Greetings, Runouw.com! It is I, the ex-West Pole C.E.O, and the foolish samuRai who sets the tables. And I'm in charge of serving lunch today.

There were several consecutive developments backstage that led to this awards post being delayed. Our late running judge, , was rendered unable to finish his Red side judgings in time. Furthermore, given how it's been a long while since the First Round polls' deadline was due, our hosts have settled on skipping the Final Round poll. This way, they can release the final scores on the already established averages, minus Harm's Green scores, as all the remaining judges have voted on both sides of the contest.

With both Nan and Yuri out of town, and my already having prepared another little surprise, which we'll elaborate on as soon as I'm done announcing the results, I took over the awards announcement, so all of those posts may be unveiled at the same time. And so, here we are.

I'm not particularly skilled at pulling off fancy writing while on a deadline myself, so I'll keep the filler to a minimum. Then, without further ado...
            T H E R E S U L T S !
First in line is the lower end of the scoreboard. If your entry somehow wound up in here, don't take it too hard. This contest was especially packed with action. Both Vaults were consistent and fun to play through. There were, however, plenty of catches in most levels, and I'll skim through those, as well as your level's strong points.

                I Remember...
                made by

with a final score of 12,62
(and a high score of 15,60 from )

The judges had mixed impressions on your level's execution. The story was as interesting as it was made confusing by its poor delivery, with so many signs, so much terrain and so few instructions.

                Elemental Highway
                made by

with a final score of 13,56
(and a high score of 16 from and )

Love them or hate them, your level's wacky mechanics took the spotlight in the reviews. And while your entry wasn't exactly lacking in graphics, its sheer size made it come across as rather bland for some users.

                Midnight Forest
                made by

with a final score of 13,63
(and a high score of 16,375 from )

This level had some of the most intuitive gameplay from the whole contest. So much so that it went full circle and ruined the experience for some, for its being a smaller and easier level than the others.

                Dense Mountain
                made by

with a final score of 14,48
(and a high score of 16 from )

This was a solid entry, maybe your best work this far, but most players didn't get accustomed to this level's mechanics and scarce directions, which made this level far more frustrating than it should.

                High Ridge Hills
                made by

with a final score of 14,48
(and a high score of 15,5 from )

This level was spot on for five days' worth of mapping. Clean execution and solid mechanics. Had you some more time to experiment with unique mechanics, it just might have been able to snatch a ribbon.

                Aerial Artillery - Phase 2
                made by

with a final score of 14,63
(and a high score of 15,15 from )

This level was challenging and creative, but its sheer size and considerably tough difficulty made it far too much for a Flash Player to handle, and, in extension, for us.

                Nightcloud Alpine
                made by

with a final score of 14,96
(and a high score of 15,60 from )

This might a been a bit of a safe bet. Your graphics were awesome, but clearing this level at a walking pace was far too easy a quest for many of us, regardless of the lack of checkpoints.

                But wait!

                Image

                You got a Bacon!

Your entry was ranked fifth out of 10 in the overall scores of the Green Contest, meaning it would have warranted you a red ribbon if not for the overall scoreboard. Since it hasn't won any awards, here goes a little bonus.

                Next are the main awards!
                      :ldc6: I N 6 TH P L A C E :ldc6:

                      Woodlands of Eternal Green
                      made by

with a final score of 15,05
(and a high score of 18 from )

On one hand, Woodlands had nothing short of unique design. On the other, Woodlands had nothing short of extreme difficulty. With ten points out of twenty being reserved for gameplay, the result is a far too preemptive announcement here in the main awards.

                          :ldc5: I N 5 TH P L A C E :ldc5:

                          The Lost Factory (Red Edition)
                          made by

with a final score of 15,55
(and a high score of 16 from )

This was a superb, genuine pure platformer. However, some issues were raised regarding certain obstacles that prevented this level from going even higher up the table.

P.S. Your entry The Lost Factory (Green) will not be awarded, as this entry received a higher score.

(and a high score of 18 from )

This was a wonderful entry, as well. Though its puzzles' reception by the judges wasn't unanimous. Difficulty aside, the main issue was having to start the coin hunt from scratch after an untimely knockout.

                              Enjoy the cursed ribbon, FL.

P.S. Your entry Willow Woods: The Coven will not be awarded, as this entry received a higher score.

(and a high score of 19 from )

Well done! Despite being on the verge of bad performance issues due to the transitions' complexity, this was a very enjoyable level. All of us had a tough time beating this level, but next to no obstacles seemed unfair in any way.

