The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

The Snowflake Keep...a major fortress located on the only saddle of the Graupel Mountains. It is said that it shall forever snow on the northern side of the mountain. Only during Christmas could both sides share the bitter snow. For eons, the fortress has defended Novemia from the attacks of Decemia. Novemia, a major state in the south under the rule of King Hardin, has enjoyed prosperity for ages. Decemia, Novemia's northern neighborhood, however, couldn't share the prosperity at all, even after years of negotiation. Queen Tania, the current leader of the Decemians, seeing civil unrest due to the recent famine, decided to invade Novemia. Unlike her predecessors, she launched the attack in Winter instead of Summer, hoping to take advantage of the snow, and defeat Novemia.

Why don't the Novemians share their resources? The truth is, Novemia's population has been growing rapidly. Should they give up their resources, they wouldn't be able to develop fast enough to keep all of their people well fed.

Now, which side will you pick? Will you assist the Novemians in their defense? Or will you assist the Decemians in their offense? No matter what, the snow will be tainted in red...

HOW TO PLAY:
You'll pick between the two factions of the battle.

As a Novemian, you'll be defending the Snowflake Keep from the Decemians.
As a Decemian, you'll be trying to take the Snowflake Keep from the Novemians.

No matter which side you take, you'll be placed as a commander on the field, with a small group of ten soldiers under your direct control (You can decide what kind of soldiers they are. Bowmen/Knights/Mages/etc, ). You're also supplied with steeds.

You can join the RPG by simply having your first post in a format like this:

Gender: (Self-explanatory.)
Weapon: (Medieval Weaponry, Magic spells or a mix of two. You can pick two weapons.)
Faction: (Novemia or Decemia?)


Everything else about your character can be decided by you throughout your posts.

If you're playing as a Decemian, your goal is to besiege Snowflake Keep before 12/25 0:00 UTC 12/28 0:00 UTC.
If you're playing as a Novemian, your goal is to either defend the keep or rout the Decemians before 12/25 0:00 UTC 12/28 0:00 UTC.

If you die, it's game over for you. No retries. You COULD defect to the enemy faction, but I'll be sure to make such decision costly, and it may not even succeed.

RULES:
No Godmodding (While you're decently trained in combat, don't go overboard.)
No Bunnying (Don't control others without their consent. ie. Forcing someone to hand their weapon to you.)

DECEMIAN SIDE

The Decemians set up camps at the mountainfoot. The commanders have gathered in the biggest tent, discussing their offense. General Otto stood up from his seat and handed enchanted papers to every commander.

"Here's a brief report on our strengths. We at the moment possess 200 elite soldiers and 800 regular soldiers, all very capable of winter warfare," General Otto said, "I'm sure you're familiar with the papers I just gave you. You can pass messages on the paper for all commanders to see by writing them down with your fingers."

The general paced around, before continuing. "Our wizards have reported that the snow will end for the Novemians in sixteen days. We must not waste our time, for once the snow ends, all advantages we have are immediately lost."

Suddenly, the torches on the watchtowers of the Snowflake Keep went alight. "I'll remind you that this may be our one and only chance at defeating Novemia. Should we lose this battle, the Novemians will strengthen their defenses furthermore during winters for years to come, making it absolutely impossible for us to plan an offensive again," Otto said, sternly.

NOVEMIAN SIDE

The watchmen saw the Decemian's camp at the mountainfoot, and immediately ignited the signal torch. The watchmen scrambled into the sleeping quarters and woke everyone up. "The Decemians! They're attacking!"

The words quickly got into General Audrey. She called all commanders into a strategic meeting.

"The blasted Decemians decided to attack now!" Audrey slammed the table with her fist. "But! The Snowflake Keep has never been besieged since it's construction! They must be relying on the heavy snow behind our backs, delaying reinforcements. But jokes on them! The sages have already reported that the snow is going to last for a mere sixteen days! Sixteen days is more than enough for us to hold our fort, and just enough for us to rout them as well!" Her stressed face quickly turned into a smile.

"Commanders, we're defending the throat of Novemia. Do not let our countrymen down! We may only have 400 soldiers in the keep, but we must use them to their fullest."

(You may either discuss with your respective Generals and fellow Commanders, or move out and put whatever plan you have in mind into place.)

Y'know what? I'll go wild on this. I'm gonna use a character I have in reserve.
Name: Kerri Evenwood, Travelling Bard Extraordinaire!
Gender: ♀
Weapon: Short sword and magical guitar
Faction: Novemia

During her travels, Kerri came to Novemia, to bring her music and good cheer to more people. But when the town was attacked, she decided to assist in the defense of the city.

