Glitch

Postby BigbadBoy » February 27th, 2015, 5:46 am

I can say an glitch? At the start of the game,in the castle, follow the FIRST door of where Ediee goes, now,go near to the door what needs an key,and triple jumping until you are in the black,if you are jumping in the black you see an door upside.tripe jump again until you are near to the door, and enter the door. Now enter the right door down. You are in the garden without any shine sprites! It's more than that.Beat Magic Koopa in the rightside of the garden, you have the "first" shine sprite!More. Now go to the first level (the first level by the left in the castle) and go into the world.if you are in and you press "P" and press on "Star Map" you will see "???" at level 1! (The game it's confusesd and says "I will release!" and releases "???") Cool glitch,no? :D

Not a glitch, sorry. That also happens if you get the first Shine Sprite normally, and the "???" in the Star Map disappears once you get any first Shine Sprite in Bob-omb Battlefield, and this applies for any other course as well.

Thank you, FF.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

I wonder if this has been found before:

In Bowser 1 (Bowser in the Dark World),go to the part with 5 blocks moving up and down. There should be one block moving horizontally below, jump on it. Ride the block until it reaches the leftmost block, then press down.
If done correctly, you should trigger a secret pipe warp that leads you right to the boss battle.

Well... I just want to join the discussion. The only unusual things I noticed about sm63 is that if you stand in front of the painting, and enter the pause menu, and still while in the pause menu you can press the up arrow key to enter the painting and start the course. You can see the pause screen but mario jumps into the painting and all of a sudden the pause screen disappears and you enter the shine selection menu. A mildly entertaining glitch. Also the level designer takes its information primarily from file A of the story of sm63. So if you play on file b, c or d with file A as a new file you won't be able to exit the 'test level' in the designer. Also, if you enter the level designer from the story mode as luigi, you guessed it you can play as luigi in the level designer (though the start position still has mario's image.

The File A thing only applies to the original 2009 release of the game, and you can also change what file it's reading from by loading that file iirc
I speedrun Super Mario 63. The leaderboards are at http://www.speedrun.com/sm63.

Wow, so many bugs! (No, they aren't bugs. They are secrets, Runouw just like doing that!)
Altohough I have passed the whole level without using these secrets, I am surprised.
But when I turn on the toggles, the music stops.

JPG :rarrow: update! :rarrow: GIF!
My rating standards: show
I have rated so many levels but I didn't obey any rules. Here is my own rating standard. ( New judging standards! )

I'll give each level an unoffical overview with 100 points in total.

1.Level Quality: (25/100 points): Include level diffculty, graphics and the designing of the level. If a level is so hard or laggy that I can't pass this star will immediately be lost. And if a level is so easy that I can EASILY pass it, I'll cost scores according to the circumstances.
How to judge if a level is laggy:

FPS: 26+: Good.

FPS: 20-26: Not very good, but it can be accepted.

FPS: 14-20: Bad.
FPS: 14-: Terrible, I can't stand!

Here is a tutorial that can prevent a "laggy" level:Why is a Level Laggy?
Tutorial that can make better text in LD: Coming Soon!

2.In-game playing: (45/100 points): Include level decoration, the use of tiles. And if this level is interesting, fascinating and chellenging, etc.

3.Other (30/100 points): Mistakes, bugs and warm tips. If there is any bugs that can't let me pass the level, I'll reduce a lot of points..

Final rating:
0-29 = 1 star
25-59 = 2 stars

60-74 = 3 stars
75-84 = 4 stars
85-100 = 5 stars

I'll continue updating these rules and I'll use these rules to rate levels.
Upcoming levels: show
The Secret Room 2
Completed!
I'm making a sigbar...probably by Minecraft.

The only thing I can say is something that's probably really obvious. The music for shifting sand land came from mario luigi partners in time! Not super smash bros. PARTNERS IN TIME FOR LIFE. I'm pretty sure the mario and luigi sprites came from there as well. Ah... Sm63. Galaxy, sunshine, mario bros and mario maker all wrapped into one beautiful buggy package. Who could ever forget spider toad, or the all powerful MEWTWO. At least that's how I think it's spelled.
