[SF] great piece of art

Postby mariuszp » October 8th, 2009, 11:34 am

Starfox is a 3D flash game made by Runouw. This is a great piece of art, since it does not use your graphic card's 3D renedering functions. Just a little question...

I am making a project called "Darma <number-of-pictures>" and it's a library that cointain some pictures, so that people can make 3D games easyli (will also be useful to me). How do you make 3D pictures?

I would like a "polygon" algorythm too.

Sorry, I can't answer your question.
However, I do know of a programming program called Alice that uses 3D models, and it lets you make people models, but I don't know if they're compatible with other programs.

And speaking of Alice, and speaking of Star Fox, I'm trying to make a 3D Starfox game with Alice called Star Wolf 64. I don't know if it will ever be able to match up with Runouwfox, though. 'Cause Runouwfox is just that amazing.

Hey, whatever happened to this game, anyway? I haven't heard anything from Runouw, no new demos or ANYTHING since the latest demo (which was like, in 2008). Is he still working on the game?

Well he's working on that new game of his and the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Engine.

That's what might be slowing him down.

He said he's waiting for the new version of Flash to see if it can handle 3D better.

Yeah a 3D flash......

that's awesome....

I'm not a big fan of Star Fox but if it's 3D i might reconsider.

I really don't think that's possible. I'm pretty sure you need to use AS3 for 3D work, and I doubt GameMaker works with that sort of thing. Hell, it barely uses any coding whatsoever.

You could always make an animation with sprites that look 3D, or take a picture of something 3D and use it, but that's technically still 2D.

Actually gameMaker8 does work with coding and 3D games.
Check the website and you'll find great examples.

I find it pretty hard to believe you can program actual 3D models into GameMaker. Are you sure they aren't sprites giving the illusion of looking 3D?
