These do make a good wall if used correctly, though sometimes it is possible to scale up them by holding up and the direction you are going at them.
Goonie
Size: Small | Threat Level: 0/5
Goonies are peaceful, white birds that fly through the sky. You can ride them, but your weight causes them to sink toward the ground. They are also invincible, but I don't see why you'd want to kill them anyway.
Skelegoon
Size: Small | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Stomp
Skelegoons are something to watch out for. You cannot ride them like regular Goonies, and a simple stomp on the back makes them lose their wings and turn into Wingless Skelegoonies.
Wingless Skelegoonie
Size: Small | Threat Level: 2/5 | How to kill: Stomp
Wingless Skelegoonies are just Skelegoons without wings. They are easy to defeat; a stomp on the head and it's done. Whatever you do, DO NOT spin into it. Spinning does absolutely nothing except put you in risk of danger.
