How would you know that? It's his decision anyway.

Re: Moving forward...

Postby Doram » August 23rd, 2015, 7:01 am

Well, I can't speak for the Christian God, but my gods have no problem with this, as far as I know. (and if they had a problem, they would let me know...)

I'm trying to get a hold of captain yoshi, because he has the narrowest availability, and I was hoping he could be more flexible. Unfortunately, the only contact info I had for him was his account here, so the site being down 100% took away from that moving forward. If anyone from Red Team (or anyone else for that matter) knows how to contact him, please let me know.

EDIT: And, now that I think about it, Let's just make sure that we are all on the same page here with communication. All team members, please add me to your Skype - Username: doram_baramour

If you do not have Skype (or do not want to install it) You can get to it in a web browser here: https://web.skype.com/en/

(We probably should have done this from the beginning. Thoughts for next time.........)

EDIT2: And if anyone has questions about why Skype, my answer is this:
  1. It's as fast as chat - faster than the forums.
  2. Posts sit there forever, and the entire log is saved, and displayed for you, each time you log in - better than IRC chat.
  3. It's not hosted on this server.
  4. You can control who is in on any particular chat, so we can have team discussions separate from general RO discussions, and your security is maintained.
And, no, we are not asking for voice or video chat, just text, in case anyone is squeamish for that reason. As for the Skype chat, considering points 1 and 2, it's like a cross between the forums and the IRC, with all the benefits of both. You don't have to be present to be part of the discussion, but if you are, things can move wicked fast. I never thought 3 would be that important, but that's life for you. Be prepared. (As a matter of fact, getting Runouw's attention on the site being down, and coordinating what had to be done to get it back up was much faster because of the staff chat we have on Skype!)

Well, that even affirms MoD being our rep for CAH. Hey Jumbo, there's still LL left for you to enter and we'll also need you for the Hunt. (We need everyone for the Hunt of course)

Doram, maybe you could announce the CAH reps beforehand for clarification?

Thank you, FF.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

Doram, is it cool if I add you on the day the event happens? I don't like to open Skype when I don't have to - my laptop isn't a fan

I do HAVE Skype, and I would very much prefer to use the actual client, I'm just wondering if I can wait until the day.
