Just to say, this story was inspired by a video series entitled "The Legend of Mario" on YouTube. It's kinda hard to remember everything that is in it, but I remember some of the big parts. And it's not exactly the same thing either. But plz enjoy and comment!
And also, in this story, try to imagine the characters in SSBM, because that's the game this takes place in, really.Introduction
This is one of the many legends that the people speak....
There once was a prosperous land blessed with green hills, fertile soil, and other good things such as these. The source of this good fortune was a golden power hidden in the city.
But one day a group of evil men found the power for themselves and used it to wreak havoc on the world.
But then, out of nowhere, a boy clothed in green appeared. Wielding the Blade of Evil's Bane, he sealed the evil away and gave the land light.
The boy's name was unknown, but he was named the "Hero of Time" because he traveled through time to save them.
But then one day a fell wind began to blow across the kingdom....
The evil that was thought to have been sealed away by the Hero of Time escaped and wreaked havoc once more.
The people believed that the hero would again come to save them....
But the hero did not appear.
Without any way to fight against the evil, the people could do nothing but pray for the hero to come.
What became of that kingdom? None remain who know.....
The memory of the kingdom vanished, but it's legend survived on the wind's breath.
In a certain land, it was custom to garb young boys in green when they came of age and teach them swordplay, and the elders wished that that knowledge would some day come in handy to smite evil...
But that wish never came true....
It was not a swordsman alone who smited the evil that conquered these lands....
It was a swordsman and his friend, a famous plumber named......Mario.....
Chapter 1
One day, at Princess Peachs Castle...
"Mario!" Peach shouted. "Come here! I need to talk to you!"
Mario walked up to Peach, having just arrived, and asked "What's up?"
"Bowser hasn't been attacking us lately," she explained with a concerned look on her face. "I worried that he's making some sort of plan."
"Well aren't we getting optimistic? Of course he's making plans!" he said, with an expression that just screamed "duh!"
"Yesh Mario," responded Peach sarcastically, "you don't have to be Captain Obvious."
Mario rolled his eyes. "Sooory."
"Anyway, we need to find out what Bowser's up to," said Peach. "You mean I need to find out what Bowser's up to," replied Mario.
"Well, yes," replied Peach.
"I have to do it every time!" said Mario with an angry tone, "It's so frustrating!"
"Come on Mario," answered Peach in a sad voice, "Don't you want your future wife to be happy?"
"Well, yes," said Mario as he scratched his head. "Oh, fine. Where do you think he's at?"
"I don't know. Try his castle?" Peach suggested.
"It was destroyed, remember?"
"Oh, right. I don't know then. You'll just have to search."
Mario left the castle.
Later that day, at Hyrule Castle...
"Link! Come here!" Zelda shouted. Link comes up to Zelda and says, "What's wrong?"
"Ganondorf has been set free!" Zelda replied, with a concerned voice. "Not again!" Link said, with anger in his voice.
"Yes again," answered Zelda, "We need to find out where he is and what he's up to."
Link grunted and said, "I hate having to do this every stinkin' time!"
Zelda and Link venture out to find Ganondorf.

Chapter 2:
That night, at Bowsers Base (Battlefield)...
"Well Ganondorf, what's your evil plan?" asked Bowser. "My plan is to switch foes!" replied Ganondorf in an evil voice.
"What do you mean?" asked Bowser. "I mean that you fight Link and I'll fight Mario," explained Ganondorf.
"Sounds like a plan," answered Bowser, "But maybe we could team up and fight them both at the same time!"
"Perhaps, just that I think my way would be better," said Ganondorf. "Let's try your way, and if it doesn't work out, then let's try mine," answered Bowser.
"Deal," said Ganondorf.
Ganondorf and Bowser go off in different directions to hunt down their new foes...
The next day, in the Mushroom Kingdom...
"Luigi!" shouted Mario, "You there?"
Luigi walked up with a tired look in his eyes, and replied sleepily, "Yeah, but it's 6:00 in the morning!"
"I need you to help me find Bowser!" explained Mario. "Again?" Luigi replied, still sleepy. "Yes again," said Mario.
"Let's find out later. I'm too tired."
"Come on, Luigi! The world depends on us!" said Mario with a hint of urgency in his voice.
"Fine," replied Luigi, rubbing his eyes, "but I probably won't be much help. Where is he?"
"That I don't know," explained Mario, "But what I do know is that he's planning something."
Luigi scoffed, and with a sarcastic tone, said, "Naw, he's not planning anything!"
"Luigi, come on. You know I hate it when you get sarcastic," replied Mario.
Luigi doubled over laughing.
Mario grabs Luigi and says, "Luigi, come on! We need to find Bowser!"
Luigi stops laughing and starts coughing, " Mario....let....go....I....can't....breathe...."
Mario releases Luigi and with urgency in his voice, said, "Come on! Let's go!" and he runs off, with Luigi on his heels.
So Mario and Luigi go off to find Bowser. But they don't know that they will meet someone else first...

Chapter 3:
Later that day, deeper into the Mushroom Kingdom (Mushroom Kingdom 2)
"Having to travel through this place every time we leave the other section of the Mushroom Kingdom is tiring me out...," said Mario, with a tired look on his face and sweat sliding down his face.
"I know what you mean," replied Luigi, panting, "We really need more stamina!"
"Yeah. I think we need to rest," suggested Mario. He sits down. "Good idea," replied Luigi. He sat down next to Mario.
A dark figure appears and says, "Mario, it is time for you to die!"
Mario jumps up and, with fright in his voice, said, "W-who's there?"
"Your worst nightmare," the figure replied.
"Who are you?" asked Mario.
"That shall be revealed in good time my friend," the figure replied as it unsheathed it's sword, "Let us battle..."
"Come on, Luigi! We can take him!" said Mario.
The figure sheathes it's sword and says, "No, you cannot fight together on this," then shoots a beam at Mario.