Holy guacamole! That was a close finish. We loved every ounce of creativity you've poured into your levels. Unfortunately, it's still a few minor issues' worth short of perfection.

Congratulations, KABOOM! This was one hell of an entry. While some of our judges pointed out your indoor decorations could use something extra, we all agreed playing the level was nothing short of sheer fun.

I'm still laughing at getting beaten for 2nd by a single decimal point.

Props to ya Jumbo. I, too, think your level was 0.01 better than mine <3

so yeah sorry about the late judgings, college basically slapped me in the face when I was trying to look for time to get red judgings in...

If it makes some of you feel better on Green side, npromin, John, and Charcoal were my highest scores and I conceived them as pretty big winners.

If you want me to give you my judgings, shoot me a PM and I'll try to respond quickly.

                                          2. Graphics(10 points): I will take points off depending on how laggy this level is. Again, generally, most of the levels should get full points on this.

                                          !!!Special Rules!!!
                                          1. If I see any cutoffs-any at all, at least 10 points will be lost.
                                          2. If level does not fit theme, 25 points will be lost.
                                          3. If there's anything that's extraordinarily inspiring and unique, I will add extra points.
                                          4. The harshness of my rating, that means how strict I am while rating the level depends on how long has the author been designing.
                                          5. If there're any flaws that doesn't pertain to all rules above, I will deduct points within reason.

EDIT 1(April 11): decreased the amount of the points given for laggy and bad game playing

A level, just like a person, is Never perfect.

Every time you have more of an item, that item becomes less valuable.

I have rated so many levels but I didn't obey any rules. Here is my own rating standard. ( New judging standards! )

I'll give each level an unoffical overview with 100 points in total.

1.Level Quality: (25/100 points): Include level diffculty, graphics and the designing of the level. If a level is so hard or laggy that I can't pass this star will immediately be lost. And if a level is so easy that I can EASILY pass it, I'll cost scores according to the circumstances.
How to judge if a level is laggy:

                                          FPS: 26+: Good.

FPS: 20-26: Not very good, but it can be accepted.

                                          FPS: 14-20: Bad.
                                          FPS: 14-: Terrible, I can't stand!

Here is a tutorial that can prevent a "laggy" level:Why is a Level Laggy?
Tutorial that can make better text in LD: Coming Soon!

2.In-game playing: (45/100 points): Include level decoration, the use of tiles. And if this level is interesting, fascinating and chellenging, etc.

3.Other (30/100 points): Mistakes, bugs and warm tips. If there is any bugs that can't let me pass the level, I'll reduce a lot of points..

                                          Final rating:
                                          0-29 = 1 star
                                          25-59 = 2 stars

                                          60-74 = 3 stars
                                          75-84 = 4 stars
                                          85-100 = 5 stars

I'll continue updating these rules and I'll use these rules to rate levels.

This LDC is very special, it allows LL levels.
So there is a question: How will the medals be given? For example, KABOOM got a 1st place, but his level is a LL level. Are there any thoughts?

I have rated so many levels but I didn't obey any rules. Here is my own rating standard. ( New judging standards! )

I'll give each level an unoffical overview with 100 points in total.

1.Level Quality: (25/100 points): Include level diffculty, graphics and the designing of the level. If a level is so hard or laggy that I can't pass this star will immediately be lost. And if a level is so easy that I can EASILY pass it, I'll cost scores according to the circumstances.
How to judge if a level is laggy:

                                          FPS: 26+: Good.

FPS: 20-26: Not very good, but it can be accepted.

                                          FPS: 14-20: Bad.
                                          FPS: 14-: Terrible, I can't stand!

Here is a tutorial that can prevent a "laggy" level:Why is a Level Laggy?
Tutorial that can make better text in LD: Coming Soon!

2.In-game playing: (45/100 points): Include level decoration, the use of tiles. And if this level is interesting, fascinating and chellenging, etc.

3.Other (30/100 points): Mistakes, bugs and warm tips. If there is any bugs that can't let me pass the level, I'll reduce a lot of points..

                                          Final rating:
                                          0-29 = 1 star
                                          25-59 = 2 stars

                                          60-74 = 3 stars
                                          75-84 = 4 stars
                                          85-100 = 5 stars

I'll continue updating these rules and I'll use these rules to rate levels.

                                          I'm making a sigbar...probably by Minecraft.

I would imagine he still gets a 1st place medal either way.

now to decide on whether to finish my level or not
