Important new developments regarding SM63 hacking

We have a few interesting things to announce regarding SM63 hacking - you know, those levels that do weird things to the game, like Wii Mode: Activate! and Tomb Tower.

  • We’re working on a lot of things which will be very useful in the future. Right now, we’re just troubleshooting SAVEDATA (!!!!) in LD levels, for example.
  • Also, we can almost spawn any sprite from the game in the Level Designer - this includes things like Toads, Bowser, etc. There are still a few major things to work out, but the basics are there.
  • We're working on vertical level transitions (sort of).
  • We’re taking requests for features. Just post, uuh, somewhere, saying what you want to be added.
  • And most excitingly… We have a GitHub for SM63 modding! Right now, this is just for us to put files for things like Chaos Edition and the public debugger, but Soon™ anyone with a GitHub account (public account just for this also coming Soon™) will be able to submit their own code, and have it be accessible from any custom level!
So this is all pretty exciting, and we can’t wait to release everything.
