Finished up Yondemasu Yo Azazel-san in preparation for S2 next season. I didn't know whether to be weirded out or laughing at a lot of points, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

For starters, yeah, what you said about characters can help a lot in liking a show or not. However the way I feel is that it varies immensely. Lots of different shows have lots of different deciding factors, and some can overlap or overshadow others.

For example, I don't really excessively enjoy any of the characters in Ixion Saga DT, but the comedic component of it makes me like the show quite a bit.

Azazel-san had no plot, no notably good characters, and even the jokes could wear very thin at times, but the sheer insanity made it one heck of a ride.

Finally I thought the plot, action, and intensity of BTOOOM! was pretty fantastic, but the characters were so one-dimensional and sometimes retarded, it was hard to call in excellent rather than just good.

In short, it can be a lot of factors.

That aside, watching Spice and Wolf to see what all the noise is about. And I'm starting to see why everyone loves Horo so much.

Oh and I might've spoken too soon about best OP of the season.

And here's the best ED.

I meant to respond to this but never did. Thanks to Brando, I'll do it now.

Why do I watch anime? Well, that's a question that I could probably write a lot about. I mean, I could make it a life story if I really wanted. But for now, I won't write too much. Let's see... When I was a kid, my sisters watched a fair amount of anime, so I was went along with them and sometimes watched and was, for the most part, entertained. Now, I would say that's mostly the reason why I was a bit more aware of anime and fine with it. And when I grew older, around 14-15ish, I would occasionally watch a show or two, (Lucky Stay, Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0) but to me, I simply saw it as another TV show. I wanted to enjoy the humor, or the plot, or the characters, and so I would watch any TV show, not discriminating whether it was animated or not.

There was one point on my life where I lurked /b/ more than frequently. This was when I was.... 16? I think... Honestly not that long ago. And so I would lurk and lurk and lurk. This went for about half a year, until I finally got bored of /b/. So what did I do? I decided to try another board, and, while I don't know exactly what I was thinking, I guess it just popped in my head to visit /a/. The very top post I saw was one of Madoka specula. Yup. /a/ was the sole reason I got into anime. I mean, the rest is history. Anime just has such an easy format to follow. Four seasons, 12 or 24 episode shows, really, there was nothing difficult about it. The art style was nice to look at, and sometimes, I could sympathize with the characters so well, and the plot would draw me in. I think the thing I like about most anime is that 12 or 24 episode idea. The idea that, the show had only so many episodes to put their story in, and if they don't get it right, then, hey, that's okay, it's over already. It's funny, that the fact that it's difficult to keep it long running is the reason why I like anime. It's the fact that most shows have an end, and so the creators have to be good in order to fit the story in a limited space. And many times, it goes very nicely.

I'll maybe write more, cause my head swims with thoughts, but for now, that's it.

Why do I watch anime? Huh. Well, that's pretty obvious.

THE CREED: Nothing is True. Everything is Permitted.
"...That's rather cynical."

"It would be if it were doctrine, but it is merely an observation of the nature of reality.
To say that Nothing is True is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shephards of our own civilization.
To say that Everything is Permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with the consequences, whether glorious...or tragic."

Once again, thanks to yours truly. And we'll probably be back yet again for OVA 6. Just wait.