The beam hits Mario and knocks him back. Mario gets up and, with anger in his voice, says, "You're dead now!" He runs at the figure.
The figure wiggles his finger at Mario and says, "Ah-ah-ah. I won't do that." "Take this!" said Mario.
He runs right through the figure and almost falls off the edge of a platform. "What? Agh!" says Mario, suprised, as he grabbed the edge of the platform to save himself from falling.
"Mario....do you wish to find out who I am?" the figure says, "Or do you wish to fight first?"
Mario climbs up and replies, "I will fight you and kill you!"
"Very well then." The figure replied. He throws up his hand and a portal appears. "If you wish to fight, enter this portal," the figure said.
Mario jumps into the portal out of anger and didn't think about it beforehand. "Mario!" Luigi shouts. He runs at the portal, but the figure knocks him back. "You shall stay here," the figure says, with an evil tone, "Your brother shall return unharmed, unless he does not cooperate. Farewell." The figure steps into the portal and the portal disappears.
The portal appears at Bowsers Base...
Mario jumps out and lands, followed by the dark figure.
"Where are we?" Mario wondered aloud as he looked around.
"I have teleported you to our base," the figure replied.
"Our base?" Mario said, "You mean you're not the only villain?"
"No. But I'll ask again. Do you wish to fight me?"
"Bring it on!"
"So be it." The figure unsheathes his sword.

Mysterious Figure
Mario starts attacking the figure, but it strikes back with a slash with his sword. Mario tumbles backward, but gets up and spins the figure upward with a Mario Tornado. The figure hits the ground and attacks Mario with a super punch. Mario flies off the stage, but manages to get back on by grabbing the edge and climbing up. Mario punches the figure into the air with a Super Jump Punch, then smashes him off the stage. The figure gets back on and smashes Mario off the stage. Mario again manages to get back onto the platform, but just barely.
"You put up a good fight," replied Mario.
"Your skills need polishing," the figure replied. He punches Mario so far off stage he falls way down under the platform and loses.
Melee end!
Winner: Mysterious Figure
"That shall teach him to mess with me!" the figure says menacingly. He laughs evilly and disappears.
Meanwhile, Mario is falling down for what seems to him like an eternity, but finally lands onto an island floating in the sky, with a fountain on it.
Mario gets up and asks, "Where am I?"
"This is the Fountain of Dreams!" replied a puffball that steps out of the shadows, "Who are you?"
"I'm Mario. Who are you?" asked Mario.
"I'm Kirby!" the puffball replies.
"Hi Kirby."
"Wow, you sure took a beating," Kirby said, with sympathy in his voice, "Who'd you fight?"
"I don't know," Mario answered, "Some weird shadow with a sword and a super punch..."
"A shadow....with a sword....that can punch hard....hmm....well, I know someone who can punch really hard. Did you fight a villain?" asked Kirby.
"Yes," replied Mario.
"Then it's definitely not Captain Falcon," Kirby said.
"Come again?" Mario's eyes widened.
"Captain Falcon. He's the F-Zero racing champion," Kirby replied, "What, you never heard of him?"
"No," said Mario, "But I'm going to spy on him and see if he does anything suspicious. Where's he at?"
"Probably at the racetrack.," answered Kirby, "But it's a long way down if you fall. Use this star." Kirby hands Mario a star.
"Ok, thanks Kirby. But....how do I use it?" asked Mario.
"Just wish you were somewhere and it'll take you there."
"Ok," replied Mario. He held the star high in the air and said, "I wish I was at the F-Zero Racetrack!"
Star starts shining and Mario disappears.
Chapter 4
Mario appears on the F-Zero Racetrack (Big Blue)
"I'm at the F-Zero Racetrack!" Mario exclaims. He looks down and and his eyes widened in shock. "Oh sh*t! I'm ON the racetrack!"
Inside one of the cars a racer looks at Mario and says to himself, "Who the heck is that?" The racer gets onto the roof of his car and shouts, "Hey red dude! Get off of the track!"
Mario turns toward the racer and says, "Hey, are you Captain Falcon?"
The racer glares at Mario, and with an expression that just screams "Dude, you don't know me?", says, "You don't know Captain Falcon, champion of the F-Zero? Man, you are sooooo lame! You are right about that, but get off the track!"
"No. These are good seats," Mario replied. He sits down.
"There are no seats, you moron!" Captain Falcon replied.
"Oh, right. But this is fun riding on this airship!" said Mario. He slips off the airship hovering above the racetrack and lands on one of the racecars. "Ack!"
"Ha ha ha! Moron!" said Captain Falcon, chuckling.
Mario gets up and says, "You callin' me a moron, jerk?"
"Oh you did not just call me a jerk," said Captain Falcon, glaring at Mario.
"Oh, yes I did," replied Mario, "Now let's fight it out!"
"I would, twerp, but I have a race to win!" said Captain Falcon. He got back into his racecar.
"Oh, we'll see who's gonna win this race!" says Mario as he climbs into a racecar, "You're going down!"
Meanwhile in town (Onett)...
Link is huffing and puffing from low energy and says, "Where...is...Ganon....?"
"I....have....no....idea...," replied Zelda, panting.
"We....need....to...rest...," said Link.
"Good....idea...," replied Zelda. She and Link sit down on the ground.
"I thought....I saw him....running away...," pants Link.
"Me too....Must've not.....been him...," replied Zelda.
A kid walks up next to them.
Kid: Why are you two sitting on the ground?
Link gets up and says, "We're resting, because we thought we were chasing Ganondorf. Why does it matter to you?"
"Ganondorf? Ahhh!!!!!" the kid runs away.
"Ooookkkkk," said Link with a suspicious tone in his voice, "That was weird."
Zelda gets up and says, "We need to find Ganon now!"
A cloaked figure appears and says, "Well, you'll find him alright....in the afterlife! Bwa ha ha ha!"
