You're using that version in your Forge 1.7.2 profile, correct?

In your .minecraft folder (you can actually just jump right to it by clicking Image Open Game Directory next to Save Profile), add a mods folder. If there already is one, you should clear it out. Then you download the dropbox folder Ven linked as a .zip (direct download link there). Unzip it and click the new "mods" folder, and then the next "mods" folder within where the list of mods, like this:
Image
Select the entire list, copy it, and go back to your .minecraft/mods folder. Paste them all in and your Forge profile should automatically find and use them, and you'll be ready to play on the server.

The console message on you trying to join:
"12:09:48 CONSOLE: IO #6/INFO] [FML]: Attempting connection with missing mods [CodeChickenCore, NotEnoughItems, BiblioCraft, CarpentersBlocks, IronChest, weaponmod] at CLIENT"
Yeah, you must not have the mods installed, Kary. edit: You only have base Forge installed according to console. Just follow the directions above.

More on guilds, we had some basic ideas:

Everything is set in probably the 1600s-1700s ish.
Water would have a sort of Oriental/Asian build style.
Earth would have a sort of colonial build style (North American).
Fire would be sort of tribal and mysterious. (African?)
Air we didn't really decide on, but if we were going to go with continents/regions, it would probably be European.

Remember that Ven and Raz switched their guild names, so Ven is Earth based on actual location but Air for build style and vice versa for Raz.

edit 2:

Weaponmod ID conflict or something? Try deleting your .minecraft/config folder and restart MC.

So I followed your instructions and everything got lost and confused, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft - and get rid of any of the previous files so everything was sorted out.

Things were looking fine until, after redoing everything, reinstalling the Forge downloader did not create a new Forge profile. For absolutely no reason whatsoever. It's going into the Downloads folder, as it should be, but isn't doing anything. Plus, after redownloading Minecraft, I do not have any of the folders I should have. This is all I have:

I've tried putting it into the folder, as you can see, but I have nothing to work with anymore.

I think you have to actually run the launcher and start MC once, whatever version, to get all the files. Then try running the Forge installer? You should be able to create the Forge profile in the launcher as usual after that.

Want to just get on IRC? It would be easier to talk.

EDIT: Well, it seems like you have Forge installed fine according to the console. Here's the mods folder link. Unzip it and copy the folder inside to your .minecraft folder. You shouldn't have to do anything else.

I'll try to get on IRC, but because of my luck it sometimes won't let me on :p

Well now I'm back to where I was, with Mod IDs are missing. I've deleted the config file and done everything you said, OJ.

Right now console is just spitting out

13:09:40 CONSOLE: IO #7/INFO] [FML]: Client attempting to join with 3 mods : mcp@8.09,FML@7.2.116.1024,Forge@10.12.0.1024
13:09:40 CONSOLE: IO #7/INFO] [FML]: Attempting connection with missing mods [CodeChickenCore, NotEnoughItems, BiblioCraft, CarpentersBlocks, IronChest, weaponmod] at CLIENT

which means you don't have the mods installed, but your Forge installation is correct.

EDIT: It's still saying the same thing.
13:20:50 CONSOLE: IO #15/INFO] [FML]: Attempting connection with missing mods [CodeChickenCore, NotEnoughItems, BiblioCraft, CarpentersBlocks, IronChest, weaponmod] at CLIENT
13:20:50 CONSOLE: [INFO] Karyete lost connection: TextComponent{text='Disconnected', siblings=[], style=Style{hasParent=false, color=null, bold=null, italic=null, underlined=null, obfuscated=null, clickEvent=null, hoverEvent=null}}

I have to go now so I'm leaving you with Ven.

Seriously, this is the last place it can go, and it is STILL saying the same error, so I don't know anymore.

So I just did the mods download myself, and there's a slight issue that might be bugging things up, after you download it as a .zip and open with winrar/7zip/similar, you've gotta doubleclick the mods folder to actually get to the list with the mods themselves. Simply dragging the "mods" folder that appears after opening it with winrar or whatever won't work, because that'll result in the filepath .minecraft->mods->mods->[a bunch of .jar and.zip files that the game requires you to have to join], and Forge won't be able to see them.

There's two ways around this, either go one layer deeper in your winrar/7zip program, or delete the mods folder in your .minecraft folder, and then replace it with the downloaded one.

EDIT, if this doesn't work I'm working on a comprehensive tutorial with images and stuff.

Erm...OK then.

I'm willing to pay money for that image tutorial though, cuz that'll make things so much easier.

So, on the guild thing...have the guilds reset along with the map? So the guilds on the front of page need changing?

Kay, so I made a thing. This is a complete walkthrough, including everything from setting up a clean install to backing up your worldsaves to verifying that it installed correctly, so if you're familiar with Forge and Minecraft mods, it's possible to skip several steps. If you're new to this, however, it's recommended that you follow the entire thing. Keep in mind that this will erase any server IPs you may have saved in your game, so it would be a good idea to write down any you want to remember.

The walkthrough

I could try a video walkthrough if there's demand for it too.