...I don't know if the backstory is even needed but there it is. When do we start?

"Alright! My songs will keep the spirits up!", said Kerri, as she strummed a few notes in her guitar. "Anything we need to know?"

-Khaos Atlas (Khaos Atlas is a very powerful magic book but he's just an apprentice mage so he can only cast debuffs such as slow, stun, sleep and some basic dark spells)
-Dreamcatcher Talisman which can protects allies from some attacks.
Faction: Decemia

"Sorry for late my commander, but I'll do my best!" He said and then he practices his spells.

Name: Leader Harmless

How the-?! Today is clearly not his day. The famed Leader of the Mechani Alliance somehow ended up in this place after a diplomatic envoy cruiser lost power and forced him to run an escape pod into this... odd land. To make matters worse, he's without much communication to his nation, has none of his technological survival tools, and this blasted cold is turning him into a popsicle! Luckily, he's made it this far off of wits and survival skills alone, and after receiving shelter from Novemia, he is forced to put his leadership to the test - Training and commanding soldiers he has no experience with!

Gender: Talroakian Male (Think of Talroakians as Humanoids with pointier, slightly longer ears, thicker hair, heavy accents, and slightly different organ structures. Otherwise, everything else is just about the same as a human's.)
Weapons:
1. Heavy Repeater Crossbow with modified clip and scope+sights, allowing for heavy long range damage.
2. Spiked Gauntlets (three spikes per gauntlet).

Gender: Male

Weapons:
A mechanical scythe, which can be extended for slow and heavy attacks, or retracted for shorter, but faster, slashes.
A leather gauntlet which is capable of producing a small magical shield in front of the palm (said shield covers about a third of his total height, and is slightly wider horizontally) at the cost of magical energy. The shield energy can also be 'stored' in the fist, which will provide a lot of force for punching things, but this uses up energy also.

DECEMIAN SIDE

"Very well. Pick ten soldiers from the barrack. We'll take down their front defenses first with our elites," Otto commanded. "The Novemians aren't used to seeing snow. We can cloak ourselves with the snow, sneak up into their walls and take out the watchmen. I'll stay here. Send me a message when the bowmen are down, then I'll lead the charge with our regular soldiers, aiming to break down their gate as soon as possible. Meanwhile, you'll delay their attempts at trying to bring more bowmen to the walls as much as possible."

Otto walked to Damien and stared at his tome "When you master this tome, you'll be devoid of soul. But until then, I eager you to put it into use. Just don't get into it too much."

He then approached Robin, but decided to not say a thing. After all, he hired the mercenary himself.

Otto walked to the exit of the tent, and gave you the Decemian Salute. "Good luck," He left the tent. The snow sticked to his coat quickly.

NOVEMIAN SIDE

"Well, yes. I can tell that you lots aren't exactly experienced with commanding, so I'll personally instruct you on what to do." Audrey said, with confidence written all over her face.

"Harmless, you're to gather soldiers to hold the gate. The gate's made of steel, so it won't go down easily."

"Karyete, you're to gather soldiers to hold vital positions along the hill and serve us our premier defense. Retreat to the keep if things get too rough."

"Kerri, you're to gather bowmen and mages to the top of the wall and prevent the Decemian's progress from afar. If Karyete retreats, you're to cover his troops too."

"As for me, I'll rally the rest of the troops and put the entire keep on high alert, preparing for any stealth approaches."

"With that, let's move out!" Audrey rushed out of the room. You can already hear her yelling at other soldiers into patrolling. The hallways seem to echo a lot...perhaps, when needed, you can yell into the hallways to pass messages to the other commanders and Audrey.

Damien picking soldiers from barracks. "Ok, I'll choose 4 bowmen, 3 mages and 3 knights." Then he commands all bowmen available to shot Novemian's watchmen, then he put his Khaos Atlas and casts an accuracy-boost on bowmen and he cast a duplicate spell on the arrows to perform the arrow shower, directing into Novemian's watchmen.

I guess I'm stuck with Bowmen and Mages then I'll have 7 Bowmen and 3 Mages.

"Alright, let's go!"

Kerri's squad gets on the wall.

"Alright everyone! Let's do our best! ♪"

Kerri plays a Song to raise's everyone's spirits (Magic boost). The Mages boost the Bowmen's Accuracy, and the Bowmen will be on standby to fire on any troops they see.