Link unsheathes his sword and shield and says, "Who's there?"
"An unknown enemy...," the figure replies.
"Show yourself!" demanded Link.
"I presume we have not met before?" asks the figure.
Link eyes the figure with suspicion and replies, "No."
"Well in that case," the figure throws off his cloak, "I am Bowser!"
Zelda gasps and says, "Bowser!"
"Well, well. Princess Zelda is it?" says Bowser, "Ganondorf sent me to find you and your little hero. He's tired of getting his a** kicked by a boy on a skirt and wants me to finish you off."
"Well bring it on!" replies Link.
"As you wish," says Bowser.
Link looks at Zelda and says, "Zelda, go somewhere safe until the battle's over!"
"You don't have to tell me what to do, Link!" she replies. She runs behind a nearby building.
Link turns back to Bowser and says, "You ready?"
"Bring it on!" replies Bowser evilly.
Melee Start!

Bowser
Link slashes at Bowser, who dodges, then he kicks him in midair. Bowser gets up and burns Link with his fire breath, then jumps and Bowser Bombs him. Link staggers for a few seconds, then does a Spin Attack. Bowser slashes a Link with his claws, then smashes him into a building. Link regains his balance and smashes Bowser into another building. Bowser grabs Link and chucks him over a building into the street. Link gets up and moves before a car can hit him, then grabs Bowser and throws him upward and then smashes him downward onto the roof of a building. Bowser grabs Link once more, and throws him way off-stage, resulting in a win for Bowser.
Melee End!
Winner: Bowser
"Bwa ha ha ha! I win!" says Bowser menacingly. He goes around to back of building where Zelda is hiding and grabs her. "You're coming with me Princess!" "Help! Link! Save me! HELP!!!!!" Zelda cried.
Link was knocked unconscious from the throw and didn't hear Zelda's cries for help....

Chapter 5:
Later that day in the city...
Mario runs in and pants, "Wow, that was a long run. I need to rest...," and he sits down.
Link grunts and gets up, then says, "Ugh...." He shakes his head. "Where...where am I?"
Mario jumps up and says in surprise, "Who said that?"
Link gets up and staggers toward Mario, then says, "It's me, Link...," and falls down in fatigue.
"Link! Get up!" said Mario and he grabs Link and pulls him up, "What happened?"
"I was...beaten....by Bowser..," Link replies, "Zelda was.....taken....I couldn't....save her...."
"Don't worry! We'll find her!" said Mario, "You just need to rest. Now I need to find Bowser..."
"Here....take this....," Link says as he hands Mario an orb, "Use it teleport.....wherever you want....."
"I'll go rescue Zelda. Wait here!" said Mario, "I wish to be where Bowser is!" And he disappears.
"Bye.....Mario.....Good luck....." says Link, then he passes out from fatigue.
At Bowsers Base...
Bowser appears and says menacingly, "Bwa ha ha ha! I have defeated Link and captured his precious Zelda!" He then seals Zelda in a magic crystal and it floats high into the sky. "Enjoy being weightless Princess!"
Zelda pounds on glass, and she yells, but indistinctly.
Suddenly, a bright light flashes and a white figure appears, and it says, "Let her go, Bowser!" and jumps on Bowser.
"What? Oof!" Bowser grunts as the figure collides with him. He manages to throw the figure off of him and says, "Who are you?"
The figure gets up and says, "Your worst nightmare." The light disappears, revealing....
"M-mario? N-no way!" said Bowser. (heroic music plays)
"Your days of villainy will end now, Bowser!" says Mario heroically. He smashes Bowser off-stage.
Bowser spins back onto the stage on stage and replied, "Not if I can help it!"

Bowser
Mario throws fireball at Bowser and then spins him into the sky with a Mario Tornado. Bowser uses the momentum and Bowser Bombs Mario. Mario gets up and smashes Bowser off-stage once again. Bowser manages to recover and smack Mario across the stage.
Mario gets up. "The battle ends now, Bowser!"
"Oh, it will," replies Bowser menacingly, "with me walking away with the win!"
"Don't count on it, Bowser!" says Mario. He runs at Bowser.
Bowser dodges. Mario stops, turns around, grabs Bowser, and throws him so far off-stage he can't recover, resulting in a win for Mario.
(Victory music plays)
"Yes! I finally defeated Bowser!" said Mario victoriously. He looks at Zelda, with a sad look on his face, and says, "But how do I get you down?"
Melee End!
Winner: Mario
Bowser is falling for what seems like an eternity until he lands on a floating island.
Bowser gets up. "Where am I?"

Chapter 6:
Stage: Dream Land (N64)
"Where am I?"
A puffball appears.
"I'm Kirby! And you're in Dream Land! What's your name?" asks the puffball.
"I'm Bowser...." replies Bowser with a tone that implied "You don't know that?"
"Bowser? Hmm....aren't you that fat turtle that always tries to kidnap Princess Peach but your plan is always foiled by Mario?" Kirby asks.
Bowser burns Kirby with fire breath and says angrily, "I AM NOT FAT! DO NOT SAY THAT!"
"Ouch!" Kirby screams in pain, "Ow, HOT HOT HOT!!!!" He starts running around like a maniac.
"You're dead now!" says Bowser. He grabs Kirby and throws him off-stage.
"You can't get rid of me that easily!" replies Kirby. He recovers and starts attacking Bowser.
"You, my friend, suck" said Bowser. He grabs Kirby, bites him, then throws him way off-stage. "Now for my plan...." he says and he jumps off the stage.
Kirby recovers and says, "Well, that was weird," and starts pacing. "What to do, what to do..."
Meanwhile...
Stage: Battlefield
Mario has attacked the crystal in all sorts of ways but can't free Zelda. Finally he sits down in disgust.
"Ugh....this is hard work...," said Mario, with a tired look on his face.
