I get out somewhere around the 21st due to snow days, so no.

It really depends on the school lol. Usually school lets out by the end of the first full week of June, give or take maybe two weeks because of school variances in starting time (some in early August, some in September), and then the whole snow day makeup thing screws up all of it for more northern states. Some schools will append those to the last days of the year, and others will cancel scheduled off-days during the year to keep the same ending time. Generally you could say it's just super ♥♥♥♥ up. You guys don't have these problems in Canada since your winters are way harsher than ours and you're used to thick snow most of the time, but some of these places in the States panic at a scary weather forecast (which often turn out less exciting) and skew the whole schedule by calling it off a few days in advance. I've been out since the fifth.

But yeah, I hate to bring it up again, but we need to organize these big events like at least a week prior. :p Today is Father's Day anyway, at least in the US, dunno about Canada or wherever else, and it's a pretty big thing around here so I wouldn't have made it to the thing today.

I've been out since the end of May, so woot.

Also, in case you guys are wondering, I haven't been on the server lately because it's a bit of a headache to put all the mods in, especially considering there's not even completely stable. Not to mention all the drama that goes on here and on the server. In my personal opinion, I think the whole RP thing is just a huge pain in the long run. Sure, it's kinda cool, but at times it seems disorganized and forced. I'm happier over in FrafCraft, there's no mods or anything needed and there's much less headache involved.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

Except it's not a pain at all because all you have to do is run a different profile in the minecraft launcher. And it can't really be anymore simpler than it is unless someone else does it for you.

It is when you constantly have to move mods around when you want to play on a different server. Also you're using what I said out of context, the whole pain isn't just the mods themselves, it's also the drama.

The mods and stuff haven't actually updated in ever, as Raz said, it's been as simple as selecting the Forge profile in your launcher for the past like, month. :p Unless you're on other modded servers?

But there HAS been a new Forge out. We're not really in any rush to update now that things are working properly, though. That being said, the drama's been pretty nonexistant these last few days. Unfortunately most players seem to be following your line of thought and giving up, it's been pretty dead except for myself and a few other regulars.

If the inactivity keeps up into the summer, I think the next map will be dropping the roleplay and accompanying plugins (let's face it, the only real reason we had them was WorldEdit/WorldGuard. Everything else can be done with mods, without the conflicts or hassle of updating them alongside Forge). WorldPainter is rad, but probably won't happen again either due to time constraints... mods though, that would be awesome. It would be the same idea, neat additions but nothing gamechanging, maybe a few more.

But that's how it stands. I'm perfectly happy building alone, whether it's on an empty server or singleplayer doesn't matter to me. If enough people want a change then we will.

Conversely, my issue with Frafcraft is that it's too "big server-y". I hate all the economy junk, if things are going to be accessible through them, don't hide them behind an in-game economy or paywall.

EDIT: Even if you are on other modded servers, Forge still loads them all, but only applies the ones you need upon joining a server. I can still join and play fine on 1.7.2 vanilla servers, on my modded profile, or join our server with extras.

You can join servers that have no mods on the profile that has mods..
And I'm addressing one part, the other part I didn't know what to say on, but really the drama is over and we've already fixed the causes of the drama.

Really the only economy stuff I deal with is the market, which I really like. The rest is meh, but I really like the community. The server admins are all nice, there's not one that tends to be a snarky jerk, and they're almost always working on something new and making sure everything's in working order. Not that you guys don't do that stuff, they just seem more organized, plus they reach out to a larger audience and don't limit themselves to a small community.

I actually did not know that, thanks.

Lawl, I should say that Fraf is far from a bad server. To cite an example of the kind of thing that actually pisses me off, though...

Spoiler: show
Last time I was on, I set up in a mesa biome, thinking "Aw man this is gonna be a ♥♥♥♥ awesome Mars base." I had heard there was a plugin that had added that full smoothstone slab block, block ID 47:9 or something, and so I was super hyped to use it and make everything look all futurey and stuff. So I log in, ask about it, I'm told to check out the market. No big deal right? So I head on down, with full intent to buy like 6000 of the things (because if your Mars base isn't sprawling, you're doing it wrong) and....

... $500 dollars? Wow, that's a little excessive considering it's literally two smoothstone slabs stacked on top of each other, without the ugly horizontal line. Not like stone is rare or anything, right? Surely I'll get a stack for that $500. So I cut some trees, get a ton of wood, sell it all, and...

... one block. The ♥♥♥♥ is this. $500 in this in game economy got me one block? What the hell is the point of this, even, who would buy only one? Needless to say this brought my dream of a Mars base crashing abruptly back to Earth (hee) and there went all my motivation to play on that server anymore. That's the worst kind of torture for me, to have a dream made unattainable because (and I quote an OP) "it's not obtainable in survival".

Yeah they have a point, it's not. But again, it's obviously a great block for what I had planned, and I would've needed a lot of them. I could easily get a lot of smoothstone slabs by mining and smelting a lot of stone, and then traded them at a 2:1 ratio. That would be logical, right? But nobody would go for it, and that's particularly infuriating when combined with the fact that the market adjusts for demand and increases the cost to compensate for me buying one.

It's a good system, for the most part. But that one instance is hugely ♥♥♥♥, the block I wanted to use should logically have a crafting recipe of two stone slabs on top of each other. But instead I'd be forced to deforest an entire continent, commit genocide on all the planet's cows, Fortune3 the hell out of every diamond deposit in the bowels of the earth, just to sell it all in the futile hopes of being able to make a nice base. Talk about a motivation killer.

That and I really don't care for the real market, the one that sells fly commands and redstone devices for actual money. Minecraft should be about building your own stuff, not about who can pay more to have the nicest setup. A lot of that stuff doesn't need payment, just go mine redstone or whatever, but it's the idea behind it that gets to me. Whatever happened to actually asking someone who's good with redstone to help you out, give them a diamond for their trouble or help them out with something in return?

When you put it that way, it does seem ridiculous. A block used purely for decorative purposes shouldn't be that expensive, I agree. I actually didn't know about that kind of block, I don't do a whole lot of building so I never paid attention. Then again, perhaps they're working on that? I could ask them. I might do that, now I'm curious...

Then again, when you think about it, $500 on the server isn't really THAT much. I've built up almost $100,000 just by selling crops from my farm and other random things that I frequently get surpluses of.

EDIT: I don't deal with the real branch for two reasons: one because I don't really care about flying, and two because I don't care much about redstone stuff, and what I do care about I can do by myself. Pretty much rules out any reason I have to use it.
