Metroidvania is probably better for LL because vertical transitions and triggers.
I won't nominate anything since I haven't actually been in an LDC other than a mini-LDC. But I think dream is interesting, if it's what I think it is.
Sounds like a good excuse to throw in loads of cut-offs good chance to get creative.

DQ's for not fitting the theme require that you're REALLY not fitting the theme, e.g. you make a volcano level when the theme is Sky. If you only just fit the theme by 50%, a point deduction is more common.

There haven't been any DQ's for rulebreakings like not fitting the theme or editing after the deadline since the 15th LDC (I think?), so that's not something to really worry about

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

uh, we're gonna need some help

For some odd reason SM63 is not available, I tried accessing both the regular popup and the level designer only link, and both were "temporarily removed due to low bandwidth".
Expect something cool here soon!

If vertical does become the theme, level transitions should be allowed to avoid lag, but most of the level should be going upwards. Still nominating vertical.

For the duel that I currently am doing I just have to use the download version of the game. However it does take a minute to access. And some people may not have downloaded it yet so... Maybe we should hold off the LDC a bit.
Might be ready in a bit.

There's absolutely no reason for this. We have a backup set up for the downloadable version, and Newgrounds is still hosting the game.

Yeah, we actually have two advantages since we're forced to use the in-game designers: We can use water bottles, and we also can mute the music before playing so invisibility caps won't ♥♥♥♥ up with music. Also the download version is more stable in terms of AFP crashes. Just overcome your weaker self. If anyone doesn't wanna go to Newgrounds and needs the download.exe, it's here: http://www.lastlegacy.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&p=1913#p1913

I actually couldn't find the downloadable version links and newgrounds is very laggy for me. Thanks for the link, shroom.

Please do.

Well, most of the things I would nominate has already been nominated and I can't think of anything else that's good and open enough. Stuff like "Wild West" or "Oriental" or "Heaven" or "Sewers" are probably too restricted.
But if I have to nominate something, I'm not sure if this was already a past theme, it's rather simple (and rather lame): Red Coins/Silver Stars Hunt. Basically exactly what it says.