Zelda shouts, but indistinctly.
"I can't hear you Zelda...," replies Mario, as if Zelda could hear him.
Zelda bangs on glass and shouts indistinctly.
"Still can't hear you...," replies Mario.
"Mario!"
"Huh?" Mario gets up and Luigi jumps up onto the stage.
"Luigi!" Mario says in a relieved tone, "Where have you been?"
"Looking for you," replies Luigi.
"How did you find me?" asks Mario.
"Well I finally found that guy that took you and he told me where to find you...," Luigi explains.
"Oh, that easily?" replies Mario, with a surprised tone.
"Yup. Just went up to him and asked," said Luigi.
"Weird. Anyway, help me free Zelda," Mario says. He points at Zelda.
"HOLY SH*T!" says Luigi.
"She's been like that for some time now...," explains Mario.
"How are we going to get her out?" asks Luigi.
"I've tried everything...," Mario replies.
"What about your final smash?" suggests Luigi.
"Dude...final smashes are in Super Smash Bros Brawl, not Melee!" Mario answers, with a "Don't you know that?" look.
"Well we could combine games...," suggests Luigi.
"Good idea! GAME FUSION!!!!" shouts Mario.
Flash!
Tah-dah! This game is now a mixture of both SSBM and SSBB!
"Wow! Updated graphics!" says Luigi.
"Awesomeness!" says Mario, "But how do we free Zelda?"
Crack...
"Huh?" He looks at the crystal.
Crack....crack....CRACK CRACK CRICK-CRACK!
The crystal breaks and Zelda is freed!
Zelda jumps to the stage. "Thanks guys."
"We didn't really do anything. Now do you know where Princess Peach is?" asks Mario.
"No. Let's go find her!" says Zelda.
Luigi walks away.
"Luigi! Get back here!" says Mario. He grabs Luigi. "You are coming with us!"
Luigi chokes. "Let...go...of....me....can't....breathe...."
Mario releases him and says, "Come on, Luigi! You're not a coward, are you?"
Luigi jumps off stage.
"I guess he is," Mario says to himself. He walks back over to Zelda. "Guess we're on our own."
"Let's go! Now instead of falling down (which could be painful), let's warp! Here's a bit of magic...," says Zelda as she hands a bottle to Mario, "...now sprinkle it on yourself..."
Mario sprinkles some powder on himself.
"Now say your destination and spin around! Like this: I wish to be on land!" Zelda spins around and disappears.
"Ok... I wish to be where Zelda just went!" Mario spins around and disappears.
Chapter 7:
Stage: Fourside (Melee)
Mario and Zelda appear on top of a building.
"Where are we?" asks Mario.
"I don't know. I guess this is the closest land to the place we were at," Zelda responds.
"I guess so. But what are we supposed to do here?" asks Mario.
Zelda puts a finger to her lips and says quietly, "Shh! Mario, look!"
"It's Bowser! Let's get him! (starts running toward Bowser)
Zelda grabs Mario. "Mario, hold on." She releases him and says, "Let's see if we can find out what he's planning. Let's get a bit closer but not too much."
"Good idea," Mario replies.
Mario and Zelda sneak closer to Bowser, just enough to hear him talking to himself.
"Oooo, I hate that Mario! He's always ruining my plans! I'll get one one day...I know it! But I need a plan...," says Bowser.
A dark figure appears next to Bowser.
"Bowser, I have succeeded," the figure says.
"Good. Now with him out of the way we can focus on our main target," replies Bowser.
"As you wish. But don't you think we might be being watched?" asks the figure.
Mario and Zelda look at each other with looks that say, "That figure knows we're here!"
Then, Zelda whispers, "I guess we should just go confront Bowser, since that figure know's we're here.
Mario and Zelda jump to the platform where the dark figure and Bowser are standing.
"Talking about me, eh? Well you haven't gotten rid of me and I have rescued Zelda, so she can assist me!" says Mario heroically.
Bowser turns. "M-mario?!? Not again!"
The figure steps in front of Bowser. "Leave it to me, Lord Bowser,"
"I'm going! Bye!" says Bowser and he jumps off the stage.
"2 against 1 ain't fair, bozo?" says Mario.
"Who says it was two against one? You're not the one I need," the figure replies. It raises it's hand and flips it and Mario is sent flying way offstage.
"No! Mario!" screams Zelda.
The figure laughs and says, "Afraid to fight, princess? You could always just surrender and make it painless."
Zelda turns to the figure. "No! I CAN fight! I will fight you, just reveal yourself!"
"Really?" the figure replies.
"Yes. Now take off that cloak!" commands Zelda.
"As you wish." The figure flings off it's cloak.
Zelda gasps. "Not you!"
"Yes me," the figure replies. It grabs Zelda. "You're coming with me!" It jumps off stage, carrying Zelda with it.
"NOOOO!!!!!!!" cries Zelda.
Mario lands on the grounds of a mysterious mansion (Luigis Mansion (Brawl))
Mario gets up. "What is this place?"
"Well, Mario, where do you think you are? Think hard...," a voice says.
Mario scratches his head. "No....I don't remember this place...," he replies.
"Think of a painting....in this place...," the voice says.
"A painting....in this place....The only place I can think of with paintings is Peach's Castle, but this definitely isn't that," Mario replies.
"Think about your brother. He rescued you from a painting in this place...," the voice says.
"Luigi....rescued me from a painting....in this place...," Mario thinks aloud.
"Come on, Mario. You need ANOTHER hint?" the voice says impatiently.
Mario scratches his head. "I still can't remember."
"I'm tried of giving you hints." The door into the mansion opens. "Just come on in and you'll remember."
Mario enters and looks around. "This looks awfully familiar...," he says.
No reply is heard.
"Hello? Anyone there?" says Mario, his voice echoing off the walls.
No reply.
