My level was a protest towards a personal pattern I had noticed, where a level's graphics and aesthetics and overall "poetry" or whatever were significantly more valued than actual gameplay.

I'm actually glad I didn't place. That means our current judges value gameplay more now. And that's the way I would like it to be from now on. Then again I guess my level did kind of suck xD

Also... I know it all seems to be already calming down, but I still want to ask you all people to please be chill. This is just a game. Don't take it seriously. Do it for fun.
Some day I'll fix my sig.

I'm just slowly reading the posts backwards because I know I failed and I want to make it less painful.

the water actually has an issue where it changes position in player mode.

fffffffuuuuuucckkkkkk I knew that was going to happen. The water in SM63 is so broken I just had to screw with it in little ways.

I actually just had a day where I looked at the contest, looked at the designer, and just thought "♥♥♥♥ it, I'll make a simulation of what happens when space and time break"

Didn't really work out well, but when you're stuck with 25x25, eh.

Surprised no one noticed I used a snow rotating block to patch a gap in the snow "planet" though.

EDIT: Goddamn it Cam, you sly son of a ♥♥♥♥♥. You were the only one who saw it. XD

EDIT2: Ah well, I'm a bit better at LL's designer. Will play with ♥♥♥♥ around with the sm63 designer code though, just for boredom's sake. Yay for not getting last place for the...fourth time. <3

Meh. I agree I went waaay too over the top with the decoration this time, but 1 in graphics? Shouldn't this kind of score be reserved to levels that have cuttoff, floating items and alike?

XD

By the time I got the level reworked enough that everything fit, I couldn't get the last few challenges to line up the way I wanted to. I actually tried to time it so that the upper invisibility gave you JUST enough time to get back down if you made a mistake, but without ruining all the other challenges. And for the record, my thought on the Hover FLUDD was that the rocket would send you past the entrance to the lava test, but he Hover would take you smoothly in. Yes, clearly, you can angle the Rocket so it bashes you in there, but that's really just being stubborn with the Rocket FLUDD. As for overall decoration, I didn't want the decoration to get in the way of things, and it was smashed enough as it was. And the Wing Cap? Start your triple jump just under the overhang on the left, and it lines up perfectly every time.

Anyways. I knew it wasn't perfect, and I'm not surprised by the 14th place (though I was hoping for a little higher), but as my first try at that small a level, I'm still happy with it.

1 means a 20% score in graphics, and i felt like the decoration was so insane it detracted to the point of 20%

Graphics and story are important, but because Gameplay has 10 maximum points as opposed to 5 (or possibly 2 from story in misc.), there's no way they are more important than gameplay. Don't worry Nan. c:

Also, links? Really? I've been fighting lost links for months, while wrangling the first LDCs, and you guys are using links? Nope. Not letting it stand. Edited linked content into the text of vital posts. Done. (I also added important links to the first post.)

Doram claps his hands a couple of times to knock the dust off, and then brushes some more dust off his shoulder. He picks up his keyboard and wanders back into the forums.

I'm happy with my place, even though as usual I think it's too high :/ I want to talk a bit about MK's judging (not in a negative way at all), but I don't want to reignite the debate from earlier.
