This looks super confusing, Don't you think it's a bit complicated. plus what happens if one person is away during their turn does everyone just wait?

It's not too confusing. Turn order's basically: Use items (if any), Roll dice, land on space, space effects trigger, next person's turn, etc. A minigame after everyone has taken one turn.

And yeah, unfortunately we have to wait if someone is not responding when they're at a junction or need to use an item. But I say it's worth it in the end