Mario walks around a corner and then screams in terror. A huge boo with a crown was floating there.
Mario runs. "This place is haunted! Let me out!" Mario screams. He turns the door knob. "I-It's locked! NO!!!! I can't die here! No here, not now!"
The boo advances on Mario...
Just when it seems the boo is about to get Mario, it disappears.
Mario exhales. "Whew. That was close." He walks on
A figure jumps out in front of Mario and shouts, "Boo!"
Mario jumps in surprise. "Yow!!! ...wait. Luigi?!?"
"Scared ya, didn't I bro?" says Luigi.
"That was not funny. You really scared me there," replies Mario, with anger in his voice.
Luigi doubles over laughing.
Mario kicks Luigi. "Luigi! Stop laughing!"
Luigi laughs uncontrollably. "I can't stop Mario! That was just too funny!"
Mario grabs Luigi and with anger in his voice, says, "Stop....laughing.....now!"
Luigi continues laughing
Mario slaps Luigi. "Stop!"
Luigi laughs, then starts coughing. "Let....me....go....can't....breathe...."
Mario releases Luigi. "Don't laugh at that....ever again!"
"Ok, ok. I won't," replies Luigi.
"Now come on. We need to find Bowser," says Mario.
No way bro. I'm staying here," replies Luigi.
"Fine," says Mario. He walks out. "You'll miss out on the fun!" He jumps into a nearby pipe.
Luigi scoffs. "A lot of fun he'll have."
~The plot thickens! Who is that mysterious figure that is carrying Zelda? Why is Luigi acting weird? Who was this "him" the villains were talking about? What has become of Link? The answers shall be revealed in Chapter 8!~
Chapter 8
In the city... (Onett (Melee))
Link grunted and slowly got up. He was still fatigued from his battle with Bowser. Suddenly he remembers something and reaches into his tunic. He pulls out a bottle of milk, takes off the cap, and drinks it. "Ah....," Link says, enjoying the milk, "Mmm.....good." He replaces the cap on the bottle (because he had only drank half of it) and places it back into his tunic. He suddenly felt energized. "I need to find Zelda and Mario!" he says. He dashes off.
On a path to Princess Peachs Castle (Mushroom Kingdom-Melee Adventure Stage 1)...
Mario comes out of a nearby pipe and starts walking down the path. There are lots of Goombas, Koopas, and other types of enemies, but they're no match for Mario. He pounds them all and continues on his way. He jumps up on top of a small cliff and sees a toad running back and forth. "What's wrong?" Mario asks. "It's Bowser! He's brainwashed Yoshi's Island and the Yoshis are attacking the Mushroom Kingdom!" the toad responds. "Son of a spaghetti chef! He won't get away with this!" Mario says, with a look of anger and shock in his eyes. "Look out! Here come some Yoshi's now!" the toad says. Yoshis start raining down and attacking Mario. "Hi-ya!" Mario pwns them all. "Well, that's done. I have to get to Peach's Castle!" He dashes off toward the castle.
At Princess Peachs Castle...
Yoshis are attacking the castle and making a mess of things. "Destroy the castle and find Princess Peach!" the Yoshi leader ordered. "Ahhh!!!!" Peach screamed as Yoshis grab her, "Put me down now!" The Yoshis ran to their leader and, working together, were able to tie Princess Peach up. "Help me, Mario!" Peach yells. She was about to repeat that when a gag was stuffed into her mouth. Peach tried to yell through the gag, but all that could be heard was muffled yells. "Ha ha ha ha ha! You are going with us!" the Yoshi leader says. "Not so fast!" Mario jumps up. "Mario?!? Not you again!" the leader says. "Again? What do you mean?" Mario asks. "Oops," the Yoshi leader says. "You're not a Yoshi at all!" says Mario.
He jumps onto the Yoshi leader and pins him to the ground. Then, he grabs his head and pulls. The Yoshi costume came right off, revealing.... "Bowser?!?" Mario and the Yoshis present say in unison. "This isn't over, Mario!" Bowser grunts. He lunges at Mario, but misses due to Mario jumping. Mario lands and grabs Bowser's tail and throws him into a section of the castle. "Urg...," Bowser says, rubbing his head, "You'll pay for that!" He burns Mario with his fire breath. "Ouch! Ow! Hot hot hot hot hot!" Mario runs around crazily, his hands holding his bottom. Bowser grabs Mario, who starts flailing his arms and legs, and throws him down and Bowser Bombs him, knocking him out. "Bwa ha ha ha! Mario, you're awfully easy to defeat, now that you have no help!" Bowser says evilly. Peach starts yelling and fidgeting, but all that is heard is muffled speech. "You're coming with me, Peach!" says Bowser. He turns to the Yoshis. "Take Peach to my castle!" he orders. The Yoshis reluctantly grab Peach again and carry her off. Bowser grabs Mario and ties him up, then follows behind the Yoshis.
In another dimension (Final Destination)...
Luigi wakes up and rubs his head. "Ugh," he says as he gets up, "Where am I?" "You are in the Dark Realm!" a voice says. A Luigi in a purple outfit appears. "I am Dark Luigi!" he says, "I have taken over your body!" "That....that can't be!" Luigi says in shock. "It sure is. You will do my bidding from now on!" Dark Luigi replies. "Never! I will defeat you and regain control of my body!" Luigi says courageously. They start brawling.
At Ganondorfs Base (Battlefield (Melee))...
Ganondorf appears, still holding Zelda. He flips his hand and clamps appear and grasp Zelda's feet and hands, and then Ganon gags Zelda. Zelda struggles against the clamps and tries to yell through the gag, but to no avail. "You will be trapped here forever! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha!" "Not so fast, Ganon!" Link jumps up. Zelda's face brightens and she tries to say something, but all that is heard is muffled speech. "Let her go, Ganon!" Link says, his sword pointed at Ganondorf, with his face in a serious look. "Never!" replies Ganon. He shifts into a battle pose. "Bring it on!" says Link. He strikes a battle pose.
