Well, I think Mars would be more suitable for us to live on. It's not much colder than Earth (depending on where you are) and I think it has some of the gases that are safe to breathe in. (nitrogen?... WAIT, no. Never mind.) 95% of it is Carbon dioxide. X.X
Plant a couple.. well, plants (FAIL) to take in the carbon dioxide, and eventually, Mars might be safe to live in.
Then again, it has a thin atmosphere. We wouldn't have much protection against the Sun's rays.

At least its better than the moon.
