We were in my Science class, talking about how the moon affects the tides. Our teacher said that the moon moves farther and farther away each year. Soon, it won't be near us.
Now, I know the following the moon does that affects Earth:
What the moon does
1- Controls the tides
2- Affects the night sky
3- Controls the rotation of the Earth
Now, my theories over how the Moon may leave us?
Theories on Moon Disappearance
1- The moon gets to far off that it floats away into another planet's pull
==Possible?- No
===Reason why not?- The moon sits between the Earth and Sun. At some point, yes, the moon will float away, but it wouldn't be possible to float into another planet's reach.
2- The moon floats into the Sun, burning up the iron it is made of
==Possible?- Maybe
===Reason why?- The moon will soon be close enough to the Sun, yes, but there is a slight chance it will become it's own planet.
3- The moon gets to far off that it collides with another planet, sending parts of said planet to the Earth or neighboring planets
==Possible?- Maybe
===Reason why?- The moon is getting farther, and neighboring planets are far away. But should any parts break away from the collision, it may form up into a new moon for the planet for which the moon collided into.
What would happen without the moon?
1- Erosion from tides would cease to happen
2- The Earth's rotation would be in all directions
3- The gravitational pull of the sun will be stronger on Earth to...
==A- Guide us closer into the Sun
==B- Be flung out into space to.....
===1- Become a moon to another planet
===2- Collide with another planet and obliterate all life
===3- Fly into another star's solar system
Reason 3B3 Effects:
1- No light=Plants die=Herbivores die=Carnivores/Humans die= Humans die=Death of all life
What are your thoughts over this theory?