~What will happen next? Who will win? All will be revealed in Chapter 9!~
Chapter 9:
At Ganondorfs Base, Link and Ganondorf prepare to fight.
"Hold it!" says Ganondorf. "What?" says Link. "I have to move Zelda," responds Ganondorf. He flips his hand and Zelda and the clamps holding her rise into the sky and hover. "Now I'm ready!" says Ganondorf.

Link slashes Ganon, but Ganon dodges and kicks him from the air. Link gets up and Spin Attacks Ganon, then throws a bomb at him. Ganon gets up and pelts Link with a series of punches. Link then slashes the heck out of Ganon and smashes him acorss the stage. Ganondorf recovers and Dark Punches Link off-stage. Link manages to recover and he shoots his Hookshot at Ganon, which grabs him, and Link attacks him, and then throws him off-stage. Ganon recovers and grabs and throws Link off-stage. Link almost loses, but uses his Hookshot to recover (Tether Recovery) and then smashes Ganondorf way off-stage, resulting in a win for Link.

(Victory music plays) "Hooray! I beat Ganondorf!" says Link triumphantly. He looks up at Zelda. "But how do I get you down?" A Smash Ball appears. "Perfect!" Link says. He breaks the Smash Ball and Triforce Slashes the crystal holding Zelda. It breaks and Zelda drops to the ground. The impact breaks the clamps on her feet and Link helps remove the gag and the clamps on her hands. "(exhales) Thanks Link," Zelda says in relief. "No problem, Princess. I mean, I do it all the time," replies Link. "Now, you defeated Ganondorf, but Bowser still worries me," Zelda says. "Yeah, me too," Link responds. He pulls out his milk bottle and takes a drink.
"Yum," he says. He reaches into his tunic and grabs a straw. "Want a sip, Princess?" he asks, offering the straw. "Sure, thanks," Zelda replies. She places the straw into the bottle and drinks the rest of the milk. She then takes the straw and puts it away, then guiltily says, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drink all your milk." "That's ok, Zelda. I have plenty," Link responds. He puts the empty bottle away and produces another bottle full of milk. "Tah-dah!" he says, holding the milk bottle up. He puts it away. "Anyhoo, we need to check if Bowser's planning anything," he says. He and Zelda warp away to their next destination...
At the Dark Realm...
"You will not control my body for long!" "Oh yeah? Well come and get me, bozo!" BLAM! Luigi and Dark Luigi kick each other in mid-air. The impact knocks them sprawling backwards. Luigi Luigi Missles Dark Luigi, then Luigi Tornadoes him upward. Dark Luigi uses the momentum to land a strong down attack on Luigi, who is sent sprawling. Luigi gets up and throws a fireball at Dark Luigi, then grabs him and throws him off the stage. Dark Luigi recovers and smashes Luigi off-stage. Luigi gets back on and Luigi Missles Dark Luigi, then Luigi Tornadoes him upward. This time, Luigi dodges the blow from above that is dealt by Dark Luigi and then smashes Dark Luigi off-stage.

At Luigis Mansion...
Luigi wakes up. "Ugh....my head....," Luigi groans. He rubs his head, then realizes where he is. "I'm at my mansion!" says Luigi. Luigi gets up and thinks. "I do remember one thing before I fought Dark Luigi...." He flashes back to when he was captured after he jumped off Bowser's Base.
-Flashback-
Stage: Fourside
A figure appears, holding Luigi. "Bowser, I found someone you might want to operate on," the figure says. Bowser turns around and, with an evil grin, says, "A test subject! Great work!" "It is but my purpose to serve you, Lord Bowser," the figure responds. It releases Luigi and flies off. Bowser rubs his hands together and his face forms into an evil smirk. "Heh heh heh heh!" He grabs Luigi.
-Flashback-
"Hmm...." Luigi thinks and recalls that. "I need to get back at Bowser!" He leaves his mansion in search of Bowser.

At Bowsers Base...
Mario struggles with his chains and shackles. He couldn't believe he got beaten by Bowser so easily! He ended up looking like a fool in front of the Princess! He stopped struggling and thought "I must've looked utterly stupid! I was such a fool!". He kicks the ground in anger. He didn't try to break free of his chains because he had tried before and all that did was tire him out. So he just relaxed and tried to brainstorm a way out. A few minutes later a guard comes and unlocks his cell. Mario uses that chance to kick the guard and knock him out, then grab his keys. But the keys wouldn't do any good without them being in Mario's hands. So Mario used lots of different ways and finally got the keys into his hands. He unlocks the chains and exits the cell. As he stealthily walks the corridors, he sees lots of guards patrolling.
"This isn't going to be easy," Mario thinks, "I can't just go up and attack them, they might set off an alarm or something." Suddenly an alarm starts blaring. "ALERT ALERT MARIO HAS ESCAPED FIND HIM NOW ALERT ALERT DONT LET HIM GET AWAY!"
the alarm blares. "Oh sh*t!" says Mario. He jumps up to the ceiling and slides into a little place where they can't see him unless they look up. All the guards rush to the cell. Mario drops down and starts running. He gets almost to the exit when... "Hold it right there!" Mario stops abruptly and turns around. "You're not getting away, Mario!" A figure raises it's hand and it and Mario are teleported to a battlefield with spiky balls at the end. "Bwa ha ha ha! Meet my Battlefield of Doom!" says the figure. It steps out of the shadows. "I've defeated you lots of times and I'll do it again, Bowser!" says Mario.
"Oh, will you?" Bowser replies, "We'll see about that!" Bowser spits fireballs and fire at Mario, but he manages to get behind Bowser and grab his tail. "What?!? NO!!!!!!" yells Bowser. Mario spins around and throws him headfirst into a spike ball. It explodes and Bowser rebounds off the explosion and lands on the platform. He gets up, angry, and starts spitting more fire and fireballs. Mario gets hit by some of them, but again manages to grab Bowser by the tail and throw him into another spike ball. Bowser gets up again, even angrier, and spits out even more fire and fireballs and even starts making shockwaves on the floor. Mario, for the last time in this fight, grabs Bowser by the tail and throws him into a spike ball. Bowser lands on his shell and groans.
"No...way..." "Oh yes way!" replies Mario. He grabs Bowser by the tail and throws him way off into the sky. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Bowser yells as he flies away. Suddenly the battlefield disappears and Mario starts falling.....falling.....falling.....
~Game Swap: Super Smash Bros Melee/Brawl~
Mario lands on an airship flying in the sky (Rainbow Cruise (Melee)).
Mario gets up and rubs his head. "Where am I?" "Mario!" "Hm?" Mario asks. He turns around. "Luigi?" "Yeah! Where'd you come from?" Luigi asks. "Well, I got captured by Bowser, then I fought him, and finally fell out of the sky and here I am now," Mario explains. "That's cool. I was headed to climb Mount Icicle, because I heard it has treasure...," Luigi replies. Suddenly, Link lands onto the airship. "Link!" says Mario, "I was wondering where you were." "Yeah, I same here," Link answers. He turns around. "Who's this?" "Oh, that's my brother, Luigi," Mario says, "Luigi, this is Link." "Hi Link," Luigi says, "I need to go adjust something so we don't crash." Luigi walks to the back of the ship. Mario turns around, and his face changes with concern. "Luigi?" asks Mario. "Yeah bro?" Luigi calls back from the control room of the ship. "Is there supposed to be a structure at the bottom of the mountain?" asks Mario.
"What?" Luigi calls in a concerned voice. He comes out. "What...the...friggin...crap...," says Luigi as he stares at the structure. "Luigi! You have to go and try to steer the ship away from the structure!" Mario says. "Right!" replies Luigi. He runs back into the control room. Just then, the ship crashes into a structure and starts to fall. Mario and Link jump onto the structure to be safe. "No! Luigi!" says Mario. "Come on, Mario. No use mourning over it. We have the world to save from some villains!" says Link. Mario wipes the tears from his eyes and says, "You're right. Let's go." The duo start to climb the structure, making their way to Mount Icicle. "Wait!" Luigi calls as he just barely makes it onto the edge of the structure and climbs up. "Wait for me!" Luigi calls again. But Mario and Link are too far ahead to hear Luigi's calls...
Climbing Mount Icicle (Icicle Mountain (Melee))...
Mario and Link see a structure at the top and climb up the mountain to check it out.

Chapter 11:
Mario and Link climb Mount Icicle to reach the mysterious structure at the top.
"How high is this mountain anyway?" says Mario, sweating, as he climbs the mountain. "I'm not sure. But it's really high!" Link responds, also sweating. "I hope we get to the top soon...," says Mario. "Me too," replies Link. "Hold it right there!" a voice calls. Mario and Link stop climbing and turn toward the voice. "Who's there?" Link says, sword and shield drawn. A duo with hammers step out of the shadows. "We are the Ice Climbers. We are here to pound you for ruining our beautiful mountain!" the duo says. They run at Link and Mario and the four of them start brawling.
"What did we do?" Mario asks as he dodged a Squall Hammer. "You built those structures!" the Ice Climbers respond, still fighting Link and Mario. "We did not!" says Link as he slashes the IC. "You have no proof!" says Mario as he Super Jump Punches the IC. "You may not have built it," the Ice Climbers say as they start a Blizzard, "but you're the one's we're going to beat up for it!" "You're gonna regret that!" Mario replies. He breaks a nearby Smash Ball. "Look out, Link!" he says as he fires his Final Smash (Mario Finale). Link drops down and dodges it. The IC were knocked off-stage, resulting in a win for Mario and Link. They walked over to the Ice Climbers and Mario says, "You lose. Now what exactly is at the top?" "It's a base of some sort," the IC replies, "workers were sent down to build the structure at the bottom just recently."
"How do they get back up?" Link asks. "Well, they take a secret passage...," the IC responds. "Where is it?" Mario asks. "Over there." The IC point to an opening in the mountain. "It's a secret passage to the base above." "Thanks Ice Climbers!" Link says. He turns to Mario. "Let's go!" he enters the opening, with Mario on his heels. They emerge at the Summit. They look up and realize that the structure at the top is floating high up in the sky and the only way to get there is to find some sort of aircraft and fly up there. "What can we use?" Mario asks. "If we had Luigi's Airship, we could," Link answers. "Guys!" a voice calls. An airship floats up. "Luigi?!?" Mario asks. "Hop on! I'll get you up to that structure!" Luigi responds. "What a coincidence. We were just talking about you," Link says. He jumps onto the ship. "Ok guys. Here we go!" says Luigi. He goes to the back of the airship. It floats upward toward the structure in the sky...
At the floating structure (Battlefield (Brawl))...
"Thanks for the ride Luigi!" says Mario gratefully. "You're welcome. Anytime," Luigi responds. Suddenly, the airship's engine dies. "NO!!!!! Not again!" Luigi screams in terror. The airship starts falling at an alarming rate. Link tries to get up to the platform, but fails. "Good luck Mariooooooooo!" calls Link as he falls to the ground. "Thanks!" Mario calls back. He looks around and sees a dark winged figure. Mario walks up to it. "Hi," Mario says. The figures flaps it's cape and disappears. "What the?" Mario says in surprise. The figure appears behind Mario and slashes him.
"Argh!" Mario groans as he sprawls forward. "Who are you? How did you get up here? Why have you come?" the figure asks. Mario gets up and answers, "I'm Mario; by an airship; and I was curious what this structure was, because I saw it from the mountain." "Well, well, well. Mario...I've heard about you from Kirby. You got defeated by a member of the WYAV (Whoop Yo ♥♥♥ Villains). His name is Ganondorf," the figure replies. "Kirby?!? Is he ok?" Mario says. "He is unharmed...at least, at the moment. By the way, I am also a member of the WYAV. I am Meta Knight," the figure responds. "You're going down, Meta Knight!" says Mario. "I think not. It is you that will go down," Meta Knight replies. Brawl start!
Let's check on Link...
Link is falling and falling and falling. He finally lands in water and surfaces. He jumps up on top of the ship nearby and sees a young boy with the same kind of clothes as he does. "Hey, who are you?" Link asks. "I should be the one asking that!" the boy replies. "Well, I'm Link," Link says. "I'm Link too! You're an imposter!" the boy responds and he starts attacking Link. "We're both Link! Just you must be the cartoon version of me!" says Link as he dodges blows from the boy. The boy stops attacking. "You're right," he says.
Meanwhile, at the floating structure...
SLASH! Meta Knight slashes Mario, but Mario dodges and punches Meta Knight several times. Meta Knight counterattacks with a Mach Tornado and a Drill Rush, sending Mario flying. Mario recovers and uses a Super Jump Punch and then throws a Fireball at Meta Knight. Meta Knight disappears and reappears behind Mario and slashes him, sending him flying. Mario gets back on the stage and smashes Meta Knight way off into the distance for a win.
Brawl End!

Chapter 12 Part One
On the Pirate Ship...
Link is manning the helm, with Toon Link keeping watch. "See anything unusual, Toon Link?" Link calls. "Not yet, but I'll keep looking!" Toon Link replies. He suddenly spots something. "Captain! Tornado, dead ahead!" Toon Link calls. "Oh sh*t!" says Link. He turns the wheel to try and avoid the tornado, but to no avail. They were sent spinning sky-high. When they stopped, they were in the air. "Cool! A flying ship!" Toon Link says to himself. Suddenly, the ships starts plunging down. "Agh!!!!" Toon Link yells. The ship lands in water and Toon Link is sent flying into the distance. "You ok, Toon Link?" Link calls. No response. "Toon Link? You there?" Link says.
He comes out on deck and climbs up to the lookout tower. "Toon Link?" he calls as he climbs up the ladder. He reaches the top and says, "Oh no." He climbs to his feet and yells. "Toon Link! Are you out there?" No reply. "That was stupid," Link says to himself. He was looking for Toon Link and was so preoccupied with that that (no typo here) he didn't notice that the ship was headed for an island out in the sea. He turned and saw the island. "Oh no!" he says. He jumps down to the deck, grabs the wheel, and turns it, but the ships runs aground on the island. "D*mn," Link says. He jumps up onto the island. "Well, I guess I'll explore," he says.
Meanwhile, in Norfair (Brawl)...
Samus the bounty hunter walks around, trying to think of what to do. A wave of lava comes and she quickly jumps into a nearby pod to survive. She jumps out and then notices that the lava burned a hole in the side of the cavern.
She lands on a nearby bridge (Bridge of Eldin), and she looks around, glad to be free of that fiery cavern. She walks off in hunt for a target...
Meanwhile, on the island (Kongo Jungle (Melee))...
Link jumps up onto the wooden structure and looks around. "What is this place?" he says aloud. He looks down. "That's a long way down...," Link says. Suddenly he fells someone tapping him on the shoulder. He turns around to see two monkeys (Donkey and Diddy Kong). "What? Who are you?" Link asks. "{I should be asking you that same thing}," Donkey Kong says (when speech is inside brackets ({ and }), then that means that they don't actually talk, but the noises they make mean the speech). "Well, I'm Link. My ship ran aground onto this island and I'm exploring," Link replies. "{Oh really? I'm Donkey Kong and I'm the king of this jungle. Now if you're really here to challenge my leadership, let us fight. If not, I shall push you down the waterfall, off my throne}," DK replies.
"Oh, so this is your throne huh? Well I really don't want to be thrown down the waterfall but I'm not here to challenge your leadership...," Link says, trailing off in thought. DK grabs him and walks to the edge. "Hey, what gives? Lemme go!" Link says, flailing his arms and legs. DK throws him down the waterfall. "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Link yells as he plunges toward the ground. He grabs a rock on the waterfall and looks up, then down. "I can't climb back up, so the only way is down. Maybe I can land on that platform floating on the water. The current is too strong to be in," Link says to himself. He dives down and rolls safely on the floating wooden structure (Jungle Japes (Melee)). "What a great landing!" Link says in triumph. He looks around. "But...where am I now?"
"Mamma miaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!" "Huh?" Link turns around, but something smacks into him and he tumbles to the ground. "Wha?" Link said, holding his head and looking around, "What hit me?" "Ugh...," "Huh?" Link asked. He looked at who made the sound. "Mario!" Link said surprised. "I was thrown down, too. That was a long way down," Mario replied, rubbing his head. "Where are we now, and where are going to go?" Link wondered aloud. "I dunno," Mario replied, looking around. "Hey! Looks like you two need a ride!" someone said. "Well, yeah. Wait...who are you?" Link asked, looking around. A fox and a falcon came into view (Fox and Falco). "Hey guys. It's us, Fox and Falco. The Starfox duo!" Fox said. "Who?" Link asked, puzzled. "Guys! You're here!" Mario said joyfully. "Mario! Good to see ya!" Falco said. "Where are we?" Link asked, still puzzled. "You're on DK Island, folks," Fox replied.
"Can you give us a lift?" Mario asked. "Oh sure, why not? Where you two want to go?" Fox asked. "Anywhere's better than here!" Link replied. "Hop on," Falco said, jumping onto the Great Fox (The Starfox Ship). Fox, Link, and Mario jumped on as well. Fox and Falco ran to the control center and started the engine and set the destination.
